Bungie had more than 18 months to develop TFS. I expected less and they gave more. There’s something sad in this. I find most of what Bungie have brought forward since, to be quite lackluster and truly missing many marks.
i’m pretty sure i’m done with the game. i’ve said that before and came back but this time i think i’m truly done. this tonic system just broke me. i’ve paid for rest of the year but i don’t even care anymore. i’m just sick of doing the same thing grind for a weapon just to get nerfed and just sits in the vault. over and over again. this is META, now that is META over and over again. I’m done.
Bungie almost stuck the landing with final shape, then a month later it all fell apart and I’m not playing the game again until Pete is gone. They blew through 4+ years of employee retention money in under two years
Final Shape was the absolute pinnacle of Destiny, loved every minute, the episodes however leave more to be desired. Loot for me has been the biggest problem, the activities are great but the loot is not worth chasing. Hopefully Frontiers will address this issue with the new loot tiers system.
Definitely feel the same way and considering they’re doubling down on that I’m calling it quits after Heresy. That was my final nail in the coffin. I’ve (for the most part) enjoyed my time with this game but its import to know when to call it quits
The game was missing that loot chase and rng again. Crafting has ruined that. I've personally like grinding weapons and not just red borders which is boring to me.
Destiny is dying a slow death. Abysmal player base, bungie pulling almost everyone off the game. 2025 is going to be terrible for content. If Marathon is bad then bungie will be disbanded into sony or fired. If Marathon is a success then maybe they get more involved with destiny again but I have my doubts.
And we ended it on a lawsuit from Chris Barret. Where we learned he was paid around $30 mil from the SONY acquisition, and wants his other $40 million. Why was he getting $70 million????? 💀
He didn't get any money from what I read. He was supposed to get like 50 mill for staying on at Bungie for a certain amount of time. When he went on a mental health vacation and got back is when they stated all that BS of "bad behavior." So now he is wanting that money and compensation for damages to his image and future career options, which equated to around 200 mill.
7:00 community got the win on that one we got 6 weapons after hundreds of hours of time for each person grinding for stuff. that BLOWS i think we took a huge L and then were given a participation award
Bungies biggest mistake was taking away the ability to get craftable weapons. Especially after perk gating was revealed and the terrible drop rate of weapons. Heck even dawning weapons and presents aren't dropping like they should.
The game fell off massively for me in terms of really wanting to get on and play after Final Shape for how good it was and then all the hype completely died when you realized they wasn’t capitalizing on all the good momentum they had from it and we was actually getting less after that rather than pushing on, Guardian Games, into the light and The Final Shape was the best run the game has ever had
Revenant inadvertently changing the skybox for the post-Excision scene with the Guardian overlooking the Traveler from the HELM sums up the Episode perfectly. Revenant has been amateur hour.
There ARE 12 days of jinx-mas to still traverse before year end. If Bungie has one un-erring super skill, it is their incredible ability to throw away a solid victory, with multiple, repeated failures. The game is currently nigh unplayable with all the bugs. I salute my veteran brethren who are still able to login without pulling their hair out. I alas, cannot.
>Final Shape was a good, not great DLC. The story and missions were the epitome of mid. The writing was awful, the level-design was boring, etc. Honestly, I had more fun playing the Lightfall campaign than Final Shape's, even if the writing there was worse. The Pale Heart is what the bare-minimum should've been for patrol areas for years now. Unique loot and activities that give you a reason to play the areas over time. The Raid was actually pretty great, just a bit too buggy. >Episodes were what every normal, competent person knew they'd be, just Seasons with a new name. Some things are good, others are bad. Seasons have pretty much always been a mixed-bag. Bungie knew they were lying when they tried to hype them up, and they should've just been honest. >Vesper's Host is a really good Dungeon, it may actually be my second favorite behind Warlord's Ruin. >The resources they're putting into Marathon and other games outside of Destiny is laughable and stupid. There's a reason why so many players started leaving Destiny and talking about TFS being an offramp, and it's because it seemed like, and still kind of does, that Bungie saw it that way too. Bungie spends money like a teenage girl who's dumb and entitled, and it's killing them. >The layoffs were a necessary good, and I'm tired of people crying about them. Bungie was far too bloated, and it's not just the management and corporate suits who're the problem, despite what many say. Bungie has a culture issue, and that's from top to bottom. Their entire mentality is to do the least amount of work for the most money, all while pushing their ideology. Gaming got to where it is because a bunch of nerds who appreciated their position in life had passion, and now it's a mix of corporate suits who're dumb as hell, and ideological ghouls who should be put on a raft and sent out into an ocean. The amount of money lost in this industry is just jaw-dropping, and it's all because they waste it on stupid shit, create bad products, refuse to do basic things to improve their games, and refuse to listen to normal people about what they want. Was 2024 Bungie's best year? Fuck no. Was it their worst? Probably not, but if we looked back in 10 or 20 years, and this was the beginning of the end or something, it wouldn't shock me.
I quit after I couldn’t solo to get the class items tbh but it was building up to it anyway after I got stuck in a loop of spawn deaths soloing an exotic mission after an hour. It’s so nice being free to play other games
So you quit because you had to play with one other person on mic for an overpowered item that dropped with their newest expansion? I understand not wanting to play with people but it doesn’t hurt to try.
@ I did try but it got old real fast. It was mostly the state that the game was in. Stupid things that shouldn’t happen like spawn dying on a side of a wall over and over again after an hour on an exotic quest solo. Fishing then getting kicked to orbit for being inactive losing everything. Anything that benefits the players is patched asap but when it doesn’t it takes months. Nerfing anything that is fun or nerfing a weapon so it’s useless. Progression blockers. I just had enough of it all and I expect the same thing with marathon when it comes out

