#Ghostin another great video. A topic I am interested in, is actual blood brothers in a 1%er MC. Have you seen it? How does it affect loyalty to the club and eachother, etc.
Thank you for the info! Retired Army here and I do wear my vest with pride! 21 years Active Duty, 9 Deployments, 2 Combat Tours, Drill Sergeant duty and several brothers lost...HOOAH!!
I've been a metalhead all my life, I've also been around bikers all my life, and I ride every day. I wear my metal band vest (cheesily called a "battle vest" in the so-called metal community) all the time, and not once has any biker ever given me shit over it. On the contrary, I've had many 1% patch holders compliment me on my vest because of certain bands that I have patches for. I do get trouble from bar security for it from time to time because they can't tell the difference between a cut and a music related patch vest, but generally once I explain it, they leave me alone.
I think it's best not to make it look like a mc vest. MC vest have specific criteria of patchwork, where they go, size, etc. I have a punk trench and it has patches, buttons, bottle caps, even a pride and funeral flag on it.
Jax's is right on point as I keep the band patches small and grouped not to look like a club jacket but mix some motorcycle stuff in there as well whenever possible. Concealed Carry is normally a plain jacket but definitely limited to areas I know rather than just showing up that way
These videos are usually focused on how to not upset MCs while wearing vests but there is also a chance you might run into the OPPOSITE situation dealing with anti-biker bigots and people who have a negative idea of that fashion style.
Mad respect for the shout out from that side of the fence. Just remember Choppa when your message helps others, the trolls, bad people, and even some MCs can't help but to turn on the hate. They accuse you of co-signing to intimidate you and shut your message down. They'll make negative videos about you, make terrible posts (about things they would never say in person face-to-face) and of course the lies will come about the content of your character, your heart, your manhood, some will even talk sh*t about your club and club brothers. And if you are a man of color the racists won't be far behind. They don't think men of color are worthy enough to even own Harleys or belong to motorcycle club brotherhoods. And just when you think you've seen it all, along comes the fake social media pages designed to make someone mad at you so you can get hurt. All of this because you want to help people? But you'll know you are doing it right when you are sitting in a spot alone, quietly eating some food, and someone walks up and tells you that one of your videos, you didn't even think was shot well, saved their life. And then you know your heart was right. You did what you had to do because you were compelled to do so. That's when you know you chose the right mission. That's when you know no troll will shut down your message no matter how many lies they tell. You've started a movement. Now get on with it. #Ghostin
I have mentioned my unit patches before but now I’ll share another about them. I was in Arizona at a bike rally when my girl and I were approached by two members of a 1% club (fond of the letter 23). They asked about the red diamond patch on the right side of my vest. I told them what they were, one a red diamond from Fort Polk the other from Korea (which you can see hanging on the wall in the officers club on MASH). I was told that some folks might take issue with that diamond and the placement on my vest. He thanked me for my service and he suggested that I move the diamond to the left side or to replace it with a smaller unit pin and that might avoid complications in the future. I told him that I did have pins that I could use instead of the patch and told him when I got home I would make the changes he suggested. I thanked him for opinion and we shook hands and parted ways. I did indeed switch out the patches for the pins, not out of fear of what may happen but out of respect for the way they treated me. If they had of come at me all hard I would have responded in a different way, but they were pretty cool to me so thats what I gave them back.
Laying down knowledge. You talk about what most motovlogers don't, I like your channel. You're the first channel I ran across that discusses this stuff. Lookin out and being real; I respect it. Like my friend sez; "ain't gotta lie to kick it."
Great Stream CS. Also, “Happy Belated Birthday”. I enjoy the positive message and advice that you share. Sending many blessings to you and keep going strong. I can’t wait to view you and BD, doing it big.
Army veteran gonna get my ride this year and glad to hear MC's dont have much problems with vets wearing there military tops. Thanks man and i enjoy your channel great information.
Great video Braddah, I’ve the big MC member with a Navy SEAL trident on his vest, I guess its true decorated Brothers coming home from the war earned that respect (I agree)just sharing. LOVED the show choppa, much love and aloha, your boy Kekoa.🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
BLS - the BLS colors used to be a legit "earn it" thing where it was band and crew only, then close friends, then raduo DJs, eventually Zakk started handing them out like candy. The 3 piece was also the t-shirt design for years, i used to have the shirt cut and sewn onto the back of my rock vest before I started riding until a guy I knew who happened to br prez of an MC educated me (easy education not "hard educated") about patches and suggested I make a change before something happened. BLS "colors" are available at almost any mall and by mail so definately not earned anymore. The BLS video was a complete horse poop worked out thing for some TV show but legit back in the day, the band and the crew used to call folks out on it.
@@choppersosa5428, yeah. It took about 6 years and whole lot of traveling all over ny. Was well worth it and have some awesome memories cause of it. Never had any trouble wearing it.
Sound off military brothers and sisters. I myself am former army, I unfortunately didn’t serve for very long I had some medical issues come up and I’m not gonna say I did anything crazy because I didn’t. But I do know I signed the dotted line and love supporting what we as prior military have done. MLHR.
I am also former Military. Will not wear a one percent patch, mc, etc. Its disrespectful in that i earned none of those patches. The same goes the other way if a guy is rocking Vet patches and never served. Respect each other.
I’m not a biker (I did grow up around bikers as a kid though) but found your channel by accident when I was watching some videos about heavy metal vests and have been watching a ton. Cool channel man. I’ve never been hassled for my “battle vest” but have avoided the “BLS” style and really just covered it in band patches. Nothing but respect for bikers! 🤘🤘
