On “Spenser: For Hire”, the character of Hawk (Avery Brooks) was defined by his sharp outfits, streetwise manner, his own personal code, sunglasses (even wore at night) and the incredibly large long barreled Colt Python 357. Magnum revolver that he carries with him nearly everywhere. He most often acted as a street resource for his private detective friend Spenser (Robert Urich). Notably, Hawk has a clean shaved head, well before Michael Jordan and all other male celebrities popularized the look in the 1990s and 2000s. Hawk became less than of an anti-hero and more of a traditional champion of the people that needed help and could not fight for themselves. A deeper personal history was developed for the character, and Hawk became more of a Renaissance man, displaying talents for boxing, chess, playing jazz music, and an appreciation of fine African arts.

Did you read the books? You gotta read the books. I started reading them after Robert B. Parker's death. Such a great author. :)
If your child has your last name that is catchy.
Spenser Spellman yep nice ring.
So you name him after the white dude are you kidding me what are you even doing here.
@@atomicpressure5112 Stop being stupid and racist lol.
@@atomicpressure5112 That way she can address her son the same way Hawk did his friend: "Spen-SAAAHH!"
Hawk is the True MAC Daddy, cool as a winter day ..an awesome Lady’s man with some righteous fire power..
Either my man Avery was a good ass actor or he was a boxer at one point in his life. The way he hitting that heavy bag looks like he had some training.
Can you just see 'Hawk', having the run of 'Deep Space Nine'!?!
Walter D Wormack
Where am I going to by a decent lunch for $100
Lmfao 😆😁😁😁
Dax was Spenser
Mmm hmm (See what I did there?)
Get your geek ass out of here
11:20 "clothes finally where they belong". No, this man was NO body's "sidekick".
Before Denzel's =lizer.....There was a man called Hawk....👊🏿
I loved Hawk- SUCH a badass...lol.
I used to watch this show growing up (was born in '79) but, I don't remember any particular episode.
...But what I DO remember is how badass Hawk was, and how badass his CARS were.
And I remember how shocking it was when Robert Ulrich passed away.
It was around 2007 that I started reading the books by Robert Parker. Before that, I- being a dumb kid- had no idea the Spenser show on TV was based on a book series.
I'm fixing to watch the NEW Spenser movie (Mark Wahlberg) just to see how entertaining it is.
Don't waste your time with that movie lol. That is NOT Spenser and that's for damn sure NOT Hawk!
