- First ever CARROM GRAND SLAM 2016 was conducted in Dallas Texas from September 17 to 19th 2016. Three different formats were used covering for requirements of the modern era in carrom. United States Carrom Association has been working very hard on all fronts to take the game of carrom to the next level in every respect ... equipment improvements, sponsorships/prize money, format/viewership and social reach.

Please don't judge the tournament or the players. And, most importantly have respect towards the game, players and umpire.
Mistakes happen. But an obvious attempt to cheat by placing an extra piece on the board should have disqualified him on the spot. No place for that.

Yeah just regular players. Doesn't really amaze me. I have been playing for 15 years. There were days I used to play more than 10 hours a day.
There is difference, you play in mobile and they do it on board. That's y you are sitting and watching this in youtube and they are competing.

Merkwürdiges Spiel. Wer schon mal auf der Messe "Spiel xx" war, der kennt den Quenns Games Stand. Und hat fasziniert zugeschaut. Mehr aber auch nicht. "Dotzen" haben wir schon im Kindergarten gespielt. ;-)

Oh my god!! Did anyone notice how Anil tricked to place a white coin on the board when he had double due and he was asking for his striker? The man gave his striker back but Anil secretly placed a white coin on the board. It was almost unnoticeable because his hand was over the board. Luckily he was told to put back the coin in the pocket.What a cheating!!!

That being said, I know the players are talented. I just want to know what "timing" has to do with their success or failure.

Small world. This is the first time I have watched a Carrom video and lo and behold I see someone that I watch a lot. If not for you, I still wouldn't know how to play Mage Knight :)
In fact this rule for carrom really sucks. All tokens behind the line should not be played directly. The stricker cannot b played backwards. All token behind the line should be played with either rebounds or back shots. Then it becomes a real game.

Realy folks, Those "behind the line shots" should be encouraged. They make you think, about placement, take and block, gather and foil. And makes you improve your skills of multi-rebound and drop in case the above are against you. Go figure and open your mind to collision physics. :). Without that flexibility it makes the game boring. Stright shots, simple rules and no balls to visualize your shots your game or your play.

Hi, I am very new to this game. I have a board and have watched numerous videos but some people are not as good as other explaining the rules of the game. Can you clarify the function and use of the red piece? It's a beautiful game. So much opportunity for strategy. I love watching but would rather play and then teach my friends to play! Thank you in advance if you can take the time for a novice.
@@bigdaddy3k It's called the Queen and you get extra points if you're the one to sink it, but you must sink one of your own pieces immediately afterwards or it doesn't count. Also, you must win that board to get those points. Rules vary, but in this game it was worth 3 points.

Both the players appear unskilled. Neither are their shots accurate, nor are they strategically blocking each other. And their shot selection leaves much to be desired!

Hi, can someone give me info of the sizes of the board? i'm from mexico and here isn't easy to get that game so i wish make my own board and coins

anil though finished few games was on par with dinesh primarily because he was getting hold of queen.. dinesh though he was playing very well for most part was reachable for the same reason.. dinesh realized this mid way and focussed on queen on second half and got through.. dinesh deserved this.. good luck.

The rules implied there are totally wrong and placed as per Convenience..the first strike should take the white, the pieces touching the arrow marks at the corners shouldn't be hit directly unless by rebound, and lastly the base system without a rebound is ridiculous