First off Happy belated birthday Ghostin, hope you had a awesome day,. Only cut im known for wearing is a Motorhead tribute vest I made myself, I also keep up with Black Dragon as well whenever I can
First and fore most... Happy birthday brother, here’s to another year alive 🤙 Most clubs, if they have a problem with what you got on your vest, they’ll ask about it and if there IS a problem you get one warning, after that, stupid games get stupid prizes... #GHOSTIN
As the son of a former Angel and ex chapter prez of a BLS chapter in Cali, I grew up learning how to not step on toes and give proper respect to any and every 1%er. We do take it serious but we also know what to say and who to say it to. Keep the rubber side down brother. Much love.
I wear black label. My dad was a chapter president back in Cali before he passed. I had to earn my patches. We do have by laws like all MCs, but to be absolutely 100% clear and honest. WE ARE NOT AN MC. Be it 1%er or otherwise. We don’t claim to be an mc and we do not step on toes. We do have to earn our cut. No three ways about it. If we do ride a scoot we do learn about MC culture and codes of honor. We are what is called a Fam club. Now to be clear on another point Black Label Society (the band) is a support band for 81. We do hang around from time to time if we are in 81 states, but we do not claim to be a part of 81. Happy belated birthday Chopper Sosa. I hope you had a good one. Thank you for making this channel. When my kids get old enough I’m going to have them watch your vids to help educate them bout their daddy’s world! #Ghostin
I have come to respect you highly. Because of the truth you speak. You just say what it is and let the fools make up there minds. If you saw my colors they have all my earned military patches on it. But we are all ex combat vets.
I been catching up on all your vids. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re dropping so much wisdom. Experience and wisdom has its differences. Experience you learn by your mistakes. wisdom you learn from others people mistakes and experiences. Sometimes learning from others experiences is more valuable. So keep giving us the wisdom
Good words, no issue with rock band patches. Theyre fans and most fans probably dont really know the MC community and whats up with it, they are just supporting their bands blindly and looking what they think is cool in the process. Yeah, SOA cuts make me shake my head too, especially when you see them riding a bicycle or hopping in a beater car.
#Ghostin NYC Brooklyn... good knowledge you put out there on this episode i use to rock a single side patch that read Brooklyn and was never confronted, however, you had told me maybe out of state it could be an issue so i removed it, not of fear but respect, im an outsider so the things you #ChoppaSosa and other speak on should be taken as fruitful knowledge, not some bullying ppl. also i was questioned by a ball-peen hammer pin I had by two different 1% clubs in Brooklyn. i hang out at different spots and i know a few of them. so basically they told me on different occasions thats 81 (HA) and pulling me aside they broke down everything telling me "Rick i don't wanna see you hurt or in a situation with HA or another Club". i respect it so i removed the pin and to me, that was a lot of love they showed by telling me that!!!!!! as always brother keep this up and definitely getting that new sweater!!
Big fan of your videos. Always keeping it real. I can say as a member of a Veterans Motorcycle Association I have never had a problem with my patch because it’s something I have earned as a veteran. Keep up the education #Ghostin I think people need to realize if you’re going to wear a Patch of any sort you need to respect biker edict. Simple as that give respect get respect
@@clownpocket constructive would the music couldve been a different vibe to compliment it or sometjing leading to a fix dog wheezin is not constructive lol
Chopper Sosa Apologies, my bad, point taken. I’m not the best diplomat. I dig the channel, content, editing, dark theme, all very cool. Wish you much success, well earned.
Not exactly a rock band vest, but.. There are MC type patches that may be seen on cuts that are Roadie (actual touring stagehands) patches. I have never seen any club have a problem with them. They are often worn on a cut or jacket from the production company so it is usually that logo on the back. RFFR is often seen (Roadie Forever, Forever Roadie), which is based on MC patches. You may see things like crossed Crescent wrenches, cameras, or other equipment, or guild or specialty patches. These are EARNED through working shows. The single encounter I've had with a 1%er about my cut was one of their members asking about a venue, as he was a fellow Roadie. So if you see someone wearing one of these on a bike, they are the guys that make your concerts and shows happen. As an aside, we have given some thought to forming a MC or RC among the people I work with, as many of us ride, and ride together often. Given the way our industry works, we would have a potential international prospect pool, so of course we could not claim any territory, but getting blessings on that scale is a bit daunting, and I'm not sure how to go about it. For the people wearing Sons of Anarchy, and now Mayans gear- Thanks for supporting the show but please maybe stick to the hats and t-shirts, or, if you're going to wear the cuts maybe stitch a "Fan of" on or over the top rocker. Keep sittin' up on two in the wind. Mike #GHOSTIN #California
Hey happy birthday. About the BLS stuff. The video of Zakk having a fit was actually staged, he doesn’t take himself nearly that serious. He’s told his fans that if you’re wearing a BLS cut and are told to take it off, then take it off. He doesn’t want his fans getting into fights or getting hurt over it. Supposedly he contacted some 1% clubs to make sure it was OK and they had no issues with it. The only issues I’ve heard of all took place in the UK and that was years ago. I’ve been a Berserker (BLS fan) from the beginning and have never seen anyone have an issue with it but like you said anything can happen. I think most clubs know it’s just a band and don’t think anything of it. Going to catch them in concert this Saturday in Greensboro NC, actually get to meet Zakk before the show. If you like metal definitely check them out.
