      I see what you mean and that you mean well, but im not sure aly would like to only be known and praised for surviving the abuse she suffered you know?
      Im sure to her, her athletic achievements are very important because of the work she put into getting there.

    Aly Raisman continues to be a sports hero to this day. USAG should seek her out to make the changes needed to prevent these atrocities from occurring. Intelligent, articulate, and experienced, she would make and excellent Olympic official.

    My entire heart goes out all these women, affected by Larry Nassar. You hit it on the head, this was a massive cover up by MANY individuals. Every single last person, and organization, need to be held accountable!!!!!! This is heartbreaking I can only hope that Larry will get what's coming to him in prison. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

      @CROSSTATT 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      connie rahim I agree with you. It disgusts me, but I can't feel surprised that these people want to "acquit" themselves. Yes, Nassar is responsible for his actions, but he's already been sentenced. Raisman is correct, Mr. and Mrs. Karolyi and the Olympic Committee should've know that Larry didn't have a medical license in Texas. Aly is correct to call out all involved.

    Aly has always been so well spoken, a pillar of support for her teammates and gracious without fail to competing teams and individuals. She remains passionate about gymnastics despite the widespread failings of institutions that allowed abuse to flourish. She'd make an excellent lawyer specializing in sports law and in the development of guidelines for every aspect of various sports and how these fit together to form a wholesome and sound program.

    Again, Ms.Raisman.....so well said.....this disgrace is much bigger than one man, Mr.Nassar...it goes to "those in power" in the various Gymnastics organizations.....there must be a grand investigation and those who allowed this exploitation to go on for years, destroying the "hopes and dreams" of young gymnast athletes like yourself......must be brought to justice....right now...

      People don’t like Aly, I guess. A lot of people are wondering why is she the one getting all of this attention and press which I think is ridiculous. If Aly wants to be the one to speak out on her abuse, then more power to her. Maybe the other ladies don’t want that attention. McKayla, Jordyn, Gabby, and Simone are just a few off the top of my head right now who could be doing press but according to their past controversies with the public, maybe it’s smart that they don’t talk as much

    We have to empower girls and women (boys and men too) and provide a platform where people can feel confident in coming forward with their stories, anonymously or not and know that they will find protection from retaliation, where they will find other complaints similar, where they can find counseling, legal aid, etc, etc.

    Aly Raisman back on the Talk show circuit, and still refuses to mention, Bella and Martha Karoli's abuses, and the criminal activity of gymnastic's coaches.

    • @mjamitche5245
      @mjamitche5245 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Aly's coach, Mihai Brestyan was the one who reported to Steve Penny that Larry Nassar was abusing the athletes after he overheard Aly and other gymnasts talking about "the treatments". It was his report that began the process of Larry Nassar being fired from USA Gymnastics. Aly has no reason to speak out against her coach (Brestyan) when he listened to her and helped.

    • @mjamitche5245
      @mjamitche5245 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      However, I do think Bella and Marta are culpable and should be sued for everything they're worth. They are in hot water right now and their heads will likely roll before it is all said and done.

    • @2021kyoto
      @2021kyoto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mjamitche5 There are plenty of coaches that abused gymnasts like Marvin Sharp,and John Geddert,and each one must be prosecuted like Marvin Sharp. Gymnasts must let this fact be known, so that this mess can be cleaned up once, and for all. Although,Marvin was convicted, and went to jail years ago many other coaches have not even seen a courtroom!

    • @2021kyoto
      @2021kyoto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mjamitche5 NO Bella Karoli should be criminally charged for his abuse.He made girls strip down to their underwear and, pinched, as well as scratched them in the abdomin. He also told select Gymnasts that they must lose weight right in front of their peers, and teammates!!! He,as mentioned in one video, encouraged Gymnasts to evaluate each other's bodies while in their underwear.Martha Karoli restricted the Gymnasts food, and drink intake,and they were forced to practice untill they were totally burned out. McKayla Maroney, in her Gymcastic interview even mentioned that Gymnasts trained for 30 straight days in 2012,before leaving for London . Maybe the Karoli's should be deported back to Romania,to save the United States taxpayers from paying for Bella Karoli's incarceration in prison.

    I've not yet heard Raisman or any other World and/or Olympic medal winner suggest returning their medals. IF they really want to make an impact, then they should return their medals to the USOC and IOC. Furthermore, they should also petition these governing bodies to vacate their wins at World and Olympic competitions. Considering what went on, these medals are tainted with criminal behavior at every level.

    • @lindsaysimplyliving803

    Yep, it’s the whole truth, there’s no talk of the drugs the doctors got them all high on, so no ones telling the whole truth and the entire legal process gets manipulated on double meanings of words on a restricted vocabulary. And it ends in everybody’s interest being satisfied with only one person being found guilty( minimum image damage) leaving everyone else implied innocent as they have made it though the supposed investigation.

      Raquel Simon exactly. If Aly wants to do all of this media, then great. She can be the voice for all of the other gymnast. I didn’t even know that Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles were molested by this disgusting pig either until I looked it up the other day. Most people don’t want that kind of attention anyway. I’ve been sexually assaulted and groped and I’m just a regular person and I wouldn’t want that extra attention either. It’s stressful and it can be kind of triggering to have to relive and talk about your abuse over and over again. Let Aly do it if she wants to. The other girl, Rachel, I wouldn’t mind seeing being on more talk shows though.

