Thargoid Banshee Quick On Foot Takedown | Elite Dangerous

A quick on foot takedown of the new Thargoid Banshee added in Update 17. They are lightly affected by explosive damage from rocket launchers. As you can see, plasma weapons do the trick.

I'm new to the game and have very little experience with Targoids, I've only been getting some Meta-Alloy and haven't even encountered one. I wanted to ask: is what we see them themselves or are they sitting inside those spaceships?

Banshee & revenants are classified as drones. We can assume there's a physical pilot inside the interceptor ships, but until we see one crawling around on foot we don't know. There are theories that the ships themselves are grown Thargoids, but Fdev has also made concept art for the creatures.

Interesting! Your better at aiming with the rocket launcher than I am.
I tried it & decided to switch to Plasma weapons.
I am having very good results using similar tactics with the Executioner/Intimidator combination.
Though I am finding the Executioner most effective.
I even engineered a special one with Hip fire accuracy, Mag Capacity, Stowed reloading & Faster handling.
That is very different to my pure sniper version.
Though I think the Plasma pistol is fantastic against them as well!

As for core chips - they ruined AX reactivation missions by adding banshee to the mix. It made already hard missions even harder - and now it takes forever to complete one: either by sneaking into base without alarming anyone or killing banshee first. Anyone who decided to add banshees to occupied military bases should have his ass spanked.

Someone managed to extract a Thargoid model from the game files a year or two ago...
So FDev *have* put work into their physical appearance (They look kind of like Species 8472)
But until they show up in the live game - no one can be sure what they *actually* look like! o7