Yo loving your channel i dubbed the channel of TRUTH to all the haters all my man is doing here is giving you information so you can act right. Now i rep my BLS vest i been in the pit from day1 i also have a few military paches on my vest my father was a military man was on the beaches of Normandy so these patches are for him mostly but i support our military 1000% i show local clubs 1000% respect i do not wear my vest to there events or clubhouse and i wouldn't most of the clubs here i have friends in and they know i truely am the only one around here that wears that vest and rides never seen another here so no one really fucked with me if asked to take it off i wouldn't be happy but show respect get respect so in the saddle bag it would go. Basically simple as this like i said above SHOW RESPECT GET RESPECT. ML&R @CHOPPERSOSA keep doin your thing big homie
Chopper, first of all, Happy Birthday big man! That Black Label Society patch set looks a lot like a 1% MC 3 patch set. I guess it could create confusion if folks don't know about the band. There's a long list of stolen valor videos on the web and most, if not all of the time, it deals with people dressing up in military uniforms or impersonating being part of Special Forces type units like Navy SEALS or Army Green Berets. For the most part, veterans police each other regarding those and will interject with folks repping military insignia that they have not earned. I can see if a veteran in an MC sees an insignia on someone, they will ask about it. To those who have not served, it is likely that they will not recognize military specialty insignia. Great video brother! Since you've been hitting on patches and starting MCs with blessings and such, can you do a video on how the MC Secretary, VP, and other positions function? The one you did on the Sergeant at Arms was great. Saludo BORICUA!
What's up brah. Respect as always. #GhostinNC Now; about BLS. Personally I'm a black label society (the band) fan. I do know a few people that rock BLS cuts. There's a little group of music buffs that are die-hard BLS fans that rock it, and as far as I know you can Buy the patch set. I know that among that particular group I'm speaking on, they "earn" theirs by often having it gifted to newcomers that dont have them or cant afford them or whatever. I dont know how offensive that would be to a 1%er, but I know to me I feel like it doesn't mean much to earn it if I can just buy it (hypothetically). I've also seen where they get upset at other people for touching their patches while giving a hug or something, and I think that's a bit ridiculous by itself. That's what makes it corny to me; if you bought a patch (and no one knows whether you bought it or earned it, officially) and get offended that someone who isn't a BLS fan touched it...just go home. You're embarrassing yourself lol and I've also seen it where club members have yanked their BLS cuts in bars and given it back to them at the end of the night when they go home. They basically just weren't allowed to wear it in mutual places if they were being assholes to someone about a bought-patch. And if I'm being 100% honest, I can respect that.
The history of the battle jacket or as other people call band rockers, is almost as old as the old MCs coming out of the military and finding a family in fact a kind of splits two ways because as a time for changing from the 50s to the 60s people found family in the motorcycle culture and they want represent themselves it was the Bands that separated the soldiers from Battle jackets to MCS... so the history gets kind of complicated but there are some similarities in the history
Since I'm a veteran, I agree that veterans should not be bothered wearing anything they earned. I think its ridiculous that some may get pulled up on for wearing patches that relate to your military service.
Well absolutely on that one lol. As long as both parties are respectful and figure out the situation, it should be all good. Respect brother. Like the content
Thanks for the like....I am a retired Marine combat vet with 10 overseas tours. I don't fly any colors and if I wear something.... I earned it. Having said that, if what I wear pisses ANYBODY (including "1%er's) off well....TFS! I am one of the .5% and take absolutely NO $#!t from ANYONE! Have a nice day.
Another great topic, loving this channel more and more every week keep it up. I don’t where a vest but hubby does and he’s always saying to me that when I do get my vest to never just slap on any patch do research and ask questions. #Ghostin #NorthCarolina
I'm a fairly new rider 4 years steady. I had a run in with the bandidos. I had a vest and I didn't understand the color on color code. Security and VP pulled me to the side and asked did I know what I was wearing. I said my vest. Then they explained to me why inshouldnt have certain colors touch others. They were polite and didnt try to take it or fight. They had seen I was local in the area and had a couple buddies in their club. I had 3 patches removed and no problems since
I do believe there is a documentary done with him in which he does explain he got the blessing to have a 3pc from a 1% club. both parties shown respect for it. based on the design and people’s attitude I can see why people get themselves in trouble.. to the mc that’s asking for what ever reasons to the person wearing it they see it as just a shirt and probably feels disrespected for being asked or bullied into taking it off.. like being said respect will keep you from getting into trouble or into a situation not needed.
I personally feel vest related to music should never be an issue. whether its 3 piece or not as long theres no mc or diamond on it then why should it be an issue. But if it's not music or television related and your replicating an omc yeah theres a problem and should be a problem. Like you said it was earned and should be earned. So to put on some shit bought in the store that took some brothers years to earn and they put in that work then expect a situation. #ghostin #trfftr #bikelife #mc #1%er #international #brotherhood #thugridersmc #newyork
Don’t have a 3 piece on the back. Keep the shit on the front. You designate yourself as a lone wolf. You can have a vest without being looked at as an MC.
#ghostin #southjersey as an independent rider the only patches I where are patches that represent my bike fatboy, harley davidson, american flags, and live free ride hard patches at the end of the day we are all on two wheels #ghostin
when i wasv14 yo I remember sporting a leather jacket with a denim cut with a huge Iron Maiden Eddie drawing on the back in ink by my buddy while we were all getting loaded one night at a park I wore that same cut years before I had a motorcycle I look back now ya I guess it might of looks corny the back then everybody into heavy metal sported leather and denim I'm 50 now and I'm still a die-hard Iron Maiden fan you got to respect bands that have been around longer than most MCs I wouldn't see a problem with it though I don't Sport 1 today if I found the right one I would you got to admit Iron Maiden has the greatest Graphics of all time happy birthday to you Chopper everybody needs just sit down and 420 together and get along

