I used to play Carrom A LOT with my friends... and judging by what I'm seeing here, I guess we all could've entered and have a chance of winning this tournament.
Try playing on that board. Saying anything far away from game is very easy. Once u are in such a tournament and if u play a game there then u will see.

It is a tournament, the boards should be just as good or even better than the ones we played on. All I see is sloppy playing, doesn't have much to do with the board... shooting straight is shooting straight.

So with that sportsman spirit we should not insult others...they are finalists in that tournament so we have to respect them instead of cracking jokes on their game...and that board is very special...I played many games on that board, pocketing coin is not that easy like ordinary boards...still u enjoy the toughness of that green board if u play on it...

I asked if there was a local league and he said that its just somethig people play at home. I'm in Canada so I'm thinking that likely I could start my own LEAGUE and it would just be me. So I'm thinking that I probably COULD 'win my province' and get to go to a tournament like this. But as said, its kind of a dick comment to insult poeple. They made some shots that looked hard, but missed some shots, that happens in all kinds of tournaments. No need to be pissy about it.
You can hit anything anywhere in international matches. To make the matches more interesting, some countries impose restrictions on hitting backwards in their national matches.
There is different types of rules but this is international rule for example I’m Nepali and the people I play with don’t hit back shots nor do I instead we try to get it out by rebound it honestly just depends but most people prefers hitting back shots which makes the game easier
Seriously these are players in the US OPEN finals ? This one guy could not hit straight. I have seen amazing players like sandeep deorukhkar / yogesh dongre, srini and ashraf khan. I would never agree that these are final's players. :D
I've seen this game played with larger flick disks -- is there international rules -- how old is this game it looks like fun? On some tables I see a powder, what's that? What is the material for the table -- it seems the "very slick" is not the goal of the table, maybe medium sticky -- is there a rule for table smoothness? What are the disks made out of?

If they can hit the coin direct which are in the line then why did they draw line in our rule we have to hit cushion shot game alwsys overs in 29 point or 28 if opponent has 0 point if u pot red and get point then u get 5 point for red and 1 for each remaining opponents chips Fucking hell...

They miss too many shots.I understand the pressure of the tournament but seriously they missed some easy shots. I have been playing carrom all my life. I was obsessed with it. You can say 20 years of experience of day night practising.I am still undefeated in my regional. I seriously play much better than them. We play in boards that are double the size of this board. If not double, but definitely quarter the size. And with much more strict rules. You can't directly pocket the coin behind the lines. That's the way it should be played. Otherwise, it's way to easy to pocket the coins in one or two go. I wish I had tournaments like these in my country. Still haven't got an opportunity. I still believe these player needs more improvements regarding handling the pressure. Srinivas is the one of the guys which I like.

Powder is used to reduce the friction so that the surface of the board becomes smoother

Yes, pocketing the coin behind the line really sucks. Way to easy. Even kids can finish the game in a single break. Atmost 2 or 3 turns.

Of course it does. Arrow rules apply only for the type of game where a player doesn't have restriction in pocketing only a certain colored coin..
