You missed the part where he kisses her! I know Henry never slept with Anne of Cleves but Jonathan Rhy Meyers and Joss Stone had great chemistry.
Anne of Cleves was regarded as not ever being appealing and beautiful...
But historians think it was the other way around. Henry was now ugly under the sheets and sexually unenticing 🤮.... But the court must have turned the tables for Henry's sake and made the beautiful Anne the ugly one instead 😂😂😂
She was plain and had acne marks. She wasn't beautiful, nor ugly. Henry had no problem bedding the attractive 16 year old Catherine Howard who came right after Cleves.
Henry loved beautiful worldly women. Catherine of Aragon and Mary Boleyn and Bessie Blount were all considered great beauties, in their prime. Anne Boleyn wasn't described as particularly beautiful (she wasn't an English Rose with fair skin and blonde hair, she was rather dark and in those times that was considered less attractive) but, if you search hidden portrait of Anne Boleyn, you will discover a great beauty for our times. Catherine Howard was also described as attractive, vibrant and joyful.
Let's not deny that Henry was into very attractive women and Anne of Cleves wasn't like the beautiful Joss Stone here, she was plain at best and had the austere german upbringing so she wasn't seductive, vivacious and flirty. And, unlike the others, who mastered the art of seduction and even had some education, she was unsophisticated, inexperienced, scared and cold towards the now unattractive fat King who had a reputation for divorcing or killing his wives. He was greatly offended when he went to meet her and she didn't recognise him. That, coupled with her lack of good looks and seductive playfulness he was accustomed to, made him reject her sexually. She just wasn't his type and she probably couldn't hide her revulsion towards his persona.
But she did as she was told and never contested the annulment, so she got to keep her head and a few castles to go with it.😂😂😂😂
