Message from a professional: Do not go back to that stylist.. she did the whole process completely incorrect and it looked very uneven in the end. You are supposed to start with the midshaft & ends, and then do the roots last. DOESNT matter if youre using a lower volume for the roots. And DO NOT BLEACH TWICE in one day. Yikes. Not to mention she was trying to speed it up with a blowdryer... Do not put heat when there is bleach on scalp, and heat from a blowdryer like that will not hit the hair evenly when its all twisted up in a processing cap. Not to mention putting heat on it after bleaching twice in one day. Double yikes.
This!!!! Exactly! Made the mistake of letting my "friend" who has been a "stylist" for years do my roots. That bitch damaged my hair so bad. She bleached twice, toner and let me put in silver shampoo and let me sleep with it. Half of my hair broke off. And the funny part is, I went from black to platinum blonde in say about 6-8 months and neverrrr had anything go wrong with my original stylist.
Yeah I would have put her hair in foils then gone back in and done the roots.. it would have lifted better in one sitting and taken the same amount of time imo
You're supposed to do roots first. Your ends will be super fried if you do them first and they're the weakest part of your hair. The roots are the healthiest and tend to take longer to process versus your ends so it's better for your hair to do the roots first since they're less porous. My sister is a cosmetologist, this is what they teach you. A lot of times if the ends are already lightened enough they'll leave them out to prevent further damage. I'm surprised the hair stylist in this video didn't tone the hair though. You can see warm blotches throughout the back and the ends of the hair. I wouldn't leave without getting that fixed. It's okay to have warm tones left in the hair after going from black to blonde, but I'd be upset with blotches after going to a professional and getting it done properly.
1. Bleaching the roots first should be a crime. 2. Very dark hair should have multiple sessions before reaching levels 8 to 10 3. This bleach job looks so blotchy.
Okay so as a cosmetology student am i the only one who was really confused as to why there was a dog in the salon lol. Cause im sure the only animal your allowed to have in a salon is a fish lmao
Alexis Hilton sure its based on the owner or manager. There are service animals and dogs I'm sure you can tAke with you anywhere except like some place very sanitary
victoria Lopez yeah wth I'm not hating on her but I'm mad the hairstylist let her leave with yellowy orange hair with gray blotches all over. When that toner rinses out its gonna be like white blonde with yellow and orange spots cause I can see the dark yellow on the bottom
What do you expect going pitch black to almost platinum blonde? You'll never get an evenly blonde all through the hair after bleaching and toning once in 3 hours.
Martinecarina that's not the point boo the point is she has 3/4 diff colors in her hair. I've seen ppl even do it themselves and they can get it to look way better than this terrible job. Deuces.
Um, nope, that hairdresser is not good, please don't ever return with her and please anyone who has dark hair and want platinum hair don't ever do it the same day, just google it, bleach dark hair is a slow work so any hairdresser who do it in a 1 or 2 sessions is wrong and is frying your hair.
Chiara Santo yeah, is possible, anyone can do it, even i did it once against my will but bleaching the hair from black to platinum in one or two sessions the same day or week or even the same month is really damaging. The true hair professionals emphasize that the process should be slow, if you don't believe me go and watch some Guy Tang's vids, he's like the god of bleaching.
This. My Stylist refused to let me go blonde the same day. Took me almost a year coming in..went from Black, to brown, to blonde very slowly but my hair is healthy and beautiful. Not fried or straw-like.
it's because you're meant to take your time putting bleach on dyed black hair. i'm currently in the process of going from black to blonde. my hair is a little patchy right now, but it's brown, not blonde. it took three hours to try and make it look even, and then they're leaving it for five weeks, then bleaching again. that's what you're supposed to do, not do it in all one go, and especially not start roots first.