I've been too optimistic towards Destiny 2 mainly because I enjoyed the game since Season of the Dawn (Which was when I started D2) despite many of the negative comments I've seen from the community, but as Revenant started, my optimism started to fade as more bugs and issues started to show, not to mention how the story is being handled... I mean, I understand how the community felt during Echoes where we had to wait week after week for the story, but now with how its handled with Revenant and with Heresy coming up soon, I think it's safe to say that the community got more than they bargained for... I certainly didn't want the story changes as I felt pretty comfortable with waiting a week for the next part, but now with the changes to it along with the bugs, the layoffs, and everything that has gone on with both Destiny 2 and Bungie, I'm starting to feel less interested with the game, and I think I might drop the game after Heresy. I certainly won't feel happy after I drop Destiny 2, especially with the time I've spent with this game, with both my friends and my girlfriend, but Bungie really dug their hole where Destiny 2 will eventually be put to rest. I might even give Warframe a second chance after leaving Heresy, we'll just have to see how things go.
Final shape was perfect for me and all my friends a great great dlc. Pantheon/onslaught before that were insane too! Just gone downhill from there really for gaming reasons and non gaming issues lol
I’m going to say it..the final shape is extremely overrated. The missions structures were so linear and boring. And all the content dried up within two weeks. It’s not as good as forsaken not even close. Not as good as witch queen either. The destination was fantastic I’ll give it that.
I don't care how many cars Pete Parsons has or how many devs they're gonna fire, I'm gonna keep playing the game until either I die or the servers get shut down forever.
I hope Destiny can get through this. There is still no other game that has lasted this long and is still decent to play. No other game has this gameplay. Please hold strong Destiny. I hope Sony can fix the issues.
Warframe starts even early than Destiny and still interesting and fun to play, there new updates, frames, guns and buildcrafting in numerous times wider than in Destiny.
LION RAMPANTS You forgot to mention the aviation themed solstice of heroes event that they ironically patched the titan's exotic Lion Rampants ability to Aim Down Sights with their Lift ability active. The only reason I got was for class identity's sake. But for an exotic slot in the year of prismatic, it felt like a fair trade man! I was so flipping happy! I took the week off, I reconnected with old friends, I spent silver!! I don't even like the cobalt clash shader from trials. I wouldn't have played the game mode at all that season if it weren't for that confidence in my own ability. That WAS my legend's favorite feature since Destiny 1. And WAS my favorite part about the game this year.
Awesome video Houndish! Bungie has given us a decade + long game, to me, even despite many disappointment through lack of content or lackluster content I am super happy I’ve gotten to play a game long term like this. I will take whoever else Bungie or Sony cooks up for us. TFS was so epic 🤩

