    I had this between 2010-2012. Was really a great phone and still feels premium even nowadays.

    I had this phone and it was terrific for the time. Loved the big screen and loaded up the sd card with movies and tv shows to watch on my commute.

    This is the most memorable phone I ever had. You could have almost anything you want, software wise (literally almost anything, except iOS). I doubt we will ever get a gem like this one.

    remember on my pocket pc being really excited for the apples attempt and then i realized i couldn't copy and paste text or it had no text to speech so i went back to my pocket pc
    also had an htc hd 2 and you could transfer your files with a usb lead you just needed a piece of software that made the connection i think it was called Windows Mobile Device Center
    with that software you could also get your screen up on the pc desktop and you control the phone from your desktop
    that also allowed you to back your phone up as well to your computer you could also use it to sink your windows computer software to the mobile version of the software like microsoft money and outlook programs like that you could sync and you could also dedicate a folder to sync to your htc hd 2

    I loved that phone! Also had android or Windows mobile

    I loved mine and I remember how amazed people were when I'd show them it compared to other phones. it did things great but once you get outside of sense ui and into Windows mobile 6.5 you start to see the downsides of the main os.
    I used to get a lot of app crashes and found myself having to kill and restart processes within task manager. What made me get rid of mine in the end was hearing how it wouldn't get the upcoming windows mobile 7, which looked really cool at the time. I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I decided to go Android and got the HTC Desire after this, which was another great phone.
    Little did I know the HD2 would become a modders dream and would end up with Win mob 7 being ported to it anyway!! But I'll never forget the wow factor of this phone. I can't recall any other handset feeling so amazing to me. Perhaps previously the Nokia 5110 and the Sony Ericsson k750i but I'm going way back and off topic now.

    No problems sending files between Windows XP-11 PCs and HD2, you even have to options to do that via usb cable: using ActiveSync and USB MassStorage. Maybe something wrong with author's device. Great device with beautiful interface, laaaarge RAM for its OS, only camera was so-so, but that was in most Windows CE devices that time.

  • @RKingis
    @RKingis 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    WinMo was originally Windows CE, or Project Pegasus. It was created in the mid to laye 90's. WinMo is built atop of WinCE.

      Windows CE also powered the saga Dreamcast and was where Microsoft got its feet wet in the gaming industry.

      Also, WinMo is different from Windows Phone. People almost always mistake the 2 OSes as the same thing.

    I had this. It was my first capacitive touch screen smart phone (my first "smart phone" being the Nokia 3650. Lol). I used to watch so much TH-cam on the HD2. Awesome phone. Modded the heck out of that thing.

    I was always impressed by this phone when it came out! I never had one but I remember reading reviews and being amazed (I did have the Touch Pro 2 from HTC around that time though and I still look back fondly on that one and it had a lot of similarities with this one)

    I remember getting this phone and I was told it was to big and screens should not be this big 😂😂 same was said when I got my HTC Titan. Miss these old devices and HTCs UI. It still looks good and I still find it funny how ios and android don't look much different to Windows mobile I still think Windows Phone is the best is I have used and like alot if the tech world has definitely lost this be different look where alot are the same now.

    • @settlece

      Nokia didn't use windows mobile it used Symbian
      Nokia was almost dead by the time it reached when it used the windows phone operating system wp which was nothing like windows mobile
      Symbian os killed it because they bought them and they reluctantly would not switch from using it

    • @Zung92
      @Zung92 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@settlece They killed because CEO came from Microsoft and decided to get rid of Maemo OS and exclusively use Windows Phone. They don't even want a phone with Android that time

    This was by far the WORST phone I ever had. I wouldn't wish this phone on my worst enemy. There are soooo.... many bugs, glitches, and hardware problems.
    I seriously went through at least five insurance claims for this piece of you know what. Every single replacement had the same exact problems after two months.

    I've bought 5 or so hd2's while I could still find them for 10€ hahaha gotta try get some new batteries and have some fun. Back when it was new it was beyond my budget but to be fair my HTC blue angel ran 99% of the windows software flawless, probably even better than HD2 with the unusual resolution for the WM
