One of many notable snubs, through Three Dog Night was mostly pop music. Edgier bands like Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Kansas, Thin Lizzy, Styx, Blue Oyster Cult,Foreigner probably deserve to be selected in before them. R&RHOF is a joke anyway.

You can hear each lyrical line saturating Chuck Negron's soul. And it was delivered in the most compassionate way! The organ finale culminates the song's strong message! CLASSIC!!!!
I love this song but it makes me cry. Made me cry back then, even as a kid - and made me cry tonight. Wishing our society could be just a little bit kinder....
That man's voice has always knocked me out. Three Dog Night is a big part of the soundtrack to my life (& for millions of others). They were one of those very few bands where nobody would, or could, make fun of you for liking. I know of no one who didn't dig them.
This song displays Chuck Negron's great vocals he is the one with the mustache. The three lead singers had great harmony singing. Three Dog Night had a ton of hits back in the 70's. I seen them live several times and they put on great shows. Easy to be hard and Mama told me not to come is one of my favorites.👍👍
@@LauraBernards-v1q Politics is tricky. It is easy to get caught on one side or the other. Killing children is hard to justify on either side. Remember who started this genocide. Maybe 'The Knife' is a better song to illustrate my point (from the band Genesis). A knife can cut either way.
Well, from what I've been reading, while the israeli soldiers have killed mostly civilians, the palestinians target the israelis. That's what I'm reading. I'm reading a book "The hundred years' war on Palestine," by Rashil Khalidi. I'm trying to look at both sides, but I still side with the Palestinians.

Great reaction to a great song. I've always liked Three Dog Night and saw them in concert once. In my opinion this is their best song, and I'm so glad that you reacted to it. This song is so beautiful and heart felt, that I almost get tears in my eyes. Many people doing reactions, that react to Three Dog Night songs, don't have enough sense to react to this one. Again I'm glad that someone finally did.
The first time I heard the song was in the movie "Hair" and was sung by a woman. My favorite song fron the movie. Then I heard Three Dog Night version. Very good as well.
Great song! The version from the "Live" album is really amazing!! Originally from the musical "HAIR." A girl sings it about a guy who is all into "social justice" but is cruel/dismissive of her.
@johnbrowne2170 Amazing my younger teachers at our high school displayed the soundtrack to prove they were still cool. I believe my wife saw the OG cast perform, too (I did not). She really appreciated Nell Carter!
This song has always been of my favourites of Three Dog Night and made me fall in love with Chuck Negron. ❤ Originally sung by Lynne Kellogg in 1968 in the Rock musical Hair, the emotion Chuck poured into this version is so emotional and pulls at your heart strings. 😢 Such a sad song that sadly still sums up our world situation today. 😢 From their 1969 album, "Suitable For Framing', this song jumped up the charts, Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100's and Number 1 in Canada. Three Dog Night had 21 songs on the Billboard Top 40's, 3 made it to Number 1. Beautiful instrumentation from start to finish, ❤ , Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Terry. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Chuck Negron is one of the greatest singers ever in my opinion. Cory Welles and Danny Hutton are great also. Very successful group from 68 maybe to 75. Cory did a phenomenal job covering Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding.
Three Dog Night had many hits. Easy To Be Hard was their third hit of 1969, followed by their 4th, Eli's Coming. Another great song, which, BTW, was written by Laura Nyro, & first released on her fabulous 1968 LP, Eli & The Thirteenth Confession. If you haven't listened to that album yet, treat yourself. You'll be so glad you did!!!!!
This song, Easy to Be Hard, you need to watch live! If you think you hear emotion, his face adds even more, Chuck Negron's face always gave every song he sang told a total story that it belonged to him alone!!!! ❤❤❤
Yes!! Fully engaged. All in. Great song, great vocalists delivering award-worthy performances, superb band. Any version from a cast of 'Hair', whether the original cast or another, is well worth a listen too. 😘🤙🎶❤️✨️🕊
Another one from my youth. Brings me back to the days when I went around with rose colored glasses until life taught me lessons - just like described in the song. Touches deep in the heart
The song is from the off broadway musical play; "Hair". I happened to be standing on Broadway when that was playing with a couple of Marine comrades of mine. Instead of going to see "Hair" we decided to go to a theater and watch "Tora-Tora_Tora". A decision I regret to this day!
It’s funny how as we age we regret decisions not made. Retired military here, and I can tell if I had been with you guys I would have seen the movie too. “ Hair” was a polar opposite portrayal of life than what Marines experienced back then. Can’t see how it would’ve been pleasant at all.
I saw Three Dog Night in concert 3 times in the early 70’s. They are all amazing singers and put out a lot if hits. I recommend “Joy to the World” by this great trio. I’m really enjoying your channel. Thanks for doing what you do.
Three Dog Night, Grand Funk Railroad and The Guess Who are the trifecta of a 70's classic rock genre. I made a mix tape of those 3 bands. One of my favorites. My mom loved it too since it was her generation. 🙂
“ Out in the Country” has always been my favorite song from Three Dog Night. Danny, Cory and Chuck were indeed a force to be reckoned with in the 70’s and 80’s . Saw them on a twin bill with America in the mid 80’s. Great show. Loved the reaction, Hari. Your empathy towards children is very genuine and awesome. Please go see the movie “ Sound of Freedom “ while it in theatres, hopefully in the UK soon. Cheers from the US
I saw them play with America also and I thought they went in the wrong order. Three Dog Night got everybody all peppy and then you got so many slower tunes like "Horse With No Name" coming from America. It was a great show anyway, but I've always thought America should have gone first.
@@anneschreck5136 Good point. Maybe that’s why my girlfriend back then thoughtAmerica was the better group, being last up. Interesting. Both bands were great. So what’s your opinion regarding Chuck Negron? He has tried for decades to be back in the band, ever since he cleaned himself up.
@@chuckhutton5087 I think Chuck was such an integral part of the band, but it's hard to know what he put the others through during his addiction. Some context to the lyrics, this song is in the libretto of the musical HAIR, and was sung onstage by a woman. She had a baby out of wedlock with her boyfriend, who has just left her with the child. Basically it is heartbreaking in a way that women have always understood, to this day. I remember sobbing when it was performed. I saw the play in 1971 in Seattle and a couple of my friends were in the cast. It can be generalized to all people and Chuck Negron gives an amazing performance.
They started out playing the Whiskey-a-go-go in LA and blew everyone's socks off. They're backup band was phenomenal and their harmonizing was sublime. Damn, they were good!!

Three Dog Night is an American rock band from the 60's-70's. This band had a lot of energy. They had 3 guys with great voices that could all sing lead vocals. You've done quite a few of their songs. Some others are "An Old Fashioned Love Song", "Joy To The World", "Celebrate", "Liar", "Black & White" etc.
