- Welp, time to talk about another thing Robots in Disguise (2015) ruined. Here is a comparison between Megatronus from the Covenant of Primus vs Megatronus from RID2015. Unfortunately, these characters are supposed to be the same character in a connected universe. Booooo

Subtitles are available! And for the blind or visually impaired, here is the text for my bonus sins displayed on screen at the end:
I don’t think the Primes were able to transform because Amalgamous was the origin of the T-Cog. The rest didn’t have T-cogs. Regular Transformers can transform because Amalgamous passed down his abilities to them in a lesser form.
The Primes were said to be larger than the average Cybertronian. Their relics are all massive. Here Megatronus is just average-sized.
Primus and Unicron are the cores of planets and have been shown to have massive sparks. Here they are tiny tiny orbs about the size of a regular bot’s. They also show no intelligence or power despite being, you know, gods. Whose souls have literally screamed and manifested faces before.
Unicron’s spark was no longer in the Earth because he travelled with Megatron to Cybertron in TFP and then was captured in an invincible vessel. Even if Megatronus could get Unicron’s spark, it would have happened on Cybertron.
Ima try to craft some theories on the spot, some of which build off a theory i saw that Megatronus became evil because of the Dead Universe...
If Megatronus was turned evil enough to fight his creator, he's surely been made evil enough to steal another bot's T-Cog.
I can't explain this one...
When Optimus and Megatron were in Unicron's spark chamber, the AntiSpark was huge, but also kinda "loose" for lack of a better term. Here, it and the AllSpark seem like they were compressed into solid balls of purple and blue gradients respectively and other whacky moving picture filters. My guess is those little balls are like ultra-compressed versions of them.
iirc, Starscream said in Darkness Rising that Dark Energon and the AntiSpark are in the same. It's possible that between TFP and RID15, "what remains of the AntiSpark from Unicron, lying dormant in the Earth's core" would mean any Dark Energon that had been left behind in TFP. Victims of the Synth-En virus were likely dumped off the Nemesis and into who knows where, and Skyquake never had any closure. Unicron could've siphoned Dark Energon from the infected (and maybe Cliffjumper) to upgrade Skyquake, who for plot reasons I'll refer to from here on out as Scourge in response to being locked away inside the AllSpark container in the same way the AllSpark was still fully functional in it. From there, Scourge would do what he could from within the Shadow Zone to set his master free. Without Megatron, however, the AntiSpark could only return to Earth. For this oversight and a lack of use for him, Unicron would immediately dispose of Scourge.
Can you make a video about how transformers earth spark did magatron dirty
for the bonus sins about megatronuses size and the sparks..
megatronus may have always been this size. optimus is his same size and thats after he was rebuilt and made to better fit a warrior even as a reincarnated prime, theres also optimuses original debut as the 13th prime when all the primes were first made. He certainly wasn't the same size as he is now. They're heights might just vary.
for their sparks, primus is always dormant and never really displays anything. Unicron has also gone dormant and isnt really active like he was when he was attacked by optimus. Even then, he was only active because he was under what I imagine to be extreme pain as he was hit by the matrix. He didn't even display emotion or any verbal usage while in the container. Megatronus also pulled the remnant of the antispark from cybertrons core, which is why it came from the earth. The all spark has always been depicted as small, but not as a sphere.
That also goes onto why he didn't pull the antispark off cybertron. It's in a container, so maybe that container is somehow restricting the staff and could also be why the antispark in it is reacting to nothing.
i think the rest are fair game because they really dont make sene
@@orion_paxx sparks that are separated from their bodys are not in pain the l. all spark and antispark are giant (we saw both of them in the show). Unless magatronus took the anti spark from the contenier there is no where he could got it elsewhere so maybe after tfp they but the contenier in earth.
Rip subtitle vehicons 😔
Honestly my biggest gripe with Megatronus is just how unfortunate it is that a so called “Original Prime” was the villain of the first season of RID15 and didn’t even show up until there’s like six episodes left.
I would have thought they'd learn to foreshadow things better after a similar sort of ass-pull in TFP with the reveal of Unicron at the end of the first season (regardless of how cool it was).
They did me SO DIRTY
Honestly the franchise in general just sucks with its large scale ultimate villains, they are always overhyped and almost never deliver which is ironic considering that they do wonders with the normal decepticons
@@B0BBY-303to be fair they foreshadowed him from the moment they introduced dark energon
@@TheFallen-ff4xn May I hold your magnificent pecs, my lord?