Girly this damages the fuck out of your hair especially when you rush the process like this. Your gonna love it at first but it's gonna be a bitch to keep up with and your gonna miss your healthy hair
Yeah I did this a couple of times where I bleached my hair in quick succession, and it's worth the wait. Healthier hair is less maintenance in the long run. Just buy some cute bandanas and scarves to tie your hair up in between the ugly between stages
I use manic panic, ultra violet mixed with white conditioner. I bought the really big conditioners. I basically mix it slowly with a brush until the conditioner turns mid violet (not too light, not too dark). I apply it on dry hair and then I cover it with a plastic bag and a shower cap and leave it for two hours. It's how I maintain my ash blond hair. It worked for me. I'm using the amplified label of manic panic as it lasts longer. My ash blond hair usually lasts 2-3 weeks and I shampoo twice per week and condition three times.
Love the blonde on you! Although I don't think going black to blond in 3 hours is all that healthy for your hair. There's a reason why the bleaching process requires a lot of time and sessions (and some of it should be dedicated to treating you hair with things like Olaplex). Best of luck to you and your new hair!
ok if you're happy then im happy you love your hair. you look so cute as a blonde. BUT omg she did so many things wrong... 1 bleaching your roots first 2 leaving the bleach on your hair for so long 3 using a blowdryer on the bleach OMF 4 bleaching it again the same day 5 using the blow dryer again like babeeee you could have done this is such a more healthier way
It took me nearly a year going from black to blonde. My hair is super healthy, and blonde is all evenly distributed. This is so bad.. 😭 After seeing your hair orange I knew it wouldn’t be good.
Dark hair when being lightened will always turn orange. The color wheel is a great reference. Dark orange, light orange then yellow, then blonde. A lot of factors can determine how long it takes for your hair to get lighter. The brand of bleach, how high a developer you use, and you can achieve it fairly quickly and maintain your hair health. Not in 3 hours, but it doesnt take a year lol
@@KB-zh4dx My hair is black. I'm rocking a short pixie now. I have about 50% gray and I'd like to go to an ash light brown to blend those pesky grays. I'm going to see the colorist tomorrow. I told her to do a strand test in several areas. I'm pretty sure my super short hair is virgin hair. I have been using Demi brown to color the gray hair for a few months. I'm super nervous because I don't want to damage my healthy hair. If all else fails I can always Demi color it dark brown. Fingers crossed.
@@69mjle a pixie is real short and close to the scalp. The heat from your head will actually help it lighten alot faster. And if your worried about the health you can ask them to use olaplex. It protects the hair during the lightening process. But its usually used when going from black to platinum. It's just an additive that doesn't actually color the hair just protects it. Good luck😀
For anyone who wants to go lighter from a very dark hair, make sure you have taken very well of your hair before going through this process as it is quite damaging to your hair. For ex. doing hair masks, applying oils (vitamin e, jojoba, castor, olive & coconut oil)!!! And dont forget to keep doing the same thing after your hair has been dyed and/or bleached. It keeps it from over drying, becoming more brittle and frail since it brings back the moisture and nutrients. It will take time but with proper care and consistency, your hair will rejuvenate. *** There is a product called a toner which is used in the mix or after bleaching that neutralizes the yellow or orange color so when dye is applied to the hair, it looks more natural and even. You can purchase it at a beauty shop. (:
As soon as your video started I knew it was Vancouver. I can tell my hometown from anywhere!! So I gotta go to a salon :) Currently in WA. Missing blond hair. Thanks for the video!
I’m jealous of how fast that was, I bleached all of my hair once and then died it pink in one day and it took 8 hours (I have a lot of thick hair) it was exhausting lol
Omg you look awesome! And that dog is so cute haha :D I feel like you would look amazing with any hair colour tbh, like even that first yellow looked super cool I thought 😊

The roots are at last. Idk why she did them at first.
omg whyyyyy did she put the bleach on the roots first no no no

Zoe Springer ehy
if i tried this it would’ve been called “from black hair to bald in 3 hours”
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
bleaching the roots first and using a blowdryer?? does this woman have a license? you could have better results just following a youtube tutorial...
Plus the fact that she put her hair in space buns. With the blow dryer.
If brad mondo taught us anything it’s to NEVER start from the roots!!
Love your best life and start an inch away from the scalp
exactlyyyyy!!
As soon as I saw her touching your roots first I would storm out of the salon.
YASSSS!!! That.
Omg I panicked when I saw that to, like "NOPE BYE!"
"Fuck this shit I´m out" :D

No you're not! The roots are done last because they process SUPER fast. If you do the roots first you risk hot roots - it's a rookie mistake.
Ohh no girl she fucked up, you can still see yellow & kinda looks gray
1. Bleaching the roots first should be a crime.

Not being rude but this is a mess. You are cute though, find a better hairstylists!
MM BB *still comes out rude* lol
I wouldn't pay for that. You got 3 diff colors in your hair..
Cristina Steezee I thought I was the only one that noticed! As a bleached blonde myself I could see the banding from a mile and a half away.
What do you expect going pitch black to almost platinum blonde? You'll never get an evenly blonde all through the hair after bleaching and toning once in 3 hours.

Jade Stringer I know!!! It’s not even at all...it’s almost impossible to do in one sitting anyway but still lol
Christina is right. It's a poorly done job. Going from black to blonde is not easy, but this colour needs more work to be OK.
..that spaghetti hair texture when she revealed it to her in the mirror 😷😷

also did u see how uneven the toner was?? left purple tinge to some strands smh

Because her hair wasn’t virgin... she already dyed her hair and she went for a dark tint to an extreme bleach
i thought u do roots lasts since theyre the warmest part
jenico.t she did a lower volume so they needed longer to process, if u use the same volume from roots to end then yes do them last!
It's done because it's the healthiest part of your hair and takes very fast.
sushi koi no they process faster because there right on the scalp so its warmer than the rest of the hair lol
Yup. she did the whole process wrong, and the finished product looks very uneven
First thing I noticed. And you can see it in the results. Yuk
