Mike, thank you for the fantastic updates with NO click bait - great to have a trusted source of information from people who genuinely care about #Lanzarote and give so much interesting current and historical information. I love the weekly news on TH-cam and also the newsletter
Hi Mike thank you for the update I hope they fix the water problem espically for the rural people and those poor farmers ..I hope it be fixed by the time I and my husband and autistic grandaughter go over in October we love lanzarote, wev been going 20 years now.love it cheers Mike
We arrived on Thursday for the next 4 weeks and I can confirm it’s rather hot yesterday and today. We were at Orzola this morning and even over there is was warmer than we used too. Keep up the good info Mike! Much appreciated! Cu Kristiaan and family
Mike Another great informative video, we regularly visit Lanzarote & love it on the water situation, a small visitor tax paid by visitors of €10 per party/trip paid into a service / infrastructure fund would make a difference and also may show to some of the locals that we are inputting to the island . I know a bit pie in the sky but surely 3 million visitors should be able to make a difference to the quality of services on the island ( I know we 1/2 the problem)but they would still need the system whether it had tourists or not . This could be collected at the airport
A couple of the political parties here advocate what you describe, calling it an “Eco Tax.” So it’s something that may come at one time in the future, but it has been rejected for the current parliamentary term.
No surprise at your success. Quality research and presentation. We only visit a couple of times a year (a bit of a story there), we started in 2021. Your info is always very interesting.
Thoroughly enjoyable and educational on such a widely disparate range of topics; as a long term Fanzarote this YT channel is an excellent information source and has significantly increased my knowledge of what were hitherto gaps. Thanks Mike and keep up the good work 😊
El Golfo used to be a favourite tour area. Interesting facts on Lanzarote volcanoes as I thought they were only in the 1700s. From Iceland and Etna/Stromboli and La Palma a couple of years ago it's been interesting viewing them on YT.
Hi Mike great video thanks, we visit many times throughout the year in particular Faro park in Playa Blanca & rent various Villas, each time we view different properties with an aim to eventually buy, unfortunately we have noticed the increase in dog mess left on the coastal path & adjoining walkways, whilst i have noticed the authorities clean up the main path the other paths are left, this is so disturbing as when walking on an evening it can be so uncomfortable and outside some very expensive properties, speaking to residents that love the area there appears to be a certain disrespect to the community, do the authorities have any control over this or is there a council body i could voice my concerns to, keep up the great work many thanks Regards Alan Sheeran.
Love to see the plans on helping the whales ❤. Would it be possible to make a video on the best fresh produce the island has to offer and where to go for the best fish, fruit and veg?
They are hoping to get permission to allow small cruise ships to dock there, but I don’t think you can expect it within the next couple of years, as once the ayuntamiento is given the permits, they will then need to “court” some of the cruise lines, who tend to plan their schedules at least a couple of years in advance.
@@LanzaroteInformation so how do the local's pronounce it? 🤔thanks for the quick answer enjoy your sunday find a shadey tree put your feet up and listen to the Budgies(parots)!
On the subject of water, im always puzzled by why we feel the need to buy bottled water abroad. It was drummed into us, as we thought in the 70 s when we all started travelling , it was substandard, but i feel that is not the case. Is it, do you know ,just it has different mineral content or something, rather than bacteria. I say this as my daughter has moved to work in Florida Disney for a year and has had to put a sickie in due to upset stomach . I have told her to introduce local water in gradually and use bottled water for ice at the moment, i have absolutely no idea if that is the right advice or not lol.
Almost everyone here either has a water filter built in at home, or they buy bottled water. The water from the taps is safe to drink, but because it’s desalinated ocean water, it doesn’t taste great, and often comes from water storage, called Aljibes.
Thank you Mike very informative as usual.
Keep up the great work.

Hi Alan. Yes, contact ayuntamiento de Yaiza - they’re responsible for keeping Playa Blanca clean. yaiza.es/contacto/
Love to see the plans on helping the whales ❤. Would it be possible to make a video on the best fresh produce the island has to offer and where to go for the best fish, fruit and veg?
Yes, good idea. Best fresh produce - Haria or Uga markets.

Are you pronouncing Lanzarote differently or is it just
my ears? Lanzero-tay as I would say Lanzero-tea?🤔
Ps. Great vlog!
I don’t really think about it, but I’m sure my accent is all over the place after living here for 24 years. 😄