Seeing this makes me realize that Megatronus was treated way better and very accurately in the Prime Wars Trilogy. Here are a few reasons:
- His design was unique and larger compared to other cybertronians, not looking like another bot (Blastwave in RID)
- He was built up from the first season well and lasted longer than 3 episodes
- He was so powerful that Megatron, Grimlock, Fortress Maximus, Predaking, and even Unicorn were outmatched
- He even killed Optimus in his debut episode
- His backstory was aligned well with the comics, making him tragic and sympathetic
- He was responsible for everything in that show, ranging from Overlord to Trypticon to all the deaths from the Combiner Wars and the Titans
Plus he's voiced by Mark Hamill. Can't forget that
And him being bigger matches his lore and backstory because he was able to wield the Requiem Blaster with ease, which is said to be too big and heavy for a normal bot to even pull its trigger.
Why did THAT series do me Justice why couldn’t any better series do it
I feel like he also carried design aspects from the Bayverse version, what with the Pharoah-like crown design and all.
RiD be like: That's some nice character development you got there. It'd be a shame if someone *ruined it.*
i like rid 2015 but i think most of the community would love it if it wasn’t connected to aligned, and as you said it feels like rid writers wanted to do their own show but were limited by “you have to do a prime sequel”
It's a neat concept, and some cool designed bots.
Nope, I think RID 2015 is shite even seperated from Prime, having it be the canonical sequel to that masterpiece simply makes the pain worse :)
But still the aligned continuity is kinda of a mess
@@JacobNGames It's a cool idea, a sort of found family gimmick going on with Bee Team. True, there's a lot of work to me it great. But there are good things about it.
Like by itself it’s not bad but it’s connected to prime so it’s gotta carry that ending and it’s fumbles it hard
I'd like to think this Megatronus was just an imposter, a dilusional cybertronian who's gone insane and truly believes he's Megatronus. I love RID 2015 since it's my first transformers show, but this megatronus was such a dissapointment and would've love to see the climax just be Steeljaw's completed army.
The armada of cyclonus, tired of being discarded and forgotten.
That means he could just be megatron just going crazy after he left the Deceptions
Could've just replaced him with Liege Maximo.
Once you mentioned that RID Megatronus's floating masked head looking like a cat going blep and laser eyes as an edit, I cant unsee it and it got me to wheeze out a sudden laugh lmao XD
Me too 😂
Despite having a huge disapointment with Megatronus in RID, i would have loved to see a new story with him going to Earth or Cybertron, to meet the cybertronians who defeated Unicron, again, because Megatronus and his brothers and sister did it before, and to meet the organic beings that helped them and all that, but... you know what happened.
God I would have loved to meet this guy in Prime or some continuation of it that isn’t this show
@@quibbs126I imagine he would have loved jack for somereason? Don't know why though **looks at all the shit jack did and hows he's basically a human prime**

Thanks, good to hear from you!
@@emperorkumquat Who do you think was the better Fallen? Rid 2015 or Bayverse?

"They had us in the first half , not gonna lie ."
A while back, I saw a theory that the other dimension Megatronus Prime found himself in was the Dead Universe and got corrupted by it like Nova Prime was... Considering he had it out for Earth as well as Cybertron, Unicron can't be the "source far greater than the Primes." iirc, it also turned Nova from relatively good to pure evil like Megatronus has...
In short, either the writers didn't want to call out the Dead Universe by name or they just freaking suck.
Nova was already kinda evil before that, The D-Void merely corrupted him to the point of no return.
@@hebiweaponsguy4842 Oh... Still, I'd like to think there's some in-universe explanation, and the Dead Universe is the only plausible one.
@@BlooMonkiMan fair.
@BlooMonkiMan you could blame the Dark Spark and the Shroud connecting Aligned 13 to Multiversal 13 and then splitting them up and giving Aligned Fallen a new backstory
11:46 Wait, is the Allspark the spark of Primus? I'm genuinely wondering, because if so then yes it's a sin. He did specifically mention what he grabbed as "What's left of the Anti-Spark"
No haha it’s not Primus’ spark. That’s why Unicron’s undead Predacon army went for the core of Cybertron. The Allspark is separate and this is another writing error of RID2015
@@emperorkumquat I see, that's good to know
Originally it was supposed to be in the franchise lore, and in some continuities it literally still is. Here however, the Allspark is just an aspect/portion of Primus that does the spark creating thing, while Primus' spark proper creates energon for the planet as its core. What is weird is that Primus' Spark and the Allspark indeed merged back together at the end of Predacon Rising but here calling it the Allspark still makes no sense, because I don't think that would've had the effect the fallen intended. So clearly they are just conflating terms either out of a lack of understanding of the lore they are working with, or a lack of care for the lore and they just wanted it to sound grander than 'Primus' spark.