Everyone says final shape was the best you clearly haven't played forsaken more exotics you high if you think final shape better will never be better more people played forsaken and was more fun bungie even said them self they can never make something as big as forsaken so clearly it's better final shape is the 2nd best
Forsaken was the peak destiny experience in all of its history. The story telling was so much better, the loot chase was actually fun, the destinations, activities, and community were all engaged. Everything was literally at its peak during that time. I think the destiny story overall is told in such an awful way but back during forsaken I was actually invested which says alot about the direction they decided to go in. It genuinely feels like a whole different team worked on forsaken, compared to all the other content. The final shape was able to bring about 25% of that experience which was enough to keep people playing but not continue after the story was over. The pale heart is such a unique location but there is literally one activity to do on it which is overthrow and every single piece of the stories content was based around that activity, it became very apparent that the devs got extremely lazy by trying to distract us with this beautiful world with the lack of content. I would say the raid was the highlight of the final shape but it was so extremely difficult for a random LFG that most could not complete it. I did enjoy the campaign missions overall but for something that’s marketed as “the final shape” it just wasn’t enough there to keep players invested.
Yeah, I've got questions. Did they nerf shotguns and machine guns? It feels like hit boxes have been buffed as well. It seems like one in 5 actually do damage.
No it's not the weapons, the hitboxes themselves feel way funkier than before. Not buffed but erratic and more unreliable. Also I'm getting weird sliding enemies while shooting them...? Like they slide or teleport on the surface a notch without movement?
Is anyone else feeling weird about dawning? Like I finished all the recipes but can't masterwork my oven, I have only gotten 1 drop of each weapon, no engrams, it's just feels weird, like the essence you're supposed to get is pretty scarce if youre soloing stiff, idk, just feels off, or lacking.. idk, stoked for episode 3, but they really gotta pick a formula and stick to it IMHO. Is it your first Dawning or did you masterwork it any previous year? Because if you did, you go into the oven and can apply masterwork with one click at the start. It is so for 1-2 years now but they only communicated that for the first time it happened. Sloppy! I wasted a ton of essence bc it's not in an obvious place and forgot to click on it. I can also imagine that if you had it last year, you cannot finish it through this year's quest, wouldn't surprise me at all. However if it is your first Dawning, than it's really just a baaaad bug. Also, the most essence is in Vanguard Gambit Crucible (2 standard nightfalls are 2 cookies worth if not and 3 cookies if masterworked, that feels adequate at least).

i dropped destiny 2 for quite a while (from before act 2 of episode 1 till act 2 of episode 2) and i find myself playing episode 1 more than episode 2 content. catching up (pattern, quest, etc.) was one thing but the activities just played better, and the loot chase was nowhere near as tedious as episode 2. also, in this week's patch note they said they fix the left chest only dropping glimmer but i still only got glimmer from that. it seems they don't even have enough people to properly test update. looking at pc player count on steam; the picture is grim for destiny 2. idk if episode 3 would be the game changer (really doubt it) or maybe frontier (again after TFS, my hope for it is slim). also, they said they would make episode have more content but so far, it's just tedium work on the story side and reused game mode on the other side.
Its funny to me cause people compare this game to a certain mmorpg and said mmorpg is in the same low right now but the only difference is the game works without random bugs
Anyone figured out why artifact mods get disabled after you unlock the 11th 1? They all turn red and say requirements not met. Curative orbs stop working.
let's hope the new leader will make the game good again without making it full casual or full hardcore, they tested the full casual for 2 years they can stop now
Look at fortnite recently, a HUGE amount of old players returend to play the OG mode, imagine if bungie put in the effort to bring in SRL, strike specific loot stuff like that. Definitely would not be a huge return like fortnites scale but would bring a decnt group back but then it all fails again at the lacklustre episode content. They put themselves in this situation and the game is feeling the effects of negligence

The only "real" failure in my view other than the literal technical bug failures. Cause there was a lot of those. Was the switch to non crafted seasonal. Bungie forgets most its base is not the Streamers who play all day and night. Its the casuals who hops in a couple times a week do enough to get a little done. then return the following week. It developed a rhythm with a healthy enough player base. Its not impossible to switch from the guarantee of crafted but it would require ALOT more focusable sources of loot and ALOT more double perk focusing to make up for the guarantee in consistency to get quality loot. I say this is a sweat lord. This game is only fun when you have casuals to either prey upon in easier content or pull along through hard content. Without the normies, the game becomes stale. You have to have aspirational content and you have to have people who arent good enough to actually need our help to aspire to it. You cant sherpa when no one is left to carry.

