I did the same thing for my mom when she was homeless now she tells me I never paid anything for “her car” but it’s in my name and I’m still paying the loan by myself…it’s been 4 years I just got the car back as the legal owner! Never put your name on anything for someone else’s use! EVER!!

Kinda got lucky there that none of the loans went through. As an outsider looking in without all the details, that just looked like a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. If you're poor, you have no business buying a $20K+ car, even if it's "for your job". Thats just a financially irresponsible decision. Best decision would be to fix the other two cars you already own. If the cost for that outweighs the car's value, then buy a more reasonable used car for like $5-6K. Plenty of Hondas and Toyotas out there with plenty of life left in them. They're affordable, cheap to maintain/repair, get good mileage, and if taken care of can reach 200k-300k miles easily. I say this as an owner of a 2009 Toyota Yaris i bought used over a decade ago for $6K and have put 100k of my own personal miles on it. It's still going strong, and I'm confident I'll pass 200K personal miles while still owning it. Overall fun video to watch, but very cringe-y to see poor financial decision after poor financial decision almost being made lol

Tell them to get a job at the closest place you live, within a month or they're out. There is probably a gas station within walking or biking distance. The job doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, it's not a '"car" problem it is a mindset-into-action problem. They need to get a piece of notebook paper and write down goals for the future and aspirations. I get it they're young, and really naive and haven't been taught/forced how to work. The good news for you is you can teach them that lesson. You can flip items from FB marketplace or thrift stores. I physically couldn't stand not making money for 6 months straight, I don't care, I would figure it out. I do see places hiring all the time, but a lot of people may need to work on their resume and interview skills.

Kinda got lucky there that none of the loans went through. As an outsider looking in without all the details, that just looked like a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. If you're poor, you have no business buying a $20K+ car, even if it's "for your job". Thats just a financially irresponsible decision. Best decision would be to fix the other two cars you already own. If the cost for that outweighs the car's value, then buy a more reasonable used car for like $5-6K. Plenty of Hondas and Toyotas out there with plenty of life left in them. They're affordable, cheap to maintain/repair, get good mileage, and if taken care of can reach 200k-300k miles easily. I say this as an owner of a 2009 Toyota Yaris i bought used over a decade ago for $6K and have put 100k of my own personal miles on it. It's still going strong, and I'm confident I'll pass 200K personal miles while still owning it. Overall fun video to watch, but very cringe-y to see poor financial decision after poor financial decision almost being made lol

I can tell you are passive-aggressively throwing shade at your "roommates." You need to just tell them straight up bro, 6 months of no money is unacceptable. That is squatter talk. Tell them to get a job at the closest place you live, within a month or they're out. There is probably a gas station within walking or biking distance. The job doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, it's not a '"car" problem it is a mindset-into-action problem. They need to get a piece of notebook paper and write down goals for the future and aspirations. I get it they're young, and really naive and haven't been taught/forced how to work. The good news for you is you can teach them that lesson. Tell them they have a month to get a job and give you some money or you are kicking them out regardless of if their car works or not. Yes, that's right they will be on the street.

There's so many cash same day gigs as well and you can even offer to do yard work, house cleaning, car detailing, etc and give people a better deal than big companies. So many gig apps. You can flip items from FB marketplace or thrift stores. I physically couldn't stand not making money for 6 months straight, I don't care, I would figure it out. I do see places hiring all the time, but a lot of people may need to work on their resume and interview skills.