A theorized speculation, this Megatronus is actually a manifestation of the real Fallen created by Unicron as a Herald of Unicron yet he regains the real Megatronus's memories, went insane, turned against his master and impersonated the real Fallen as the proclaimed first Decepticon.
Okay I honesty just assumed his plan was to revived Unicron by using the remaining anti-spark that was leftover from when Unicorn left, and when he said Allspark I my mind went "Unicrons spark thats in the container that held the allspark". So just taking both parts of Unicrons spark to make him whole.
Also I know its dumb but I just keep the head cannon that it's just Legie Maximo pretending to be Megatronus for some reason.
To be fair, this character works better as Liege Maximo than as Megatronus. And even then, Liege Maximo is a deceiver and manipulator, not your average evil cartoon villain who wants to destroy everything just because EVIIIIIL.
@@wafagdplqs4421I mean, he doesn't want to destroy everything because of evil. He does so out of revenge for being abandoned by both unicron and primus.
Megatronus - a huge depth and an interesting character that has an extremely generic and boring motive in Rid2015.
The show is allergic to do something daring and interesting and when it DOES happen it's already too late.
This video reminds me of an idea had for megatronus if I was allowed to write his story:
Basically I would have him arrive during Transformers prime. either in the first season or the second season and be the tragic person he is described as in the books. He would also not be willing to fight in the war because he doesn't feel like he could fight or kill anything after what he did to his love.
only being forced into it when it was absolutely necessary and actually showing off that he is still a very mighty warrior. even with the ability to transform ( which I assume is an upgrade I will have given him later).
I definitely think Transformers Robots in Disguise 2015 definitely did him dirty. I really think if he was introduced in Transformers Prime it might have been a little bit better. but at least the book does him Justice.
I agree with the idea RID15 wanted to be it's own thing but forgot it's a sequel. I learned Japan treats it as it's own show so I now like to treat RID the same way and that fixes some of it's issues.
I like to think of him as a random cybertronian gifted with powers who thinks he's megatronus. Explaining why he can transform and all of that and why he's just generic evil bad guy. He probably only has surface level knowledge on megatronus and doesnt know that megatronus exiled himself.
I love RID 2015 more than most people will admit to do, but…man, THE RETCONS IN THIS SHOW- 😭

It seems like the showrunners were going for the first idea of Megatronus, back when he was called 'The Fallen'. Created by Primus, corrupted by Unicron, turned against the Primes and went evil. Maybe not the most dynamic or well-rounded character, but it'd work for a show like this.
I'd say the problem, as you're pointing out, is that the show has to be set in the same universe as the Covenant, which made Megatronus more of a tragic figure. The two can't mesh together, with the only possible explanation is that he's The Fallen from a different universe. And that's stretching it.
Another problem I have (with many recent showings of the Thirteen) is that they're not as powerful as they should be. The Thirteen are supposed to be demigods, with powers beyond normal Cybertronians. Cybertron did this by having Vector Prime have temporal powers. Too often though, they're just stronger Cybertronians. Tough, but not that hard to defeat.
I got endless shit in a custom TF server for writing Megatronus as a tragic anti-villain who was caught up in his grief and the hatred of the Primes, to the point he became a Monster only because the world viewed him as one and he was all alone in it, instead of just making him a completely evil villain who had no redemption arc (I gave all of the Primes redemption arcs so they could help the Galactic Alliance fight Unicron) and to have my take on Megatronus validated by something as canon as THE COVENANT OF PRIMUS is so relieving. It seriously feels like a weight has been lifted and that all of the pain I went through at the owner's hands was worth it. Thank you so much even if this is just a comparison video.
I think Megatronus lied about the editional power to scare people.
I know this is unrelated, but as someone who is trying to re-wirite the entire RiD15 series on a google doc, i am currently 6 chapters in (per 6 episodes) and its going well. This video helped me get a better grasp on what Megatronus is actually like. I am trying to fix this series for my own reasons, and maybe share it with the people. Maybe theyll enjoy an nearly-accurate finished story.
Just do this
Think Bumb as Smokescreen
Optimus as Ultra Magnus
Megatronus as Soundwave
And here you go.
Honestly, I always thought T-Cogs were allowed to be given to Primes after Amalgamous (9), since Megatronus (12) & Optimus (13) were forged as the last two, allowing transformation to occur. The Fallen is also stated to have a sword, & based off his og design, I figured he’d store it like his descendant: Megatron.
Also, how large should (most of) the 13 be? Optimus & Galvatron are far from average in size. They’re on par with Insecticons at this point & are only beaten in height by the king of the Predacons. Their relics should be perfect fits to them, right? Not toothpicks.
I agree with the Allspark & Antispark simplicity though, especially the latter.
