Wow! This whole case is disgusting! At this point I’m surprised they didn’t arrest her corpse for having a trace amount of weed in her system and sentence her to 14 years
So his girlfriend who he loved so much accidentally falls off a cliff then he casual walks down to her, realises she’s dead then decides to take a nap on her corpse. Then after he wakes up casually walks back to his car and calmly calls the cop? …. Nope not suspicious at all
Sara Babinsack I think “needed help with the rent” was just code for “live-in sugar baby/prostitute.” And I think mom damn well knew that when she pushed her daughter to move in with this creep.
The mom creeps me out. She seems borderline abusive. She seems like the type of mom that Rhonda would of told her about the abuse and the mom would of said " just suck it up he takes care of you."

Uuuuuuhhhhh he almost talks like someone who's recalling a mildly embarrassing incident he had & he seems very self centered. As someone who doesn't show a lot of emotions in similar situations myself I still think he seems waaaay too suspicious
Yeah. The way he was acting was a lot more than just “reacting weirdly” or “not showing the emotion people would expect”; he did show emotion, just not sadness or anything else similar.
“Next question.” What? Is that how you seriously react when your loved one falls to their death off a cliff?? So basically what he’s trying to say is that he did it..
so he’s a child molester, an abuser AND a murderer and isn’t in prison for the rest of his life? what an amazing justice system we have.. and why is his daughter in a foster home and not with rhonda’s mother???? this case broke my heart
As a foster-adoptive parent I think it’s because she didn’t meet the requirements. She would need to meet all the same requirements as any other foster home. She could have been denied custody for a myriad of reasons- income, shape of the home, not having a room for the baby, illegal collection of rainwater, poor health, inability to physically care for a baby, etc. It honestly could be anything.
This is the one time after hearing a true crime story that I have been 100% certain that the main suspect did it. It was 100% the husband. No question.
That's not true, there are people that do go to sleep after a funeral of a loved one as a way to cope. However, not in the exact moment that someone dies next to you! Like, wtf?
Most adults who play that “I can’t remember” shit are usually guilty of whatever crime happened. I know ptsd can definitely make you block out certain memories of a horrific event, but this man doesn’t seem to be traumatized at all...
He said “I fell asleep on her body” bc he pushed her, and if they found his DNA. His excuse would be “I fell asleep on her body that’s why you found my DNA”.
I’d be calling for help immediately! Why would you even be compelled to try to climb down the side of a cliff after someone just fell off? What are YOU going to be able to do for them? They’re clearly not going to be okay.. I’d be looking for help ASAP! And yelling down to the person to hang on that you’re getting help. That’s just completely a lie that he went down there.
@@jessicagullo7004 Maybe he headbutted her. Or, since she was so slight, he lifted her over his head and chucked her off.bSounds far-fetched, but there has to be a reason he wanted them to know his hair might be all over her chest.
Looking at his interview from a psychology stance, when they asked him to describe what happened when she fell. He laughed and said he’s not going to talk about it. People laugh when they are guilty and when they are nervous and being questioned. If someone asked you how your loved one passed away because you were there to witness would you laugh? That was disturbing. And he doesn’t want to talk about how she fell because it’s too hard for him to lie about it’s easier to not talk about it
The way he says "My girlfriend fell off the cliff" in such a nonchalant way pisses me off. He's like "Oh my girlfriend just fell to her death, just another Tuesday" like wtf. In the interview too, when they ask him about what happened then (or whatever the interviewer was asking) he laughs and doesn't say anything. The way he talks about her death is like he's casually talking to a friend about something. He's so suspicious and idk how he didn't get arrested
the SECOND i saw steve and when he said "she valued intelligence and that's one of my strongest traits" he was suspicious. and when he said he just let her run so recklessly on a dangerous trail that lead to a VERY dangerous fall? like dude, you didn't even TRY to stop her if your story was true? it only got worse as his story went onward. and that interviewer when he said he fell asleep ON HER DEAD BODY, the quiet "...you fell asleep?" was definitely what i felt too. like, dude, what the fuck? steve definitely doesn't love her and likely never has, definitely just wanted the money from the life insurance. rhonda's mom also doesn't seem that great introducing her poor daughter to this guy... rest in piece, rhonda, you deserved so much better than all of this.
@@californiapoppy true this does happen, however this was not a traumatic experience... he knew exactly what he was doing and didn't seem concerned on the phone call at all! considering that he just 'saw' his girlfriend fall to her death. God i was like trying to give this man the benifit of the doubt but as SOON as you put those interview clips up i was certain. that dude is WHACK. 'next question' 'that part im not going to take you through' LIKE. DUDE DEFNITELY DID IT. WTF.
He killed her. His story doesn’t add up at all, her running with a blanket, her turning around sharply despite knowing she was in a dangerous area. That doesn’t exactly make sense. Then him falling asleep on her body. His paedophilic ways and his history with violence. He shows no signs of empathy and has a lack of remorse. He can be passed as psychopath if tested.
The points of him lacking empathy and remorse might add up more to a sociopath more than a psychopath, but other than that I completely agree with you.
Maddie actually lack of remorse & empathy are psychopathic traits rather than sociopathic Sociopaths tend to be capable of much deeper emotions than psychopaths (usually because they are the way they are due to trauma, not simply born that way like a psychopath and other non-neurotypicals)
Thank you for the likes ❤ Please sign the petition Kendall talks about in the beginning of this video, I did. I also wanted to remind everyone you have to go into your email and confirm the signing. It doesn't take much more effort. (My original comment) I very much doubt she asked him to look after her daughter.
It's also a bizarrely unnecessary thing to say. As the only other living biological parent of the child unless he's deemed unfit most judges would give him custody without question. The grandparents or some other interested party would have to contest it and claim he's unfit and then they'd have to prove it and the court doesn't make that easy because the rights of the biological parents are usually paramount, especially in the case of there being only one. Grandparents and other extended family essentially have no rights to the child whatsoever and will pretty much outright lose even a case brought against the surviving parent just for visitation rights so they can see their grandchild. So, while I agree that he likely lied and she never actually said that to him, I don't see *why* he thought he needed to lie.
Juniper i think it was an impulsive response to the police's potential suspicion. since he also randomly blurted out how he was gonna propose to her, he seems like he's not very smart in trying to appear innocent. he'll just say whatever he thinks will alleviate his guilt. it's also bizarre that he thinks her predicting her death is any indication of her fall being an accident. clearly he's very mentally deranged.
It’s her moms fault for setting them up as a couple, and also the mom didn’t even believe Rhondas younger sister when she told her Steve was making sexual attempts at her while she was underage.
I can't believe they allowed this man to have custody of his child after being a child molestor....damn shame! The system failed Rhonda but justice always prevails. I love your videos, as always Mrs. Rae. Wishing you the best 🙏🏾💛🙏🏾
Why did Annie have to go to a foster home versus her grandparents? She’s been through enough and should at least get to live with her family that loves her.
Actually depends the social workers have to evaluate the home the background of each member that comes in and out of the home the cleanliness and more. It’s very hard to gain custody. Sometimes the judge won’t always see the next of kin as fit and that’s where CPS comes in.
Josephina Davis it’s not THAT difficult to get custody. The foster system is overcrowded and underfunded. They want to keep kids with their families as much as possible. They must have had some reason to not find them fit.
I myself have hiked this trail and that patch of the trail is definitely terrifying. I didn't even know about this but I remember holding on to the cable and looking down thinking how horrible it would be to fall. There is no way you walk this patch without holding on to the cable. He killed her without a doubt in my mind!
One thing tho. That seems like a mode of murder that is very risky to the murderer. What if you start shoving and the victim struggles and you both fall?
Yea I've hiked eagle creek a lot and those cliffs with the cable attached to the side are super scary!! I always see kids on that trail and wonder why anyone would bring their kids there. Well, he was 30 and she was 20 when they first met. But this happened in 2009 and she was 23 when it happened, so he would have been 33. Which means that today, 10 years later, he would be around 43.

