    Aah finally! Someone who actually explains it, like in which direction I have to put it and just everything. Also the 'backgroundinformation' about how it works was good to know. Very helpful video, also you seem really nice.

      Late to the party but the only way to fix this is to scan it and then work the digital image in Photoshop or some similar software. You'd be surprised at how much latitude you have to make adjustments. You could then print the processed image, but then it's not a Polaroid. Best thing is to learn how your particular camera exposes and make adjustments. If your photos are consistently light or dark, your exposure meter probably needs to be cleaned.

    I have the same One Step in this video and I shoot outdoor black and white film with the slider on darker. It adds the contrast I like in all of my black-and-white photography.

    I just receive my SX70 land model 2 today. It’s my first instant photography camera and I’m still confused on exposure. I took a photo in a very well-lit sunny area but it came out dark and I’m not sure why. Your reference of the forest kind of made sense in that I would under-expose it (to the black), but then I got lost when you mentioned the bright light/sun.

  • @nickwalker9248

    So I slide it to the dark side in bright places and light side to dark places?

  • @sleepingwithceline
    @sleepingwithceline 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So if I am taking a photo that doesn’t have enough light... I would take it on the dark side? And vise versa? I thought it would make my photo even darker! Or even brighter! So confusing

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the amount of light doesn't matter for this, the content of the image does. so if it's darker it just takes longer to expose, but yeah that topic is super confusing

  • @norbertdemeter6669

    Oh no, I've been doing it wrong. I have a Polaroid 630 camera, and whenever the lighting was dark, I always moved the slider to cover less of the light sensor, I thought more light would go in the camera that way. I didn't use my head to think that that's not the objective of the camera, that's just a light sensor. Actually, I should have covered more of the light sensor, which would tell the camera to make longer shutter speeds, which makes the picture come out lighter. Damnit! :) Now I know, thanks to you.

    Hey Marco! I recently bought a Polaroid 600 round top camera and I’m having some issues with the sharpness of the pictures. They are coming out quite blurry. I know this camera is not made to take pictures of close ups but I tried to take a picture of my arm to show a tattoo while using the “close up lens” and it came out blurry with and without flash, im a bit disappointed because I’d like to be able to showcase some of the tattoos I’ve made on people but if they are quite a small one I need to get close. Any recommendations are welcome. Thank you 💕

    I have an sx-70, and keep getting darker images - even with exposure 1/2+ lighter. The scenes I’m shooting are generally outside, overcast or brightish days with the light behind me. With an empty cartridge I’ve tested the light meter on the sx-70 and it seems to react correctly regarding shutting opening times - any thoughts

    Hallo Marco,
    Vielleicht wäre das sogar ein Video auf TH-cam wert? Was würdest Du mit 4 , 6, 10 Mehrfachbelichtungen anstellen?
    viele Grüße
    Thomas

    • @AnalogThings
      @AnalogThings  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey, also grundsätzlich macht man mit der spectra doppelbelichtungen in dem man die kamera austrickst, sie weiß also nichts von dem foto. somit muss man ganz allein die belichtungskorrektur machen, was bei 10 fotos schon lustig wird ;)
      ich muss eh noch das basis video für dieses model machen da könnte ich es gut einbauen

    Nice video! Thanks! I snapped three photos today outside, landscapes with my Polaroid 600. It was overcast so I shot with flash and left the exposure in the middle. They all turned out with an brighter strip across the top of the picture (like more washed out than the rest of the photo and losing details and contrast). Ever happened to any of you guys?
    I also tried to shoot indoor with flash. The photo came out nice! Thx for your help!

    I really love your work! Please keep up the good work!
    Recently I have been looking into the reciprocity failure characteristics of Polaroid Originals i-Type film (both color and b&w) because I want to make a Polaroid pinhole camera. However I couldn't find any useful info. I asked guys at Polaroid Originals for datasheets for both films but unfortunately they haven't tested it yet. I read somewhere Fuji instax film has really bad reciprocity failure characteristics that a 10 stop compensation is necessary for a supposedly 1 second exposure to get correct exposure (which turns it in to a 17 minutes exposure). I'm not sure if this is the case with i-Type film. I wonder if you have made long exposures with i-Type film and can provide some insight into this issue? Thanks!