I realized, maybe Optimus lost the matrix and had to be retaught everything, since he sacrificed the matrix in Predacons Rising. He comes back because Optimus is still fit to fight and could be useful in fighting Megatronus and helping Bumblebee.
Here's what I believe happened
After killing solos
Megatronus then banished himself in another dimension
But after he left
Prima
Vector
And alpha trion
Made him out to be a monster for his actions
And so write down in the records that Megatronus betrayed them
When that wasn't the true story
After hearing this
Megatronus feels betrayed and as such decided to inbrace what everyone thinks of him ( a similar manner to Megamind)
Then he blamed unicron AKA earth because that's the reason for the primes split up
Because the first 3 primes thought he was the closest to unicron
And as such blamed unicron for why he thinks he's a monster
And disided to take revenge by destroying the 2 planets that made him what he is
As for why he didn't work with Megatron that's because Megatron is a nutcases
And how did he get an alt mode
I guess he managed to get a T cog while he was banished
And as for why everyone calls him the first Decepticon
Well that's probably just young autobots assuming that he was a Decepticon because of what the primes said
And when Megatronus decided he needed steeljaws help
He took the Decepticon logo to make him think he could be trusted
Because as we know
Steeljaw dose his best trying to work with other Decepticons
As for his small size
Well I think he just did that because he thought his power would be enough
Or an animation mistake
when you Actively made THE FALLEN the most boring character of the show YOU KNOW YOU SCREW IT HARD
I've seen Transformers robots in disguise In fact, from my point of view, it is really bad, as they say. All of its events are childish. Transformers Prime was never like that.
Yeah, I prefer Michael Bay's version of The Fallen more than I do this one.
I think this boils down to what the executive in charge of the Transformers franchise had said in previous interviews regarding the properties that made up the 'Aligned Continuity'. It was mentioned that the properties were all loosely connected and the respective creators/teams in charge of each project would be given a level of autonomy to prevent any restrictions that might harm the projects.
This is why the War for Cybertron games, the live-action movies, and Prime/Rescue Bots/RID 2015 all more or less make references to each other. Otherwise, all the inconsistencies and retcons would clash, since Dark Energon was introduced in the games before Prime, the shows only reference the events of the books and novels, and RID 2015 appears to be a show more designed for a younger audience and to sell specific-designed toys.
Watching the views go up! Love your stuff!
Fact: All Megatronus versions are the same. Every time he dies, his spark gets sent to another universe. That's why we never see him again. Because on PotP, Solus took his soul with her. (Confirmed in the comics btw)
You should make a video on how has Hasbro has mishandled the 13. They have a lot of potential but are misused in almost every story they are in.
It would have made sense if show went with:
Megatronus awakened after Optimus restored life on Cybetron.
He sensed or learned that Unicron was inside Earth and decided that destroying him and planet for good will be the best way to save Cyberstron from possible threat in future and for him to redeem himself.
Even as a standalone show, RID2015 is mid at best and horrible at worst.
When watching the video I was actually about to mention the t-cog thing. You are very insightful on the lore, I comend you. Not many people on TH-cam talk about the Aligned lore in such detail.
I'mma be real, I much prefer dreamwave's version of The Fallen as an unrepentant evil bastard over aligned and IDW's misunderstood mad but sad boi. It's just so much cooler, and fits way better for someone literally named "The Fallen". Plus... the whole pseudo incest stuff with the primes is kinda creepy imo.
I think that by first Decepticon, he kind of aligned with the Decepticon’s ‘ideals’, and fought against the Primes (Kind Of, In the show), so he is LIKE the first Decepticon.
RID did Megatronus that dirty that it made The Fallen in ROTF do a better job than RID Megatronus
I enjoyed RID when I started watching it. It felt like a decent show when it wasn’t connected to Prime. It’s so jarring to go from a plot where it’s just a small team catching decepticons running about to defeating a major figure in transformers lore.
I think that ,,Megatonus" from RID15 is actually, wait for it... an IMPOSTER!!!! It's the only logical explanation in my opinion 🤷. He looks like a regular cybertronian, his blaster doesn't look like a weapon made by a Prime for another Prime (the Requiem blaster has enough fire power to kill another Prime and almost destroy the decepticon warship and ,,Megatonus'' weapon is not strong enough to scratch someone's paintjob) and the fact he has a decepticon sigil and can transform pretty much confirms it in my eyes. And he was in the decepticon database. Fix-it was able to find information about ,,Megatonus" the same way he found info about any other decepticon. I don't know why he chose to pretend to be Megatonus (he is like a cheap copy of TFP Megaton), how he ended up in this other dimension, where he got this powers and why wants to destroy Earth and Cybertron, and honestly... i don't care. Just thinking about it gives me a headache 🤕. To me, RID15 ,,Megatonus" looks like nothing more than another evil decepticon for the autobots to beat the sh*t out of😂.
