Secret Boss "Father Rodin"
[Nonstop Climax - Platinum]
** WILL CONTAIN FULL SPOILERS!! **
** WAIT FOR HD QUALITY!! **
LL finally completed the game by finishing the secret boss in Bayonetta... Father Rodin!
No Kilgore-Combo or Panther-Offset exploit used, but instead a tactic LL worked out on his own (which is extremely effective against him).
Conditions:
Acquire a total of 10 million halos throughout your gameplay. This will allow you to buy the Platinum Ticket for only 1 million to fight him.
{Equipments}
Weapons: Pillow Talk (Laser Beam Sword) & Kilgore
Accessories:
Evil Harvest Rosary - When I dodge, it release an magical explosion. Best accessory for Nonstop Climax Mode since you can't use Witch Time.
Climax Bracers - Allow you to use Wicked Weaves (like against the Bosses)
{Tactic}
On Nonstop Climax Mode, Rodin can pretty much own you in 3-4 attacks, it takes a huge chunk of your life away. Also the lower HP you get him down, the faster and more aggressive he is.
Facing him straight off is a terrible idea since he usually evade your attack and counters... which is the key to beating him for my tactic.
{Tactic 1 = Far Range}
All I use is Kilgore Wicked Weaves to heavily damage him (which I trick him into evading into my 2nd and 3rd Wicked Weaves).
It worked so well that I never need to use my 2nd tactic against him when he's close range...
{Tactic 2: Melee Range}
Using the Rosary to cancel his melee combo against me while I dodge it, I can quickly retaliate with a PP*hold release* combo with my PillowTalk which can deal a nice 1/4 to 1/2 of his life bar away.
I included a second battle against him (which was one of my previous attempts against him on my recording).. to show you how crazy he is at the end.. plus his best attack (aka. Raging Angel, as I would call it).
"Raging Angel" takes 99% of your life away.. BUT will also kill you if you have less than 50% of your life left too!

one of the best ways to do it:
-Go to Chapter VII
-Equip Selene's Light and Gaze of Despair as your accessories
-Equip Durga (Lightning Mode) as your hands weapon
-Mash Y/Triangle. just keep mashing on that attack button and keep an eye on your multiplier. You should be getting it pretty high on the arms (5000x9.9), and once you get rid of both arms, try to NOT break the combo on the body orbs. it'll automatically give you the halos before you fight the head, so just build the mult. (9999x9.9)
all of his hits are ridiculously strong. hes one of the toughest bosses ive ever faced (at least on Nonstop Climax)

What are you talking about?
The Rodin weapon can be either obtained by beating Rodin or bought for 3 million halos.
The platinum ticket can be bought any number of times, to fight Rodin any number of times.
If you already have the Rodin weapon, the reward for beating him each time will be a red hot shot.
And the green laser sword, Pillow Talk, is obtained from either beating NSIC mode or buying it for 1 million halos.
I just started playing (finished on normal, working through hard) and this is a great game. About this strategy - one little tweak to make it perfect - instead of constantly backing away you need to inch forward as you push him back. Once he is "out of the ring" all he will do is try to come back -straight back; right into more foot missiles. I pushed him way out there and just kept spamming the kick missiles until he was over and done. He had no chance once he got pushed out of the ring.
If no one, catched the reference at the end of rodin's attack, it was the satsui no hadou,also known as akuma's Raging demon from the street fighter games
he also makes resident evil 4 references. somtimes he'll say "hey check this out, whadya buyin?" "Heh heard that in a video game once" referring to the merchant in resident evil 4...rodin is so epic
Yeah, first time I fought him. I didn't notice any difference because I was dead in about 6 seconds...
This guy was such a pain in the ass to learn and beat...
Climax Bracelet, turns Bayonetta into serious mode which allows her to use wicked weaves at will
those launching kick attacks do soo much damage.
yeah rodin is a weapon, actually angelic weapons all in one, its the weapons from the angels she fights.
not sure if you know this, whenever you fight him, it will automatically set you to nonstop climax difficulty
there is no way to fight him in any other difficulty
i love how rodin is eclectic
@TheOneTitan OK, after looking at his battle, this is what he has equipped. He uses the Pillow Talk light saber, Lt Kilgore rocket launchers on his feet. He has the Climax Bracelet and the Evil Harvest Rosary equipped as accessories, but no Immortal Marionette. If you do this, be sure you don't equip the Immortal Marionette, that accessory, though making you more powerful and faster, doesn't work well with the weaves he is doing in the video.
I wonder. Has anyone tried equipping the gaze of despair while fighting him. If he is a monster now, he must be a fucking nightmare with that on, if not impossible.
Akuma better check this shit out. He's a demon, Rodin's an angel, and they both know the Shun Goku Satsu.

Rodin is a fallen angel. His "old self" IS an angel.
I bet even Gene From God Hand would have a tough time fighting this guy with both god hands more than any other fight he has been through in his game.
Wow I can't believe I'm saying this but this battle is better then Jeanne and Father Balder combined with Cereza. This is utterly amazing! Catastrophically amazing!!
@TheOneTitan He equipped the Climax Bracelet and probably the Gaze of Despair accessory along with having Lt Kilgores on hos feet to do those leg shot that also come out as wicked weaves.
I can say, that I am a pretty good gamer.. I'm playing for more than 10 years now and I also hadn't big problems with finishing Climax mode.. But Rodin.. Oh my god, this guy is just sooo fucking hard -.-

Here's a funny thing.
Rodin said that he wouldn't put a chainsaw on Bayonetta's arm no matter how many times she asked, but when Rodin gives her the weapon known as "Rodin," He technically did put a chainsaw on her arm. XD
well i like seeing spoiler's im an impatient person and those weapons man!!! how long did it take you to get them i just beat normal cause i got the game three days ago i hate collecting halos and doing things the long way i like to cheat i guess im just a bad gamer

I didn't think Climax brace worked in this fight.
Can you fight him again after beating him? The cutscene seems to suggest you can buy another ticket and fight him again.
at the end of the level, you should have a combo score somewhere between 8,000,000 and 12,000,000 (divide your score by approx. 10, and that's the amount of halos you will be rewarded)
Oh yeah, the charge attack he used in the beginning of the vid is done by holding R1/RT...for a long time.
I'm struggling to beat him atm, would Climax Bracers help a lot?

I would have done that too, if I had known that a simple weapon could beat him more easily then the best weapon in the game. As matter of fact I used Kilgore's wicked weave attacks on every boss, because it was the best thing to use for me at the time.

@souloftwilight the sword?, well its name is "pillow talk" but this weapon is a reference to Zero from megaman X, in other word's the weapons sub name is the Z-Saber
Considering time frames, I'd think it more along the lines of The Infinite One, meeting a young Akuma and teaching him the "angelic" version of this attack, which Akuma later changed into Raging Demon.
But it's just a theory.

Quite frankly, I don't think a chainsaw arm really suits Bayonetta anyway.

@undeadyk 10 000 000? well i have a lot of work 2 do i think i only have 10 000 or maybe that much, i need to check i haven't played it in a while
it is. but its really hard. you have to hit him allot of times without those wicked weaves to get the combo's up. BUT this makes it harder to complete it within a desired time. if you are trying to get the pure platinum on him then best of luck to ya!
@GayLPer well hes actually not a lumen sage at all, he is an angel, because rodin fallen from paradiso and the platinum ticket is the thing that has rodin's angel power.and also the fact that he has a halo behind his head which signifies he is an angel

The Rodin weapon and another item for beating him a second time is the Red Hot Shot.

what you could do is make a save file so if he beats you just turn off your game and select that same save file again.
