Fun fact: when doug bowser interviewed for reggies job he was asked for his cv. He presented a vhs tape of him performing bowsers smash moveset in real life. Nintendo execs thought it was fake, so he breathed fire on the table and dropkicked a woman out the window.
He was hired on the spot.

Mostly revolving around characters fighting together to gain supports, expanding on character personalities and giving them bonuses that make fighting close to their friends beneficial. Some characters can marry and (in some games) may have a child that inherits their combined skills. Perma-death is also a thing, so that you also have the opportunity to tear apart the families and friendships you formed by allowing a unit to be slaughtered on the battlefield due to your tactical idiocy -you absolute monster- . You can turn that off in the recent games though.