Fully agree with you throughout.
I guess, perhaps being given the ability to transform would have been a big deal for him, but he uses it and just looks like old Megatron in tank form with a revamp.
Plus, this show even made Soundwave break his vow of silence and somehow manage to use a connection to a space bridge from the shadow realm.
It's not supposed to make 100% sense, because it was intended for KIDS, but intentionally shits on the fans at the same time in my opinion.
The Dark Spark is to blame. Megatronus was a multiversal singularity before late 2015. Every version BESIDES ALIGNED from Dreamwave to the movies was the same guy traveling from universe to universe. The aligned continuity was kept separate from the rest of the multiverse by a barrier that was destroyed when the Dark Spark arrived. Because of this, the singularities and aligned characters were fuzed, and the aligned characters gained the characteristics of their singular counterparts. Singularity Megatronus was evil as hell, so the aligned Megatronus became evil as hell as well. But then the shroud happened and now all universes have their own version of the primes, and aligned Megatronus seems to have kept the traits he gained during the before-mentioned event.
Good theory, though I find the Dead Universe to be a more likely culprit
@@BlooMonkiMan counterpoint: this is canon.
@@ArcanaStorm Wait, they confirmed the Dark Spark did this?
@@BlooMonkiMan I don't think they mentioned Meagtronus by name but they confirmed the stuff about the singularities fusing with the aligned counterparts. I don't think it's a stretch to say that it is responsible.

I have a question if all primes are larger how is it that Megatron was able to Use liege maximos arm in transformers prime? 11:33
I don’t know and it’s dumb
How much larger, though?
So here's how I would put it, Megatron had named his movement after megatronus's own group of turned primes taking over for some unknown reason.
Yeah, there are only three exceptions to the 'Primes don't transform' thing - Vector Prime, because he used to be a universal constant, and so his jet mode from other continuities is canon to every contiunity, prior to the Singularity. Logos Prime, who is an interdimensional traveller and not part of Aligned's original Thirteen, and Nexus Prime, whose component parts can all transform - but Nexus' component parts are individual beings in their own right and are otherwise regular Transformers, only his combined form is Nexus Prime. Otherwise, there's no indication any Prime in Aligned beside Amalgamous should be able to transform, unless it was explained by the plot with some manner of surgery or special relic.
6:26: " fear it my Giant floating head!"
That quote is from skylanders
I think I know where in the show Megatronus got his "power boost", I believe it was granted to him by Unicron, which in turn tainted his mind
Agree 100% with how RID2015 completely butchered Megatronus' character. I was so excited when I found out he appeared in the show that I actually watched it, and then was just depressed at how badly they've butchered his character.
I blame the Shroud for rewriting the Fallen. In the same year, Funpub finally undid Mulitversal Singlarities since numerous different verisons kept making backstories that clash more and more. So maybe when this cosmic retcon happened and it affected Aligned Fallen.
I was looking forward to the Fallen appearing, hoping this becomes the turning point for RID15. Alot TF shows do turn out better after it's 1st season but nope, the show went back to it's criminal-of-the-week program.
I hate to say it but the best Fallen that appeared on TV is the Prime Wars version. Yes, from the show that a billion times more hated than RID15. At least he appeared as a powerful cosmic threat that nearly wiped out everyone and the writers actually remembered his backstory of Solus rather than giving us a waterdown story.
The best I can say about RID15 Fallen is at least he didn't go down in one or two hits lile his Bay counterpart.
I feel like they wanted to use megatron than realized that wouldn't work at all but already did a lot of work so, just scribbled in "MegatronUS" in and called it a day
Primus and Unicron are full on gods, not demigods
I think Galvatron and his dead universe crew would have worked better.
Yeah the whole extracting Unicron’s spark from the Earth is a big continuity error because in the final episode/movie of Transformers Prime Unicron’s spark was trapped in a indestructible vessel that originally contained the all spark.
That is why I'm getting so many rotf the fallen vibes
Yes i know stuff from the movies was adapted into the aligned but aligned wasnt connected to the movies
I liked the final and I did find him a decent against in there but I do agree with what you said and they could have done more
You're wrong about a lot of this stuff.
So technically the Covenant of Primus isn't really connected to Prime. It can't be for a few reasons.
1. The book specifically calls out Bumblebee as being the youngest Cybertronian since he was the last one born of the Well before Cybertron became uninhabitable. In Transformers Prime however Smokescreen is portrayed as being younger than Bumblebee.