    WHOA! That was a selective choice of words from the fake-apology that sad excuse for a man made:
    "No words to describe the depth and breadth of how sorry am FOR WHAT HAS OCCURRED" is what he said - showing that he sought to detach himself from WHAT HE HAD DONE and act as though it could have happened all by itself. A true apology involves owning up to what you actually did, not "what has occurred".
    There was a good opportunity to point out the kind of words unrepentant people use and this show sadly missed that opportunity.
    Also, immediately prior to the "No words..." part he spoke about the profound effect that the survivors words had had _on him_ and that _he_ had been shaken to his core. He briefly said that didn't compare to the pain, trauma and destruction that the survivors were feeling, but that was the only part of his apology that wasn't about him.
    If he'd truly been sorry he'd have offered to call out every single person who knew about his abuse and enabled him and be prepared to testify against them - but he didn't.

I hope she gets to see real changes that will turn the tide of sexual abuse for both sexes and that people will not accuse the victim, but stand beside them. The Attorney General of the United States needs to become the forefront of a major investigation into this. Sexual Abuse needs to Stop!

      @@marcushamner5994treating a woman with respect and treating women "like queens" are two different things. It's not respectful to put anybody on a pedestal.
      What you can do is treat women the same way you treat men. That means you treat both genders with equality, and call any disparities you see between how people treat women and men out.

    bravo to her and the survivors for their courage...in sports, entertainment, business, religious institutions, politics, in all areas of society, sexual abuse has been rampant, condoned and protected...i hope a real purging will bring change but i fear, like racism or gun violence, there'll be a lot of hoopla for awhile and then, either a evangelical christian legislative backlash mandating morality or indifference from saturation in this ten second, sensationalist world we've created...

    Everyone said Aly is so strong but what I see is someone trying to take the spot light, why didn't she reported it sooner? All you guys going to say she tried but no one would listen or they just shut her up. The answer was she felt fear, the outcome would be criticism because there was a lot of people behind larry, MSU, and the USA Gymnastic.
    I will tell you story of a lawyer married with three children who knew the risk and impact it could have on her family once her article went public, she did feel fear but she just took action, early on people criticize her but she didn't give up. You see the difference between her and the other victims was when they tried to shut her up she never gave up, even when it could destroy her life. She was the one who started it and the one who ended it.
    The strong and the brave are the ones who face the unknown even when you don't have much people on your side. I believe the march should be in her honor.

      No offense, but it sounds like youre blaming her for what happened to her, which is vile. Not every abuse victim can be brave or be the first one to tell. Instead of blaming her for not being courageous enough to tell the world about the trauma she endured, ask why the board of gymnastics tried to cover it up a long time ago

    • @tianajoiner7852

      WildWing 1955 Wow, watch a news channel or read some articles online...several girls DID come forward, from 20 years ago until now, and they were told by the adult(s) to drop it, or that they were lying, or that what he was doing was appropriate, etc.

    • @WildWing-wl7nj
      @WildWing-wl7nj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a very good answer, Cate. Why weren't charges brought forward years ago? Did the coaches know? Did the parents know? What were they thinking, when this pervert was doing what he was doing? Failure to report a crime is a crime, and it has to be followed through. Were there some enablers? Including parents and coaches? Why now, why not then? Your answer does no good. If it was appropriate then, why not now? And who said it was appropriate back then, as you said? You are wrong. Charges should have come forth long ago, before these women were famous. In addition to the doctor, I suspect the coaches and others are guilty.

      WildWing 1955 Your post makes no sense. My answer contains FACTS only, not opinions. Like I said, maybe you should watch the news, read some interviews, familiarize yourself with the facts and timeline of this scandal...obviously you’ve done none of this as evidenced by your uninformed comments and abundance of questions that can easily be answered by doing basic research. Sadly, you’re too lazy to educate yourself but are still trying to be relevant by posting on TH-cam about a hot topic you know nothing about.

    • @WildWing-wl7nj
      @WildWing-wl7nj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, but your post has no facts, only emotion. If these crimes started long ago, they should have been reported, charged, and litigated. That was not done until now. A lot of enablers I suspect. And you are full of words, but no substance. If the athletes were being abused, charges should have been brought, and if not, their parents should have taken them out of this program. Sorry, but your profuse words are nothing. Assault, on the other hand, is chargeable, and should have been done long ago, rather than now.

  • @frankjuppa1468

    Doctors interviewed for this story were hesitant to talk specifically about Nassar's medical techniques, since there are recognized forms of intravaginal manipulation that help relieve pain for patients. Some common ones include pelvic floor therapy and myofascial release, both of which focus on manually adjusting muscles inside the vagina.
    Dr. Jamie Bartley, an osteopathic urologist for Beaumont Health Systems in metro Detroit, performs manual examinations of pelvic floor muscles inside the vagina, and sometimes refers patients with back, hip or pelvic pain to physical therapists for pelvic floor therapy.
    She and Dr. J. Bryan Dixon, a sports-medicine doctor in Marquette, said it is important practitioners explain the procedure to patients and get their consent before performing intravaginal manipulations.
    "In some patients, it's definitely indicated and very helpful, as long as it's performed with mutual consent," Bartley said.

      @tianajoiner7852 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Frank Juppa No one is disputing it’s a legitimate and legal medical procedure...when it’s done in the correct context using proper procedures. Nassar did this procedure on minors without parental consent, with ungloved hands, as part of his routine treatment regardless of type of injury. Gymnasts have said he “treated” sprained ankles with this procedure. That is complete b.s. and no legit doctor would speak out in support of Nassar.
