Continually amazing work.
Much appreciated!
Thank you Restoring a 67 firebird 400 convertible your TH-cam videos are very helpful!!
Great to hear!
That is one slick contraption you got there!!!! I Like it, I like it ALOT!
It’s super handy for sure
Boy that looks nice! Great work as always!
Makes room and much easier to fix up the bottom
Much gooder Jon.
Another great video.
Thanks again!
I want to start by saying people that haven't seen Jonathan's work in person. Do not have an idea of how clean and beautiful. These cars really come out from his garage. He does amazing work. I had the pleasure of seeing his 69 trans am clone. And I am telling you from top to bottom. The car is so clean in this video. It will show you how much details his work really is. I. Also, want to give a special thanks to Jonathan for sharing his knowledge to all of us including myself. The time that I have being his friend, which's about 3 years now. Unbelievable time goes so fast. I have learned so much. Buddy, we appreciate you for sharing your gift that the Lord has blessed you with and your knowledge. Thank you.
Thank you brother, I try to do my best with each car I build and still learning as i go so each one turns out better then the last. Now I get to share that experience so that anyone that wants to build their own car can get great results with way less mistakes
Keep up the good work, watching how you do this sheet metal has really helped me believe that I can do the major sheet metal repairs needed on my daughter’s 68 Firebird.
A good plan and using reference marks and leaving things like doors and trunk lid installed you can make it happen
I’ve watched you install complete floor pans and to me that seems to be the easiest and best way to get started and then do trunk pan and rear frame rails
@Todd-Noble it works
For me that order works great since how the trunk floor and frame rails are stacked especially on a coupe. For the most part only removed what you have to, as not to loose the shape or structure while cutting the car up.
another awesome video Jon. Thanks for the tips. I have a rotisserie so the flipper not needed at this time but I may weld one up anyway. lol.
If I ever upgrade to a larger shop space I will probably get a rotisserie as well. But until then flipping it is the way for me
Currently doing the Jack stand method on my 68 bird. Using a wire wheel to clean all the dirt and crud off before paint. Im not even that old and it’s brutal working that way. Love your set up!
I have been there before,
It works. Little messy. I remember laying in my parents backyard with a drill with wire brush under the car, it was after messing with it for a couple hours I decided I don’t like undercoat anymore and now I only use it in wheel wells as chip guard. Because I don’t want to remove it
Bro!!!!😮…I gotta build this…
It’s super handy and very useful
I love these videos. Thank you Jonathan for producing them. He proves that an average guy in a 2 car garage can do a top qualify restoration with a lot of expensive tools just skill and knowledge which anyone can learn from his videos. There are a lot of hacks that put out videos that show short cuts and poor work. VVG is my favorite. Keep up the great work.
Very kind words much appreciated, as a youngster my dad set the example to me many times do the job well and it will last so that is how I try to build these cars. I will say looking back in the beginning for me I was a bit of a hack and used pop rivets 😬. Learned quick that it wasn’t durable and cracked out. I then invested in a welder and been working on improving my abilities since. Now I can share several years of experience on what does and doesn’t work to save views time and money plus get decent results
That car flipper is awesome. small, compact and easy to store
Easy to operate too really couldn’t go wrong and has proven it self very useful many times now
Thank you for sharing your build process. You do quality work! Your design for the "bird flipper" is outstanding! You, Sir, are very generous to share your design. God bless you for your kindness!
Thanks! comments like this definitely keep me going and I know I am doing good things to help others in their journey big or small. Much appreciate your time and continued support
Very nice job on the Firebird convertible John!! Keep up the fantastic work sir!!!👍🏽
Thanks, will do!
Every time I see you use that car flipper I say I need to build one. This summer I will. Like the hammer tip with the gaps, I’ll be using that for sure. Once again, thanks for your time to make these videos.👍
The car flipper is such a space and back saver when you get the car to this point. A one off build it’s hard to justify but if you do more then one or make it nice it could be sold I suppose then it helps make it worth while.
Glad to see some progress on yours as well. The Cowl looking good.
Here I was figuring on a rotary and which is best but I can do this easier and cheaper. Thanks
Very welcome, a rotisserie is nice it will give a little more adjustability when working. The flipper does give more floor space.
Can you explain 60% chassis black? And also show what spray guns you use for each process? Love your content
That is a good video idea. Thanks.
60% is a way of describing the gloss level It’s like comparing flat black vs glossy black. The shinier the higher the %. Some builders like 80% gloss for me 60 is my choice for underbody and under hood.
Nice Job , the flipper you build is really perfect for your space great thinking on that and very cool you shared the plans for everyone that could use it for free. Keep on building man!
Thanks. This was a crazy idea I drew up originally on graph paper to scale to test
Its function. I guesstimated the center of gravity and seemed to have nailed it for a convertible. It’s a little top
Heavy for a coupe but still
Works. Just have to work a little harder to get it back down over center
Great job! This project is turning out awesome!
Thanks! Update got box of unobtainium, ram air manifolds! so full speed ahead on the exhaust system.
Pretty cool design. My days of flipping cars has passed but love following your work. Looking great!
Glad you like it. It’s been well worth the energy to build it
That's a neat way to get to the underbody. Great work as always.
It sure is!
Very cool do your neighbors give you any problems with the noise
Fortunately I have great neighbors,
Plus most of my garage play days are Wednesdays when most of them
Are at work too. Seems to work out
Looking good, Jon 👍
Right on thanks
Looking good 👍
Thanks 👍
Love it! I am going to build one of those when I get to that point!
Go for it!
I believe,I will take a page out of your book and make one of these great tools for the GT-37!
It’s a great space saver
Plus you can detail out the underbody as well

I can also have the frame in my 2 car garage with my other car inside. Great idea bud!
Great job .....good content and thanks
Thanks and welcome. I have all the engine parts lined up
Now too
Clever tool!
I love it thanks this is the 5th car I have used it on
Great work on car rotisserie
It was worth the effort to build it. Especially since I have used it on 5 cars now
💪😎
😎
Car shows
When and where
@@VinylVillageGarage pretty much every weekend there’s a show gathering etc
Very clever (your bolt on thing-a-jig, not your jokes!). That’s going to be a nice car.
Well can’t win them all evidently comedy won’t be my future career
Great stuff next time your phx…
Thanks
Boooom, more progress. Looking gd. No rubber gloves!
You know it!
Hello! Awesome video as usual. Question. How many paint guns do you have and what brand. Also, air compressor and CFM@40psi. Thanks!
I have 3 paint guns I use on the regular, finish gun/Mac tools brand econo coat 1.3tip , primer gun harbor freight special 1.4-2.0 tips. Then I have one I use for spraying adhesives eBay 2.0 tip
Johnathon , can you post the jig file in the comments
Doesn’t look like I can, I posted it on Facebook
Hey John is there any chance you would email me the diagram for your rotisserie