2. Certain events from Prime also happen in the book but play out very differently from how they did in the show. This includes characters appearing in a different design and characters being present for events they weren't actually there to witness.
Yeah they're officially SUPPOSE to be connected but it's very clear that the writers for the show and the author of the book did their own things with the same basic ideas rather than actually trying to connect them. RID2015 is a direct sequel to Prime but it makes no attempt at all to connect to the Connect to the Covenant of Primus and that's apparent by just how different the Fallen's story actually is.
I'd also like to point out that Fallen being the first Decepticon doesn't make sense but not for the reason you mentioned. The idea that Megatron started the Decepticons as a group of freedom fighters isn't entirely accurate, while that was his original intent when the war started nothing in the fiction actually states that the Decepticons didn't already exist before that. Megatron only gathered them under a unified cause, nothing states he named them.
The actual reason that the Fallen doesn't make sense as the first Decepticon is because he isn't a Decepticon at all. At least not going by the story in the Covenant of Primus. Liege Maximo is the actual first Decepticon both in terms of order because he was created before Megatronus Prime and because Megatronus isn't actually evil. Everything wrong thing he did was an accident and only happened because of Liege Maximo. Which means that version of Megatronus never betrayed the other Prime. He wasn't a villain. He even went into self exile and was still in good with the other Primes when he left. The name First Decepticon would imply that he was the first evil character which is why that title should actually go Liege Maximo.
As for design... Honestly his design in the Covenant of Primus just looks like Megatron from Revenge of the Fallen with a different paint job and a slightly better face sculpt. I actually prefer the RID2015 because his head design is based on the Decepticon insignia. That said... I wish he left his battle mask on all the time and I went out of my way to find that version of the toy with the battle mask head sculpt. I don't like his actual face because it makes him look boring and generic. It kind of takes away the most interesting part of the design when we can see his face. With that said the best design for the character is still the original War Within design. I hate the fact that all of his redesigns forget that the original intent for the character was to be a living furnace. If he's not constantly on fire he doesn't look right.
Power of the Primes did his tragic back story a lot better by the way. They still change some things from the Covenant of Primus but they change it a way that actually makes him work as a villain while still keeping the parts that make him more sympathetic. He's portrayed as a character who's willing to murder half of everyone on Cybertron just to bring back 1 person. Of course the one person he's trying to resurrect is Solus Prime but he feels much more like an actual threatening villain and not just someone Liege Maximo manipulated to take the blame for something he really didn't do. There's actual intent to his actions not just accidents. That intent is what makes something actually evil. And he's voiced by Mark Hamil.
About the decepticaons. Do you believe authors are exceptions are just labels rather than political factions.
I was kinda hoping that Megatronus was trying to resurrect solus prime like he found a way to do so by combining the sparks but unfortunately that didn't happen 😢😢
Honestly Liege Maximo should’ve had Megatronus’s role in RID but used to his full potential like the Thanos of the aligned continuity
If I was writing this show, I think I’d use Tarn to be the Season 1 Finale antagonist. Having him be the one responsible for freeing the Decepticon prisoners to build a new Decepticon army after Megatron left
I remember when RID 2015 first aird and i was so excited to see what happens after TF prime. Then experiencing the most crushing disappointment ever when realizing this show was nothing like its predecessor.
I had hope it would improve somehow in later episodes but that never happened and i eventually dropped the show araund the 2nd or 3rd session. I wouldn't hate this show as much if it wasn't connected to TF Prime because it squandered so many cool opportunities to explore mysterys left after TF primes ending.
Only thing they did was doing pointless cameos for the more beloved prime characters. Most of if not all the RID 2015 cast is just not as interesting as the one in TF prime and the plot had no stakes and felt ameless at times.
The whole premmes of them collecting what are just goofy looking zoo animals just got old after a while. The villens where mostly forgettable and the gimmick in each session because more stupid, like after they ran out of zoo animals to cage they brought back starscream for some reason even though he should probably be dead and conveniently introduced the stupid minicon gimmick with his return.
I would have preferred if RID 2015 was ether separated from TF Prime cannon or if it was still connected they should have been more faithfull to the original in tone and art style.
I guarante that if RID 2015 wasn't connected to TF Prime it probably wouldn't be looked at with as much hate for it as it is now, it would probably have received a far more positive view like earth spark or cyberverse for example. RID 2015 suffers from the same problem beast machines had because both tryd to be a sequel to a more beloved predecessor and failed at it.
Much like Khara, it would seem Hasbro is continuously intent on tying things to blockbuster movies over actual source material regardless of how many contradictions it creates. Megatronus having his backstory and character watered down into a carbon copy of the "first Decepticon" motif from Revenge Of The Fallen is perhaps another example of that.
And grimlock.