Bungie keeps tripping on there own feet. Ots the roller coaster of "hey we did a good thing , so lets do 5 bad things" then the good thing becomes sooo good because were not used to "good things" hence everything after the final shape is mid.
Into the Light and Final Shape were great, simple as that, especially the former allowed me to play the seasons I hadn't played (no deluxe edition), so I could get experience the full story of season of the wish. Into the Light was a great build up with Onslaught (fun activity with great loot), and then straight into Final Shape, which, if you kept up with the story and characters, is one of the best, if not the best campaign. But the layoffs were frustrating and angering, for various reasons, the game is getting worse as a result too. Episodes feel like streched out seasons and there isn't as much there narratively; in Echos we learned about Maya, Saint had his crisis for a week...but it didn't feel like anything was really accomplished. Maya still has the echo and escaped, the Vex...honestly, I couldn't tell they changed, like they don't have characters who talked to us or maybe questioned their own identiy, anything that would indicate just how much Maya has messed around. Remains to be seen how much Revenant will effect everything. At the moment I feel no desire to play Destiny, beyond replaying campaign-missions or strikes/nightfall, when I feel like it.
Can we respect the fact that the amount of stuff they have been hit with this year bungie still stands strong with its content it’s like watching a guy take all the violent attacks and still walk it off like it was nothing
Ill never understand why my legend of acruis was taken away. Got it on my titan in the leviathan raid and couldnt put it on other characters. So now i gotta buy it from the tower. Total bs bungie. Bungie died long ago. This last year cements just how bad bungle is. They don’t deserve to succeed. They took a game that could have skyrocket to best overall and sold out at every corner.

This year's Dawning's ultimate star is you can actually get one from Eva for a somewhat steep resource price and that unlocks it in your collection+buyable from Xur in the Tower + they start dropping from The Pale Heart chests! I bought 1 on the first day of Dawning and now I have 9 of them! You're locked of "focusing" at the Pale Heart ghost they are RNG but it' secondary to unlocking them! Go get it!
Bungie gave up caring and so did the player base ...... with bungie having so many lay offs and so many court cases and internal problems people stopped believing that bungie did anything to bring the community together ..... what bungie forget is the community have had enough of them claiming they do it for the players but every choice theyve made has been them ignoring the community and doing what they want ..... then they continue to sell items for silver that are years old were sick of the games they play in regards to our money and any time something fun happens in game they instantly fix it if they are at a loss but when the community begs them to fix various things they ignore people and tell us they are working on a fix that takes weeks to implement....... sorry bungie but its clear you dont actually care and the main focus is financial gains not how much we enjoy the game
Just love it when Content creators down play the misses of a games they love. This second episode from the start has been very unplayable! The Tether Super never worked in the new Dungeon, it still doesn’t work. Did u forget that Houndish? Also just like Final shape was one of the best expansion in Destiny’s history Revenant is the worst one in Destiny’s history! So many misses from Bungie! Misses, a very unplayable content to a point that Bungie should have given players their money back for this episode! Bungie has destroyed Destiny.
D2 basically died when Joe left. Tyson Green ain't the guy. The story just isn't working either. This is not a value judgement, but when you have women in charge of the narrative, you're going to get what we got: endless talking about relationships and space therapy. I don't want to watch people talk about their feelings. Aragorn, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Superman, Batman, Master Chief, etc, would never do that sh*t. The narrative team needs some heterosexual men writing the story.
They started becoming all about profit and stopped listening to the players and what the community actually wanted. This is so obvious when compared to games like Warframe and devs like DE.
The beginning portion of the final shape when you had to reflect the shots on top of the building was so boring, in the pale heart, made me almost quit
DLC campaign was nice, but i wouldn't say it's the best. But seasons, oh sorry episodes just disaster, bugs now everywhere, it's more likely that you play in bugs which tries to be a game, plus this bugs aren't going anywhere which was fix in real doesn't, abilities as supers disabled till mid january and problems with cheaters which now just everywhere. Bungie for chasing online cut the craft and add again needs grinding the power level, now we sinking in bugs, but there act 3 which brings new bugs and then new episode which also bring new bugs. And looking on this we have shrinking online, which seems not going to raise, personally for me this DLC is the last one, i don't want to buy new DLC same as any other product from Bungie.
Revenant is an absolute mid season as far as im concerned and its not even over yet, i felt that way a few weeks after it started, i was unsure about the tonic system when the info about it first started bein released b4 it dropped and i was rite 2 do so as i couldnt care less about them