I keep it simple I pay good attention to what party I’m going to and dress as neutral as I can that I way I know there’s less chance for confusion. I’ve been approved to wear a hang around patch but the moment I do that I feel that I’d be giving up a lot of freedom. But the dudes that do this shit aren’t the deepest thinkers. I told a prospect once that the reason we want you to earn it is you’ll fight for it. It’s like this, which would you fight harder over? Back to rockers, I know you've covered it but since then, I'm more curious. Harley sells a two rocker pkg. Harley/top rocker Davidson/bottom rocker I put my HOG member patch in the middle. Is that a three piece patch issue?
@Menace2Sobriety why does HD sell the rocker? Yes, even with the HOG patch I have the rockers. We take some simple things we know for granted, trust me. Non riders have no idea what the HOG patch is. To them, it simply means, hog, as in with a snout and a curly tail. They dont know the "Harley owner group". HD obviously sells it for advertising, like the multi million dollar clothing with HD on the back. So, I'm not real sure that your question is answered. Mine still isnt. I asked a question and you ask me a question without giving me an answer. It sounds like you dont know any more than I do. So, let's keep waiting for an answer.
There is an Outlaw BICYCLE club in the U.S. that go by the name BLACK LABEL BICYCLE CLUB. They are a group of punk rockers, squatters, and artists. They make their own 3 piece cuts. Your thoughts ? #Ghostin