RID 2015's bad writing strikes again!
A complex, multifaceted character with a rich history reduced to a cartoonish cardboard cutout of a villain? Just par for the course...
Nothing in this show was spared - plot, worldbuilding, the 'heroes' and the 'villains'. Even as a standalone, such terrible quality would still be well deserving of any and all criticism. Being a sequel just makes it so much worse. 😭
Let's just pretend that this show is non-canon (fanfiction) and that that Decepticon on screen is just a particularly enthusiastic Megatronus-cosplayer copycat extraordinaire.
small correction: not EVERY Megatronus backstory has him falling in love with and then killing his own sister.
as an aside, I do not particularly LIKE that backstory all that much.
Even in frikin' Transformers female characters cannot be saved from being fringed 😂😂
Rid 2015 was a mistake most of us just ignore as a part of aligned continuity
between you and me, i made an OC that's like a love child of Megatronus Prime and Solus Prime, and he (my OC mind you) was Cryogenically frozen after the death of Solus Prime. that's just what i made, not meant to be taken seriously.
I can't explain why but my favourite Prime from ALL of Transformers is Solus Prime. Maybe because she is creative like me? Don't know for sure. I wish there was a game where you could play as or play alongside these Primes. Thanks to my TF fanatic friend though, Transformers Reactivate hype is on so maybe there won't be a flat evil Megatron/Megatronus (I don't have much info on the game so everything I say MAY be wrong)
I have this strange way of thinking about this.
This Megatronus is a third bot, individual from the original and Megatron. He met the original on his way around the universe and decided to take his name, similar to how Megatron did at first. He then got in a battle with the original. The original got help from the primes still alive to create a new dimension and trap him there until Steeljaw decided to release him.
Nah this megatronus is the original megatronus prime they literally confirm it
You see, this guy is the reason why you don't always adapt something. In this case, the second movie.
I did some looking around checking some things and I came to an interesting conclusion.
The simplest explanation for COP and RID Megatronus being so different is that they are LITERALY Separate Entities. Due to there being instability in the TF Multiverse around this time period, I think a continuity hopping doppelganger is not outside possibility.
Also "Megatronus" appears to be strange a mishmash of traits from Megatron, Galvatron, and 'The Fallen'. His appearance, Implied backstory, and powers remind me of all 3. He also does all 3 angles VERY POORLY.
Counterarguement: The Dead Universe (Ill elaborate if needed)
Elaborate.
@@hebiweaponsguy4842 OK so Megatronus in R.I.D mentions being stuck in a dimension, which over time turned him evil and made him more powerful. Where else does that happen? Nova Prime and The Dead Universe in IDW and Devastation. The fact he had a grudge against Earth is kinda obvious when you look into it. So he was slandered by his brothers due to his closest resemblance to Unicron, and well Earth is Unicron. He wants to destroy Unicron for indirectly ruining his early life.
Exactly what i was thinking
RiD simply is a bad fanfiction, this is why it's so against the lore and stupid. Fight me😎🤣
I mean look at the fallen in revenge of the fallen was he really interesting or impactful, no he was a meaningless villain for a terrible sequel.
I like his design, but I don’t like to think that he is Megatronus. I used to even call him by a different name, I forgot what it was though…
My biggest problem with Megatronus is that it completely destroys his Arc from the Covenant of Primus where it said he would journey across the universe helping any species That he can and left cybertron not exiled because prima despite being a dick was the one who gave him his ship.
Megatronus is the most interesting prime cool design backstory and tragedy and Rid ruined him and Optimus as a result seriously they didn’t bring megatron back But still thought the series wouldn’t be right without Optimus.
My headcanon is that after his exile, he might’ve been taken over by Unicron while he was away, and perhaps Unicron’s corruption has turned him evil, even implanting false memories about the primes. Maybe after Unicron was defeated in prime, he regained partial control, but his mind was permanently corrupted, making him vengeful against both Earth (Unicron) and Primus? Who knows, this show is terrible.
Thats...makes to much sense.
@@Vilgax00 thanks 👍
I felt that Megatronus in RiD is not the same Megatronus because he has the decepticon logo if you read the books he’s not a decepticon nor even a villain
When i saw Megatronus in RiD i thought it was a power up for Megatron 😭😭😭
Hold it please. At 11:29 it states that Amalgamous was the only one of the primes who could transform. But in your Lore video on the primes you clearly stated that Onyx was the first one with a beast mode. Plus, without a transformation cog, how can Nexus Prime divide so easily into 5 smaller bots? And I think in another video I think, just think, that you said that Micronus Prime in a random fight or something temporarily copied Onyx‘ „Power of a Beast Mode“ and turned himself into a beast. I dont say you are not right. But maybe each of them actually had a alternate mode. But Amalgamous‘ Power may be that he had an infinite form and could liquify. But that is just a late night guess.