The political agenda seems to be a little less prevalent which is good. The reason I stopped playing is all the modifiers, can't jump, regen health use the super and abilities I have spent time and effort developing effectively because it is not in favour today. Then there is the fact that as a solo player who also enjoyed matchmade stuff I have just had it with being unable to aquire the latest and greatest gear that I have contributed to developing, all these things bungie has lent more and more into with 'casual players' being given very slim pickings, for the first time in years I doubt I will buy the next content
Final shape I am not a fan of at all yes some stuff is good and fun but at the same time some is the worst I have ever played in D2 history. Long drawn out missions that go on forever and so fricking confusing convoluted and just not fun. Pale Heart is a place I never go cant stand the place.
Glad I stopped playing. Hell, the entire group I played with stopped playing. Bungie shouldve pulled off the bandaid and made Destiny 3, cause at the time the game as a whole felt like a bloated mess. Cant imagine what it was like the whole season after the first was like. And no, the mobile game doesnt count for shit. The last thing a money grubbing game like Destiny needed. A more compact money sink. With features that shouldve been in the main game.
The game hit 15k players yesterday destiny is going to start the new year by deactivating the game because christmas is around the corner and kids about to get new games. Suprised sony hasnt pulled the plug already the way the people working on the game are treating the work space. All these reports, law suits, and stuff not working as intended at launch bout to get the game shut down. Between hackers and poor business decisions the game is finally done just goes to show you players are finally done with how rampid cheaters are in shooters. Even top streamers for call of duty are walking away and the game just came out 2-3 months ago. Its about time for these hackers/ chronis xim players/ aim bots services to die or the genre will never see record breaking numbers anymore. Rip destiny 2

Bungies biggest mistake was taking away the ability to get craftable weapons. Especially after perk gating was revealed and the terrible drop rate of weapons. Heck even dawning weapons and presents aren't dropping like they should.

The game fell off massively for me in terms of really wanting to get on and play after Final Shape for how good it was and then all the hype completely died when you realized they wasn’t capitalizing on all the good momentum they had from it and we was actually getting less after that rather than pushing on, Guardian Games, into the light and The Final Shape was the best run the game has ever had

There ARE 12 days of jinx-mas to still traverse before year end. If Bungie has one un-erring super skill, it is their incredible ability to throw away a solid victory, with multiple, repeated failures. The game is currently nigh unplayable with all the bugs. I salute my veteran brethren who are still able to login without pulling their hair out. I alas, cannot.
>Final Shape was a good, not great DLC. The story and missions were the epitome of mid. The writing was awful, the level-design was boring, etc. Honestly, I had more fun playing the Lightfall campaign than Final Shape's, even if the writing there was worse. The Pale Heart is what the bare-minimum should've been for patrol areas for years now. Unique loot and activities that give you a reason to play the areas over time. The Raid was actually pretty great, just a bit too buggy.

Was 2024 Bungie's best year? Fuck no. Was it their worst? Probably not, but if we looked back in 10 or 20 years, and this was the beginning of the end or something, it wouldn't shock me.
I quit after I couldn’t solo to get the class items tbh but it was building up to it anyway after I got stuck in a loop of spawn deaths soloing an exotic mission after an hour. It’s so nice being free to play other games
So you quit because you had to play with one other person on mic for an overpowered item that dropped with their newest expansion? I understand not wanting to play with people but it doesn’t hurt to try.
@ I did try but it got old real fast. It was mostly the state that the game was in. Stupid things that shouldn’t happen like spawn dying on a side of a wall over and over again after an hour on an exotic quest solo. Fishing then getting kicked to orbit for being inactive losing everything. Anything that benefits the players is patched asap but when it doesn’t it takes months. Nerfing anything that is fun or nerfing a weapon so it’s useless. Progression blockers. I just had enough of it all and I expect the same thing with marathon when it comes out

