Thanks C. N. J. For showing us Grantspen, I was wondering what’s happening to the people there, now that the traffic’s are not going through there anymore. Do they have to walk up to the new highway to get a bus? For the ones without a car, I feel sorry for them, or do a bus go in at certain times. Just thinking about them. I’m from Yallahs, so I’m familiar with the place. I used to go to dance there, that’s a long time ago. Keep up the good work, thanks again, see you in the next video ❤

No bus. Many persons walk up to the main road to get transport.

I've always thought that highways bypass communities and don't improve the lives of communities. It puts them at risk for decline. Having a rest stop and associated activités might help mitigate that risk. It might change the character of the community. I think that an improved road system (wider lanes, better road surface) is better than a highway that passes through several communities. It allows for the communities to evolve and develop and remain rural....
    Thanks for sharing this.

One reason why St. Thomas people from the 1400s to 1865 were the most courageous, was because Ethiopian prisoners of war, 1440-60, Italy invasion of Eritrea, were sold to the pirates of Port Royal to man their ship back to the Caribbean from trading in East Africa, on arrival, they were released as a vanquished race and set free. They ventured to the interior of what is now Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Thomas, and became one with Tianos, chanting, kill the king, kill the queen, and send us back to Africa. By 1492 they saw the arrival of Columbus, ( asking directions to India.), then they saw the British come to war and took over the Country. The next generation of the 1500 and 1600s, saw West Africans coming in as slaves, those who were docile would be sold to traders from America, and those who were hostile remained on the Island. The severity of the inhumane conditions intensified on the plantations, causing many of the West Africans to flee to the interior and lived amongst the free Tianos/Ethiopians. With their handed-down military knowledge, they became an Army, and also those from Portland were at their services, they took British Navy warships and engaged the French Navy, who protected slaves ships, many were sent back to West Africa and many French sailors died, in addition, a network was set up after they liberated Nova Scotia through their agent Harriet Tubman, getting Africans to the North to Canada then Nova Scotia, (then an outpost of France, enslaving the natives, who joined with the Jamaicans...while the Army marched through underground caves from Morant Point to Haiti Training Tusaunt and liberated Haiti, in Jamaica was relentless for years, it became a Caribbean anti-slave war, Willie Lynch flee to America, where his plan continues until this day, ...West Africans decided against the war and joined with the British, sabotaged the movement, and became Agents of the British Crown, gaining sovereignty as a country within the country of Jamaica, with Land, and not obligated to the laws of Jamaica....the day they hung and beheaded Paul Bogle, they made him witnessed 450 freedom fighter, man, women and children at the back of the court house, then that same day, they wnt to Stoney Gut and obligated it, killing 1200 families, leaving survivors homeless....While the now so-called Maroons were safe and intensified the policing of the unemployed free slaves....The Spirit of the Ethiopian soldier left St. Thomas man years ago, ...the last of them was the High Priest of his generation, with his handed down knowledge, imparted it to Percival Howell, who imparted it to Marcus Garvey. In the year 1500, 5000 British sailors landed at Cow Bay, to March from the East to attack Rock Fort, they set up a naval base in Cow Bay and marched through the swamp, 1500 made it out alive and escaped Crocodile....after that, Grans Pen was formed and became a fishing village, with a naval base.
