Every year here in Britain, Channel 4 used to air the edited highlights of the Toy Show on the Monday after the Friday show, usually from 5pm to 6pm. Hard to squeeze a 2.5 hour show into 52 minutes, but they managed to alright. It was the only way we could see the Late Late Show in Britain.
@@BruceDanton-xw6eg Channel 4 executives came over to RTE in Dublin to watch an edition of The Late Late Show in early 1984 and they were shocked that the whole show lasted over 2 hours. No British talk show has ever gone on for that long. They were worried if they could edit it down to 52 minutes, but they managed to. They usually edited out the long 45 to 50 minute debates about Irish issues, and also edit out Irish only competitions and Irish guests who the British audience wouldn't know.
@@johnking5174 indeed of course too that would have been right. I think the longest British show would have been an hour anyway so they edited it so too.
Many impersonators, but only one gay Byrne .They were the good old days ,when everything was so simple and easy. Pity everything has to be so politically correct now.