I only started playing during Witch Queen, and I really enjoyed Final Shape... but fuck Bungie at this point.
I've been too optimistic towards Destiny 2 mainly because I enjoyed the game since Season of the Dawn (Which was when I started D2) despite many of the negative comments I've seen from the community, but as Revenant started, my optimism started to fade as more bugs and issues started to show, not to mention how the story is being handled... I mean, I understand how the community felt during Echoes where we had to wait week after week for the story, but now with how its handled with Revenant and with Heresy coming up soon, I think it's safe to say that the community got more than they bargained for... I certainly didn't want the story changes as I felt pretty comfortable with waiting a week for the next part, but now with the changes to it along with the bugs, the layoffs, and everything that has gone on with both Destiny 2 and Bungie, I'm starting to feel less interested with the game, and I think I might drop the game after Heresy.
I certainly won't feel happy after I drop Destiny 2, especially with the time I've spent with this game, with both my friends and my girlfriend, but Bungie really dug their hole where Destiny 2 will eventually be put to rest. I might even give Warframe a second chance after leaving Heresy, we'll just have to see how things go.
Final shape was perfect for me and all my friends a great great dlc. Pantheon/onslaught before that were insane too! Just gone downhill from there really for gaming reasons and non gaming issues lol

I’m going to say it..the final shape is extremely overrated. The missions structures were so linear and boring. And all the content dried up within two weeks. It’s not as good as forsaken not even close. Not as good as witch queen either. The destination was fantastic I’ll give it that.

Warframe starts even early than Destiny and still interesting and fun to play, there new updates, frames, guns and buildcrafting in numerous times wider than in Destiny.

You forgot to mention the aviation themed solstice of heroes event that they ironically patched the titan's exotic Lion Rampants ability to Aim Down Sights with their Lift ability active.
The only reason I got was for class identity's sake. But for an exotic slot in the year of prismatic, it felt like a fair trade man!
I was so flipping happy! I took the week off, I reconnected with old friends, I spent silver!! I don't even like the cobalt clash shader from trials. I wouldn't have played the game mode at all that season if it weren't for that confidence in my own ability.
That WAS my legend's favorite feature since Destiny 1. And WAS my favorite part about the game this year.
Awesome video Houndish! Bungie has given us a decade + long game, to me, even despite many disappointment through lack of content or lackluster content I am super happy I’ve gotten to play a game long term like this. I will take whoever else Bungie or Sony cooks up for us. TFS was so epic 🤩

For me Witch Queen much better than Final Shape.
Forsaken was the peak destiny experience in all of its history. The story telling was so much better, the loot chase was actually fun, the destinations, activities, and community were all engaged. Everything was literally at its peak during that time. I think the destiny story overall is told in such an awful way but back during forsaken I was actually invested which says alot about the direction they decided to go in. It genuinely feels like a whole different team worked on forsaken, compared to all the other content. The final shape was able to bring about 25% of that experience which was enough to keep people playing but not continue after the story was over. The pale heart is such a unique location but there is literally one activity to do on it which is overthrow and every single piece of the stories content was based around that activity, it became very apparent that the devs got extremely lazy by trying to distract us with this beautiful world with the lack of content. I would say the raid was the highlight of the final shape but it was so extremely difficult for a random LFG that most could not complete it. I did enjoy the campaign missions overall but for something that’s marketed as “the final shape” it just wasn’t enough there to keep players invested.

Yeah, I've got questions. Did they nerf shotguns and machine guns? It feels like hit boxes have been buffed as well. It seems like one in 5 actually do damage.
No it's not the weapons, the hitboxes themselves feel way funkier than before. Not buffed but erratic and more unreliable. Also I'm getting weird sliding enemies while shooting them...? Like they slide or teleport on the surface a notch without movement?
Is anyone else feeling weird about dawning? Like I finished all the recipes but can't masterwork my oven, I have only gotten 1 drop of each weapon, no engrams, it's just feels weird, like the essence you're supposed to get is pretty scarce if youre soloing stiff, idk, just feels off, or lacking.. idk, stoked for episode 3, but they really gotta pick a formula and stick to it IMHO. Is it your first Dawning or did you masterwork it any previous year? Because if you did, you go into the oven and can apply masterwork with one click at the start. It is so for 1-2 years now but they only communicated that for the first time it happened. Sloppy! I wasted a ton of essence bc it's not in an obvious place and forgot to click on it. I can also imagine that if you had it last year, you cannot finish it through this year's quest, wouldn't surprise me at all. However if it is your first Dawning, than it's really just a baaaad bug. Also, the most essence is in Vanguard Gambit Crucible (2 standard nightfalls are 2 cookies worth if not and 3 cookies if masterworked, that feels adequate at least).

