I think this is going to be a great tactical thrower. Very nice review and I love the skateboard part.
I would like to see it compares with TS30S and FC12; how far it can throw on an open field and how long its runtime on turbo.

Hey Terry, I really love the position of this light in the thrower category. My personal favorites from your lineup are the TS11 with the 18650 tube and the TS25. Lights with aux LEDs and Anduril tend to be a favorite of mine, so I'm excited to see what you have to offer in the lights to come! Wurkkos is definitely one of my first thoughts for price to performance.

Great to see this in-depth video about the flashlight before we can buy them! And thanks for the giveaway too! Does the light have correct resistors on the USB-C port so it can be charged with C -> C cables? And it doesn't have powerbank-functionality?

I think the TD01 is the first tir lens tactical flashlight I've seen for under $40.
When compared to FC12 according to the run time, it is not as long as TD01 because it still uses 18650 batteries, while the TD01 can already use 21700.
I have input that if the purchase package is equipped with a tactical ring, it will give a sharper appearance and a more comfortable grip.

Does it come with Anduril? What are the benefits of the buck driver, what are the alternatives?
Wow the beam looks nicer than my TS30S Pro. It is definitely interesting to compare the beam profile with other Wurkkos thrower. I like that the spil is also bright enough. So far I dont see the issue with rings around the hotspot either. It is probably because of the TIR lense?
For me this is kind of flashlight, that almost perfect. I kinda want a reverse charging function and smaller head (less throw but I dont need 1km throw anyway), basically a TS11 version in 21700 with reverse charging 😆. TS11 is also almost perfect for me.

Is it possible to turn off the flashlight with side switch? Sofirn c8g can be turned off with side switch or tail switch and i love it, i wish there were more flashlights like this. Btw nice review !

I'm not a fan of the side and tail switch combo though (it's the only thing I don't like on my FC12).
I hope Wurkkos would start making dual tail switch flashlights.
I second that. I’m glad they added the tactical mode to their repertoire, but would love a dual tail switch as well
Got it! We want to do that in the future. But that technology is still expensive now.
I have waited for a long range TIR based budget thrower for ages, so i am happy to see this one. I want to know the specs of the driver. How is it set up? You wrote Buck+FET, which modes are regulated with buck, and how many amps does the highest regulated mode have? I guess turbo uses FET? Very interesting product, looking forward to more reviews on this.
Also please compare it to your other SFT40 TIR thrower, the TS11 (maybe with optional 18650?). Would also love a runtime graph for the different modes, Lumens on Y-Axis and Time on X-Axis.

Woww, interesting torch you have there Terry, nice big TIR , hope this light have a regulated driver like you have on TS22. I have ts22 (boost drv.) and fc12 new ui(fet drv.) and WK01.
With the fc12 i still experience slight delay in the tailswitch activation; same with sofirn sp31v2.0, (hope this td01 doesn't)and in fc 12 i see wurkkos utilize a resistor at the tailswitch(maybe to avoid 'blip' when it sensing different stroke at the ts). i like the daily/tactical ui combo.
And i think, if a flashlight is labeled tactical/duty flashlight; an enthusiast ui such Anduril is not necessary, simply use the ui you have now in the fc12v2 or the sofirnc8L.

Thanks for your great support. The TD01 utilize a same resistor at the tailswitch. We are ready to make the regulated tactical version of the TS22 in the future ; )

Yep, the tail switch is forward clicky switch. I will try again with 20350 tube next post ; )
Does it got delay on tail switch like fc12? If not , this was the flashlight im looking for.

What kind of driver does the TD01 have and what's the highest sustainable mode?
The TD01 equipped with the Buck & FET driver. And you could easily get the high mode for 5-10 minutes ; )
Sounds good! Not a big fan of the tactical interface (prefer simple UI: CLICK for ON, HOLD for mode change, CLICK for OFF), so will probably pass this light. Hopefully this big TIR finds its way into some other models too!

Very nice thrower flashlight. I ike the design. How long does it retain the brightness before step down in high and turbo mode? Maybe compare it with the Ts13😅

I would like to see the side switch and aux leds from the TS11 and anduril 2.0 would be cool on the TD01
Anduril on a tactical flashlight?
I didn't like the idea because on Anduril I have to do 3H to access the strobe and even then I have to make sure that the tactical strobe is the last mode I use.
To be able to always access turbo with 1 click of the switch I have to do a lot of clicking because I have to set up the ceiling and activate manual memory mode to always remember turbo.
Anduril doesn't make any type of flashlight better, the simple UI that Wurkkos uses on the TD01 is better for a tactical flashlight but I like your idea about the aux light.

You could tap & click the tail switch on daily mode. Or just single click the tail switch on tactical mode
I ordered as soon as i see the discount and cupon, i think tactical is very good for this model, i feel this is wath the If23 should have been, if sofirn gonna us this frame i hope they make an andurlin version

What about the runtime and heat sir? Is it too hot to hold on high mode in 5minutes use?
30lumens/70h, 150lumens/15h, 350lumens/9h, 900lumens/4h, 2200lumens/2.5h. And please no worry, its deep heat cooling fin is enough to make the flashlight rapid heat dissipation.

@@wurkkosmarketing3633 A tail-E-Switch or side switch with Anduril and Aux would fill an awesome niche, there is no (very) long range TIR-based Anduril thrower with Aux. The closest thing is the Fireflylite T1R, and that is much smaller range

Can you confirm that the TD01 uses a Buck FET driver?
Yes. of course. Wurkkos engineer write the buck & FET on its manual.

How about the temperature at 900 lumens, 2200 lumens for 5-10 minutes?
The 5 minutes temp for 900 lumens is warm, I guess only 40℃, but 2200 lumens is hot, I guess 55℃ for 2 minutes, and deep to 50℃ for 5 minutes

About the detail turbo time, I'm not sure. But I can obviously feel that it can maintain a high lumens for a long time.

Good day and Hello Sir Terry count me in! I'm excited as this would be my very first real thrower category flashies in my small EDC collection (I've personally message Wurkkos) and.... my very first for 21700 experience. You recommend this to me over TS22 (but will still get this soon too, expect that). Also, very good price in which I can not REFUSE especially when we are talking for a 1km throw . Kinda eager to compare how it will surely stand out from my recent purchase of FC12. Keenly interested in the TURBO and HIGH setting PERFORMANCE on how long it will Step Down respectively and of course this remains to be seen.