Onyx didn’t transform into a beast, he was just always a beast by default. Some Primes morphed their bodies in other ways too. But there is no mention of the other Primes transforming like Alpha Trion or Megatronus. I think RID2015 just gave Megatronus a tank mode because they really didn’t give the Aligned lore thought at all (like see how Megatronus is normal sized. He is just a regular Transformer)
I never really knew a lot about the original primes when i attempted to watch Rid2015, but now i do, and i agree with this.
They could have done a much better story, with Megatronus not being stuck in exile but merely not knowing the location of Earth, the Decepticons he employed for assistance trying to transmit the location of Earth to Megatronus, and Megatronus' goal being to destroy only Earth because he fears that Unicron could rise once more, then the plot being a balance of the main cast of Autobots fighting Megatronus to stop him from destroying Earth and them convincing him that he would not be doing any good by destroying Earth, merely dooming innocent species, which is the same senseless brutality that took the life of Solus Prime.
Then again, this was Robots in Disguise 2015, and we can't have nice things.
To me, i think that maybe RID15 did soemthing different with his story, kept the main bits yet but changed it up. Like instad of being striken with grief he was driven mad by it, willing to do anything to revive her which got him seal, maybe statis locked as well for good measure.
And in that time the more unstable his mind became, stewing over the "betrayal" he faced even thought he forces thier hands.
Which when he broke free from stasis lock due to his prime powers ( a stretch i know). He wanted out for revenge but couldnt. So he bided his time, maybe steeljaw did something offscreen that gave him the link to megatronus, which he used to contact him setting up the events in the show
But thats my take on it atleast
THEY DID NOT MAKE A TRICKSTER LOOK LIKE LOKI
I never thought Prime wars would do something better than any other show, but this Megatronus is just a slap in the face for the franchise. However, I do have a possible reason for his in-universe existence; a far out reason, but a reason nonetheless.
What if, during his travels around the universe he dies naturally one day, but his spark is divided in two: one half that is angry at the world for what happened to him & wants to kill Unicron & Primus whom he’d see as at fault in his psychotic state, and a calmer half who wishes to help all life & atone for his mistakes.
The evil half uses his powers to create an avatar for himself but can’t escape limbo, thinking it was a banishment. He hones his abilities until he can finally communicate with the living, however his psychotic mania makes his memory unstable, making him forget key moments of his past & certain powers even after he uses them.
The rest I have no clue.
Again, very far reaching but its the best I got. Its actually inspired by Star Wars, specifically a character named Darth Revan.
I'm honestly surprised you've never made a video where you rewrite RID, considering all the criticisms you have. I'd love to see what you could come up for a "Fixed" version of RID. As for me, Megatronus should have been Galvatron IMO.
Can we all agree that this was when the Aligned continuity fell apart?
Yeah, pretty much
It was a lost cause from the beginning
@@hebiweaponsguy4842I hate RID 2015 for that
Why couldn't they bring back Flatline from Transformers Universe which was supposed to be its prequel which was killed by Hasbro thanks a lot🙄 or why not Airachnid except she found Unicorn's essence and is going to destroy earth
Great analysis, EK!
Idk if there's enough substance for a video on this, but I always thought it so bizarre that the RID 2015 writers made Micronus Prime and company be so passive-aggresive and resentful towards Optimus... It would have made those scenes very intriguing had there been a valid reason for their sentiments, but it just makes them look like jerks, and for what? I felt like they were nearly as butchered as Megatronus
this show did everyone dirty atp (my boi optimus deserved so much better)
A way we could fix this or make it less contradictory is by saying Rid15 Megatronus isn’t the aligned universes megatronus, except being a megatronus of the multiverse. Like the ROTF version of the fallen, but a variation that was betrayed by his master and so wanted to cause some fuckery by seeing if he can make the aligned continuity explode
I was working on a rewrite for this show in Tumblr and I thought it’d be cooler if the season one big bad was Shockwave doing unethical science experiments again
Megatron's dark dominion was most profoundly felt in 'Transformers Prime,' leaving a stark void in 'Robots in Disguise 2015.' His absence in the latter only underscored the impact he made, with even the mere reference to him highlighting what the new series lacked.
"Wake up everyone, ek just uploaded"
It really feels like Megatronus should have been a different character all together. I personally thing having pulling from the Timelines comics and having Flamewar in a suit of "Megatronus" armor to revive the Decepticon movement would be a much cooler and more compelling story.
Cat man is immortal….unless Optimus the tank engine shows up.
They made him SOOOOO boring & generic. XP