i dropped destiny 2 for quite a while (from before act 2 of episode 1 till act 2 of episode 2) and i find myself playing episode 1 more than episode 2 content. catching up (pattern, quest, etc.) was one thing but the activities just played better, and the loot chase was nowhere near as tedious as episode 2. also, in this week's patch note they said they fix the left chest only dropping glimmer but i still only got glimmer from that. it seems they don't even have enough people to properly test update. looking at pc player count on steam; the picture is grim for destiny 2. idk if episode 3 would be the game changer (really doubt it) or maybe frontier (again after TFS, my hope for it is slim). also, they said they would make episode have more content but so far, it's just tedium work on the story side and reused game mode on the other side.
Its funny to me cause people compare this game to a certain mmorpg and said mmorpg is in the same low right now but the only difference is the game works without random bugs
Anyone figured out why artifact mods get disabled after you unlock the 11th 1? They all turn red and say requirements not met. Curative orbs stop working.

Look at fortnite recently, a HUGE amount of old players returend to play the OG mode, imagine if bungie put in the effort to bring in SRL, strike specific loot stuff like that. Definitely would not be a huge return like fortnites scale but would bring a decnt group back but then it all fails again at the lacklustre episode content. They put themselves in this situation and the game is feeling the effects of negligence

The only "real" failure in my view other than the literal technical bug failures. Cause there was a lot of those. Was the switch to non crafted seasonal. Bungie forgets most its base is not the Streamers who play all day and night. Its the casuals who hops in a couple times a week do enough to get a little done. then return the following week. It developed a rhythm with a healthy enough player base. Its not impossible to switch from the guarantee of crafted but it would require ALOT more focusable sources of loot and ALOT more double perk focusing to make up for the guarantee in consistency to get quality loot. I say this is a sweat lord. This game is only fun when you have casuals to either prey upon in easier content or pull along through hard content. Without the normies, the game becomes stale. You have to have aspirational content and you have to have people who arent good enough to actually need our help to aspire to it. You cant sherpa when no one is left to carry.
I mean tbh, final shape was fire and the episodes were ok but not the best and they probably won't try them again. So not a bad year. Controversy stuff is just normal gaming company stuff, not a big deal
Bungie keeps tripping on there own feet. Ots the roller coaster of "hey we did a good thing , so lets do 5 bad things" then the good thing becomes sooo good because were not used to "good things" hence everything after the final shape is mid.
Into the Light and Final Shape were great, simple as that, especially the former allowed me to play the seasons I hadn't played (no deluxe edition), so I could get experience the full story of season of the wish. Into the Light was a great build up with Onslaught (fun activity with great loot), and then straight into Final Shape, which, if you kept up with the story and characters, is one of the best, if not the best campaign.
But the layoffs were frustrating and angering, for various reasons, the game is getting worse as a result too. Episodes feel like streched out seasons and there isn't as much there narratively; in Echos we learned about Maya, Saint had his crisis for a week...but it didn't feel like anything was really accomplished. Maya still has the echo and escaped, the Vex...honestly, I couldn't tell they changed, like they don't have characters who talked to us or maybe questioned their own identiy, anything that would indicate just how much Maya has messed around. Remains to be seen how much Revenant will effect everything.
At the moment I feel no desire to play Destiny, beyond replaying campaign-missions or strikes/nightfall, when I feel like it.

Ill never understand why my legend of acruis was taken away. Got it on my titan in the leviathan raid and couldnt put it on other characters. So now i gotta buy it from the tower. Total bs bungie. Bungie died long ago. This last year cements just how bad bungle is. They don’t deserve to succeed. They took a game that could have skyrocket to best overall and sold out at every corner.
Tbh sony taking over could be a good thing bungie has no interests in the game anymore and there all focused on marathon (is a extraction shooter) won't do good and may die like redfall, suicide squad and concord but worse at dying real quick

