I just want to say "Thank You" for the tip on the gaps in the histogram. I have a lot o old family photos that have this old color cast and this tip will help immensely with time in bringing the color back.
I scan my 80's photos on to my computer, and then I have to send them to my boyfriends e-mail. He then puts them into a file for me so I can photoshop them. He got me an Adobe photo shop 13, which is on his computer. I'm still learning about it, it's somewhat complicated and a lot of steps to follow. I have a lot of old pics of myself I want to remove my old big glasses lol.
Yeah...nice trick, you have turned level to red where photos were in the right color... then you back to right color, that's easy.... Try a original red photos into the right color.

Selecting levels and holding Alt on the Auto option allows for some great automatic fixes of the colors. I use it all the time.
