Did you see that shit where he used his hand??? And then he scrapes the cymbal with his stick?? I think zildjian sent this guy in just to make sabian look stupid
+kimmy101 it was awesome. I didn't even know it was possible, and shame on the drummer who do not explore all the sound possibilites his drums offers. There's a fucking universe out of the box.
Damn, he covered every possible sound those cymbals could make by really hitting it at different angles and different ways. Only using it to probably 90% of it's fullest because we don't know how it sounds with the whole set. Either way, really helpful vid.
You're right, Lance. It's both amazing and shocking to see how so many people react negative to this video. I think it's cool. I like the sound of somewhat "trashy" cymbals.
Guys stop posting meaningless comments. This guy is a marching player, he did apply the same perspective on cymbals, by showing you different possibilities. Own respect or do not watch
People: Appreciate his creativeness and expressiveness on these cymbals he's using the holes to get new sounds, thats cool! Educate your selves its musicality!
Wow good job Sabian ! So basically the first hi hat, is just a B8 bronze stack, the second one an unlathed hi hat top with holes in it and the rest are just regular crashes with holes in them too, what an improvement !
Alpha K Body Inside of the holes of the cymbals? On the cymbal stands? Extremely unnecessary. Maybe if he was doing it with the set he was sitting in front of it'd be alright, show the cymbals in context, but by themselves is really dumb.
I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought it was useless/awkward, he spent so much time fiddling around and not enough actually showing the dynamics with the kit or useful sounds for gigs/jam seshes.
***** When I buy cymbals, I look to see how they work with the set. Cymbals that may sound subpar by themselves can sound beautiful in context. And cymbals that sound beautiful by themselves can sound like ass with the rest of the set. So. There's legitimately no reason why they should play drumset cymbals by themselves.
i would love to hear what those sick hats sound like with the cymbals reversed.. (top on the bottom and bottom on the top) i bet it would sounds great and be easier to play lol
Look, let's face it. you can call the guy strange, give him all the WTFs you want. This dude is so original, he's bigger than the demo. I mean, you read the comments, and only a small portion of them are devoted to the cymbals. that takes something more than skill.
The Assault Hats are a really cool experimental pair of hihats. Don't know if I'd ever call them my main hats, but they look fun as hell to play. Overall, though, the 18" Crash sounds really fucking good. Definitely the most versatile cymbal there.
Ok I notice that Sabian just upgraded their logo so idk if they still make this particular cymbal that I just saw it was that. B8 pro12"Assault Hi-Hat. On the top it looks like the Carmine Appice's old signature signature cymbal.
Esta generación que a huevo quiere inventar algo cae de a madres sin duda lo mejor es lo que hicieron ya los grandes y sin TH-cam ni nada de estas madres de redes*
Somehow, this clip gained lots of crap comments... The guy has great technique and really showed how to play them many different ways and get different sounds. Not just bashing like wood eared rock'n roll junkie. And those stick in the hole -comments... veeery juvenile, blaah
I'm not too keen on the hats but I LOVE those ride cymbals. That HHX Smoky ride has a wicked cool sound; definitely one I'd play. I also really like the AAX Tremor ride too, as that reminds me of a Zildjian ride I had years ago which was nearly the same. It's great that Sabian is always experimenting with new sounds.
Okay for real though he gave you the best cymbal only demo, you can't deny that. He made every sound possible on a cymbal.
Will Cochran
Didn’t drag the stick across a single cymbal lol.
Will Cochran k
Well not all

Good thing I know how that hi-hat stand sounds when you hit it.
It's just a solo.
It's just a joke
That's actually a common technique used in a few Count Basie charts.
Fresco Bangerz It's actually a technique called "Hi-hat tickling"
I like it when he puts the stick in hole
OkinR thats what she said

Did you see that shit where he used his hand??? And then he scrapes the cymbal with his stick?? I think zildjian sent this guy in just to make sabian look stupid

That was hilarious. Thank you for giving a good demonstration without taking yourself too seriously.
this is the best cymbal sound sample ever...you actual played them every way possible to get sound...thats amazing
Damn, he covered every possible sound those cymbals could make by really hitting it at different angles and different ways. Only using it to probably 90% of it's fullest because we don't know how it sounds with the whole set. Either way, really helpful vid.
0:56 Here's a man fingering his hi hat cymbals
Lmaoo #percussion drumNography
they should be called SEXUAL assault hats.
I was just about to make a comment about the same damn thing haha
1:21
That little slap at the end of the 'fingering' is priceless 😂
When How to Basic meets Sabian Cymbals XD
the way he played those cymbals made me feel awkward
4:36 "You've been a bad boy!" 😂
Thank's to everyone for great comments..:-))
Cool cymbals, great demo.
LanceCampeau he did good but he’s on meth
You're right, Lance. It's both amazing and shocking to see how so many people react negative to this video. I think it's cool. I like the sound of somewhat "trashy" cymbals.

I had no idea how vigorous cymbal masturbation was.