This year's Dawning's ultimate star is you can actually get one from Eva for a somewhat steep resource price and that unlocks it in your collection+buyable from Xur in the Tower + they start dropping from The Pale Heart chests! I bought 1 on the first day of Dawning and now I have 9 of them! You're locked of "focusing" at the Pale Heart ghost they are RNG but it' secondary to unlocking them! Go get it!
Bungie gave up caring and so did the player base ...... with bungie having so many lay offs and so many court cases and internal problems people stopped believing that bungie did anything to bring the community together ..... what bungie forget is the community have had enough of them claiming they do it for the players but every choice theyve made has been them ignoring the community and doing what they want ..... then they continue to sell items for silver that are years old were sick of the games they play in regards to our money and any time something fun happens in game they instantly fix it if they are at a loss but when the community begs them to fix various things they ignore people and tell us they are working on a fix that takes weeks to implement....... sorry bungie but its clear you dont actually care and the main focus is financial gains not how much we enjoy the game

Just love it when Content creators down play the misses of a games they love. This second episode from the start has been very unplayable! The Tether Super never worked in the new Dungeon, it still doesn’t work. Did u forget that Houndish? Also just like Final shape was one of the best expansion in Destiny’s history Revenant is the worst one in Destiny’s history! So many misses from Bungie! Misses, a very unplayable content to a point that Bungie should have given players their money back for this episode! Bungie has destroyed Destiny.

The story just isn't working either. This is not a value judgement, but when you have women in charge of the narrative, you're going to get what we got: endless talking about relationships and space therapy. I don't want to watch people talk about their feelings. Aragorn, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Superman, Batman, Master Chief, etc, would never do that sh*t. The narrative team needs some heterosexual men writing the story.
They started becoming all about profit and stopped listening to the players and what the community actually wanted. This is so obvious when compared to games like Warframe and devs like DE.

The beginning portion of the final shape when you had to reflect the shots on top of the building was so boring, in the pale heart, made me almost quit
DLC campaign was nice, but i wouldn't say it's the best.
But seasons, oh sorry episodes just disaster, bugs now everywhere, it's more likely that you play in bugs which tries to be a game, plus this bugs aren't going anywhere which was fix in real doesn't, abilities as supers disabled till mid january and problems with cheaters which now just everywhere.
Bungie for chasing online cut the craft and add again needs grinding the power level, now we sinking in bugs, but there act 3 which brings new bugs and then new episode which also bring new bugs.
And looking on this we have shrinking online, which seems not going to raise, personally for me this DLC is the last one, i don't want to buy new DLC same as any other product from Bungie.
Revenant is an absolute mid season as far as im concerned and its not even over yet, i felt that way a few weeks after it started, i was unsure about the tonic system when the info about it first started bein released b4 it dropped and i was rite 2 do so as i couldnt care less about them
I have feeling that things will get better when Frontiers drops and drastically changes things up.
We'll see. Bungie has to do something more to get the players who left to comeback.

The political agenda seems to be a little less prevalent which is good. The reason I stopped playing is all the modifiers, can't jump, regen health use the super and abilities I have spent time and effort developing effectively because it is not in favour today. Then there is the fact that as a solo player who also enjoyed matchmade stuff I have just had it with being unable to aquire the latest and greatest gear that I have contributed to developing, all these things bungie has lent more and more into with 'casual players' being given very slim pickings, for the first time in years I doubt I will buy the next content

Final shape I am not a fan of at all yes some stuff is good and fun but at the same time some is the worst I have ever played in D2 history. Long drawn out missions that go on forever and so fricking confusing convoluted and just not fun. Pale Heart is a place I never go cant stand the place.

Glad I stopped playing. Hell, the entire group I played with stopped playing. Bungie shouldve pulled off the bandaid and made Destiny 3, cause at the time the game as a whole felt like a bloated mess. Cant imagine what it was like the whole season after the first was like. And no, the mobile game doesnt count for shit. The last thing a money grubbing game like Destiny needed. A more compact money sink. With features that shouldve been in the main game.

The game hit 15k players yesterday destiny is going to start the new year by deactivating the game because christmas is around the corner and kids about to get new games. Suprised sony hasnt pulled the plug already the way the people working on the game are treating the work space. All these reports, law suits, and stuff not working as intended at launch bout to get the game shut down. Between hackers and poor business decisions the game is finally done just goes to show you players are finally done with how rampid cheaters are in shooters. Even top streamers for call of duty are walking away and the game just came out 2-3 months ago. Its about time for these hackers/ chronis xim players/ aim bots services to die or the genre will never see record breaking numbers anymore. Rip destiny 2