Zach Wylde and black label Society are known supporters of 81. I’ve got to see the black label Society play two times, one in Denver Colorado and the other one in Dallas Texas both times the man said support your local hells angels chapter. My point is as far as cuts from a band ago the black label Society is the only one I would see there would have the blessing to have something like that. But then again I don’t know shit!
I ride in a military MA and it takes a DD214 with a combat zone deployment to wear the patch and they’re strict on no rockers, no state affiliation etc. Much respect for what you do on this channel

Thought there was a issue with certain clubs over in the UK and Ireland who had an issue with the BLS vests...I’d think at least statewide most ppl in clubs and territorial landlords know the difference in a cut/fanboy stuff. Happy birthday too @Choppersosa I’ve enjoyed your show the last couple weeks I found ya. Can you do a show sometime on your ride and what kinda bikes you’ve had or that you enjoy? Respect.
@rebelavmc, everyone knows the difference however there is only one back patch club in scotland and they like it that way. They will not tolerate back patches of any kind. band, tv show or club. It's just the way it is
Quick question, how does someone balance a full time job (50 hours a week) and club life? My house is set but how does that effect prospecting and full patch club life?
Its funny that you mentioned Black Label Society, because I JUST read this article about them yesterday. Here’s a link to a statement they made regarding their three piece patch: bravewords.com/news/black-label-society-chapters-and-patches-explained Another great episode!!!! #ghostin
TW I love BLS, but zakk is being stupid. He is choosing to be a wannabe. His “cut” is a bad idea. He should have went a different route with his thing.
RFFB RFFB I agree 100% If it was a band patch, like those metal band denim jackets that you see, which is usually just a big square patch with the band on it, I think it would be fine. But without a doubt, if you’re wearing a 3 piece patch and you don’t even ride, not to mention you’re not a club with any sort of blessing, I think it’s a kick in the face of the culture. That’s like a band dressing up in military uniforms. Not cool.
I agree with you.when I was younger I rode with a black flag patch that was square and never had a problem.heard some misfits fans had some issues but never seen it my self.now I just ride with a slick back and not a single patch at all.

O thanks learned something new ive never seen it in a mall

Sound off military brothers and sisters. I myself am former army, I unfortunately didn’t serve for very long I had some medical issues come up and I’m not gonna say I did anything crazy because I didn’t. But I do know I signed the dotted line and love supporting what we as prior military have done. MLHR.

Thanks for the knowledge brother!
Shout fam keep reppin your show dam much love 💥👍
The history of the battle jacket or as other people call band rockers, is almost as old as the old MCs coming out of the military and finding a family in fact a kind of splits two ways because as a time for changing from the 50s to the 60s people found family in the motorcycle culture and they want represent themselves it was the Bands that separated the soldiers from Battle jackets to MCS... so the history gets kind of complicated but there are some similarities in the history
Your reaching a lot of people in a very positive way and found a great job of it.

Yes, even with the HOG patch I have the rockers.

HD obviously sells it for advertising, like the multi million dollar clothing with HD on the back.
So, I'm not real sure that your question is answered.

Not cool.