He needed help paying rent on his condo but showered her with gifts as soon as he met her?

I've heard of a lot of cases made with forged signatures as well. It just seems far too easy!

Why is the daughter in a foster home and not with her mother's side of the family?

As a foster-adoptive parent I think it’s because she didn’t meet the requirements. She would need to meet all the same requirements as any other foster home. She could have been denied custody for a myriad of reasons- income, shape of the home, not having a room for the baby, illegal collection of rainwater, poor health, inability to physically care for a baby, etc. It honestly could be anything.

His paedophilic ways and his history with violence. He shows no signs of empathy and has a lack of remorse. He can be passed as psychopath if tested.
The points of him lacking empathy and remorse might add up more to a sociopath more than a psychopath, but other than that I completely agree with you.
Maddie actually lack of remorse & empathy are psychopathic traits rather than sociopathic
Sociopaths tend to be capable of much deeper emotions than psychopaths (usually because they are the way they are due to trauma, not simply born that way like a psychopath and other non-neurotypicals)

Please sign the petition Kendall talks about in the beginning of this video, I did. I also wanted to remind everyone you have to go into your email and confirm the signing. It doesn't take much more effort.
(My original comment)
I very much doubt she asked him to look after her daughter.

I dont get it either, Rhondas mother was literally in the video, she looks fine. Y is annie not with her?
@x Ugh
She's supposed to go to next of Kin, she should be with the grandparents.
