She’s been a comedian for over 20 years. Some of these jokes are from her first CDs. She was on the first Comedians of Comedy and helped pioneer alternative comedy in the 90’s. If anything, you’ve heard comedians who have been heavily influenced by her.
The word is "shtick", not "stick". And for her, it's not a shtick. She's dealt with severe mental health challenges and has managed to incorporate it into her act in a positive way. She's authentically herself, and that's why she's so great and often imitated (but never duplicated).