This is one of the best presentations I've ever seen,Dano is not onl
y a drummer he is a MUSICIAN,great video and "great" comments :)
why even bother giving him a snare bass and floor tom
Dump Trump t
And a kick lmao
This is a cymbal love child video I've never seen a more loving relationship I'm jealous
S W58 hy
This guy is the best cymbal tester ever LOL
That thing you did at the end sounded amazing!
is this HowToBasic?
Drum version 😛
i love you
yup, bit in a different version and non brutal
Because it's a fucking trend and only basic people follow trends. Basic as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Is not HowToBasic
dano is not touching my kit any time soon
4:58 How he did that???
You push the stick directly into the cymbal and scrape it.
@@willcochran5555 but i wouldn't recommend doing it
Very, VERY interesting cymbal demo! Just wished we could hear them with the kit.
There's a video that has that
People: Appreciate his creativeness and expressiveness on these cymbals he's using the holes to get new sounds, thats cool! Educate your selves its musicality!
i want this guy to test every damn cymbal lol i love him!!
4:57 congratulations, you just made that cymbal sound like a waterphone...
Oh man, I don't think I've ever been so entertained by a cymbal test video ever. Solid chops and hilarious/creative/odd testing methods lol
Wow good job Sabian ! So basically the first hi hat, is just a B8 bronze stack, the second one an unlathed hi hat top with holes in it and the rest are just regular crashes with holes in them too, what an improvement !
Was 90% of this video even remotely necessary?
That's what I was thinking lmao
He's just doing a solo on each of the symbols. Show the dynamics of them.
Alpha K Body Inside of the holes of the cymbals? On the cymbal stands? Extremely unnecessary. Maybe if he was doing it with the set he was sitting in front of it'd be alright, show the cymbals in context, but by themselves is really dumb.

Sorry to hear

The Exploding Moth From Hell bks
the last note is really cool!!!!
he stuck the damn stick in the cymbol the fuck??!?! lmao
I loved it, dunno what everybody is complaining about.
Same!
It's moments like at 4:32 when you start to think, okay, maybe that was a little stupid.
+Andrew Hassell haha lol check 3:27
+Andrew Hassell it's not his fault that you've lost all your playfulness and become a slave to mediocrity
+Swoonpoon wtf.. chill out
Look, let's face it. you can call the guy strange, give him all the WTFs you want. This dude is so original, he's bigger than the demo. I mean, you read the comments, and only a small portion of them are devoted to the cymbals. that takes something more than skill.
Very beautiful sound!!! Very Compliments!!!
New sounds , new perspectives , new drum haters o.o
KABEÇÃO . Handpan Music ca
It just sounds cheap and junky
KABEÇÃO . Handpan Music reudb
I hate when he puts his drum stick in the hole of the cymbals
Sure would like to know how they sound WITH the drums! Stupid demo!
you really took advantage of those holes man! METALIC DOMINATION at its finist
Sick cymbals , and also sick playing on the hats.
That last sound creeps the shit out of me :D
This man knows how to groove. Good demonstration of the cymbals' dynamics.
0:55 Start of footage shown by prosecution
lol 1:43 ''I'm gonna put my drumstick righ into your O'Zone''
Should have demonstrated all these cymbals in some basic grooves as well, instead of putting the sticks in the holes and other unnecessary stuff.
giggity
bidder321 XD
what about to try to use your brain(?) and internet... here is the video from the same shooting with whole set... omg....
/watch?v=8GMKZ2jlzKM
It’s a shame that the B8 Pro series doesn’t exist anymore.
It's like HowToBasic made a cymbal video
Correction: AA Chris Dave Hats 18"
Amazing!
Honestly wanted to hear the cymbals being played with the drums, sick hats need a sick groove.
The Assault Hats are a really cool experimental pair of hihats. Don't know if I'd ever call them my main hats, but they look fun as hell to play.
Overall, though, the 18" Crash sounds really fucking good. Definitely the most versatile cymbal there.
This is cool, I never realized you could make so many sounds on a cymbal.
Them cymbals will sound good for songs
I think this guy has amazing skill
no one else could have done it any better
That first hi-hat be like:
*"YES FEED ME DRUMSTICK"*
Masterful playing.
Had a camber back in the day that sounded like the last one.
fantastic is amazing
I've never seen a cymbal with holes in it! In the 60s my father had on with loose rivets in it.
awsome drummer
I can’t believe I actually just saw that
first ones, I love Sabian also
The cymbals crying in the shower like I.. I thought he.. loved me..
Great stick work!
The first hi hat is so fucking sick! I swear I NEED one of those.
Ok I notice that Sabian just upgraded their logo so idk if they still make this particular cymbal that I just saw it was that. B8 pro12"Assault Hi-Hat. On the top it looks like the Carmine Appice's old signature signature cymbal.
Love the Assault Hats
hes murdering the cymbals!!!!!
that is the first B8 that I would ever fuck with.
Pensar que tiré la panera de acero inoxidable que tenía mi mamá cuando era chico... Sonaba igual !!!
that 2nd hh i really liked it
Very interesting. I need some time to feel this future...

This was a parody of cymbals demonstration. Not to be taken seriously. Haven't laughed so hard in a long time especially these comments.
How do u know it is
love it!
He's trying to kill them.
that 2nd hi-hat just took trypophobia to a new level.
very good, creative and caffeinated player
THATS A RIDE?! I THOUGHT THAT WAS A CRASH!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how he inserted the stick to the symbal hole.. Or am I?
3:43 That is an HHX Smoky 21 Ride
1:21 - Why?
I don't like both hi-hats. As for the crashes, they don't sound bad but what about durability with all that holes?
This is like drum asmr
