HAL is for a slow vibe. I'll be on it for my 2nd time this winter. My first sailing cruising was this ship a decade ago in my mid 20s and now I'm almost 40 and going back. My cousin and I were by FAR among the youngest on the ship and we had a blast just by ourselves. Taking my senior citizen aunt with me this time Other cruise lines don't have padded chairs out on the decks everywhere and robes in your rooms!!!!😮
Thanks so much for the tour. I think I’m just plain old. I miss the ambiance of last century’s Rotterdam, et al. Not sleek. Not nothing. Just elegant. I’m now widowed, and childless. (Family passed away this time of year.) I don’t have all that much money, though I might swing something if I didn’t own a home. The ld vibe isn’t there.
In contrast to what others say I find this ship exciting. It has a ton of lounges in it and that, to me, is what makes a ship a ship vs. a place to go to for certain features. My best memories are on ships are in lounges, mostly. The ship kept its HAL look and feel and spaces and that's crucial for repeating pax and loyal pax of the line. If you don't like this style, then there are other lines. HAL should keep its fleet at a reasonable size and hopefully, just like this ship. I think it's magnificent.
I sailed on the Zuiderdam to Alaska in April 2022. I like the ship. She is getting older and there are a couple of places like in my state room where the laminate on the desk was separated and chipped. She is a little darker inside than I am use too. Overall, she is a good size ship. She has a wrap around promenade. I like to cruise to relax. Not climb rock walls or slide down into a pool. If anyone asks, yes I would recommend.

Hi! Love your channel!! Quick question regarding how to do full time travel without a home: what do you use as an address for tax documents and bank statements, etc? Of course I am not asking for your address! Just what you use…a friend or family member’s address, a PO Box, etc.?
Im cruising on this ship in January thru the Panama Canal. I was a bit worried as this is older and smaller than the ships ive been on b4. But after viewing this preview i have no qualms of taking it. 😊
Where is everyone? We have never sailed Holland America so I’m researching. Is this normal? I was curious if my kids would enjoy this but vs Royal Caribbean, this ship does seem soooo quiet?!??
I've only been on Royal Caribbean, but will go on this ship in a couple days. I would say Royal Caribbean is much better for families. My brother and I loved the kids and youth activities they had when we were growing up and it is a much more family oriented line than Holland America.
OK I’m desperately trying to find a reason to cruise on this cruise line. This video did not help. The video was pretty and put together beautifully, but really the whole ship tour . I believe she ran into nobody I understand but come on closing all the bars, restaurants and pulling all of the heavy drapes makes it really seem dark and dingy. no thanks sorry

Look at the variety of public spaces on this ships. Some larger ships don't have this variety.
