The whole talk about "giving" the playerbase king Narses was a bit short sighted from the whole panel. If you dont buy void shards or save specificly for guarenteeds you dont get Narsas. So for most players your now fighting Tarichka and/or The wight duo. And if your not buying Primals you wont be getting one for a long time unless you get very lucky. For the rest an intresting discussion!

I was doing Arena battles this morning for the Fusion and I saw a player that had a Mythical but the player was only level 63. I’m level 97 so figured it should be no problem. The Mythical was Siegfrund and I got my ass handed to me. So yeah, just a little bit of power creep.
We need a part two on this.
How do they fix the power creep? How do they keep the game interesting without power creeping it?
Since they are not working at Plarium, they can do nothing about it, but they are doing Fateless, they could maybe only talk about how they will prevent power creeps in their game. That would be a good part 2 video.😊
Personally, they need to Handicap ALL Arena Defences. That way they reward players who engage in a mode not punish them.

an interesting idea regarding debuffs in general would be the addition of content that benefits from debuffs - thinking about Conellia's sleep mechanic, thinking about Gurptuk's poisons - it'd be cool if there was some addition in the future that *wants* to be polymorphed to unlock a secret skill or want's their allies to be polymorphed so they get lasers or something ridiculous, an engaging way to change the way player's approach buffs/debuffs
Lasers =D In my mind its like Superman's heat vision, and like a beam with a side sweep from one end to the other....

If you think anout it, the mythicals along with the Tarichka and Narcora and Rophi and the othe duos, have given the variety we needed for so long.

The biggest power creep is TIME, If you have plus 4's and can 1 shot bosses with 6 star blessings etc then you free up loads of time to play the game. The time it takes to do daily tasks with a full time job, keeping fit etc I struggle to find time to refine teams etc. I think the whales are so far ahead they could up rates for legos etc

The separation between Middle (easily attainable) gamers and Eng Gamers is TOO far and insurmountable, so mid-gamers will be giving up in droves and end-gamers, as in Live Arena, will run out of foes.

I love Siegfrund and have since I pulled him about a month ago. He was one of 2 mythical champs that I had a 5 star soul waiting in my collection. His stats are out of this world as far as f2p accounts go.
He has 41k hp
7,227 atk (+ 91 flat & 16% more atk if I max glyph all his substats and fully ascend his ring)
2.9k def
217spd (33 more from maxed glyphs)
100% crit rate
310% crit dmg (+ 4 more from his amulet)
200 res (0 from his gear lol)
269 acc (42 more from maxed glyphs)
He also has a 5 star chest and boots (speed) and is in Crit dmg, Fatal (not lethal), and cruel sets.
My favorite part about him is NM campaign farming and one shooting Sintranos bosses by targeting the lower hp minions w/ his a3 and then doing over 1 million dmg to the boss or bosses (for the double trouble).

I fought armanz in live arena twice last night (people have summoned him from shards) and i didnt take a single turn both fights pretty much, paired him with mikage who just aoe stuns between the turns armanz finally has downtime, it took the enemy ages to kill me but they eventually grinded me down, while i was just sitting there watching not being able to do anything. Great game.

Sure, and what champs did you used against it? If you dont have good champs, its not the enemy or Armanz's/Mikage's fault... be better, use better artifacts and accessories, and most important... pay more money 😂

For the long time health of the game the current direction probably isn't that good, but I'm personally in a good place right now and still enjoying it, especially if I manage to progress in TTA thanks to Narses and other champs I've been pulling. Also got all the champs for Mikage and a 2* souls for her.
No one is really touching on the fact that players who dont buy primals cannot get mythicals…mercy takes 3+ years to hit. Is that healthy for the game?
You can try your luck with cursed remnants... In 3 years if you're not this far, it's not anyone's fault.
I’ve not bought any yet pulled a mythical. It’s certainly possible.
@@joswinpais1240The remnants only exist as a work around to primal mercy. They gave us those summons instead of 10 primals because it’s effectively much worse. The mercy on those might as well not exist also.
I already down amius, am active in gold 3 live arena, clan wins hydra clash, I do events…even after all of that i’ve accumulated 43 primals total, which includes freebies.

Many free to play have landed Mythic Champs already. It's the RNG.
I was insanely lucky enough to pull an Androc, and he's basically two champions. In live Arena, getting a full buff strip and an AoE enfeeble is game over. In PVE, he's really good at keeping the team alive.

With due respect to Sapphyra (who did caveat his opinion, to be fair), I'm looking forward to Armanz cheesing Doom Tower. Sometimes you don't get the champs or gear you need to clear content, especially for people who don't spend money on the game or devote many hours to it. Armanz gives you a great tool to get over those obstacles in his current form. I think its more than fine that players don't struggle for hours with DT waves, even if that's what people had to suffer through in the past. In fact, the amount of time that Raid takes to play these days, is part of the reason I don't play much anymore. And if Armanz helps with that...I think that's only a plus.
As for power creep in general. It happens in all games I've played, usually as an ebb and flow. From MMO's to FPS to card games, Gacha, and lots of games in between. You even get in D&D, a board game of all things. So I don't mind power creep. If a game is around long enough, you might even get a squish/reset or however you may want to call it, when the devs adjust down the power levels, just to start the cycle anew.
Having said all that, though, the one game that handled it well, that comes to immediate mind, is Guild Wars 2. I've played on and off last few years, and while it does have power creep, for some reason, I can't quite explain, feels very organic and less impactful. Of course, a big advantage in a lot of those type of games, is that there is active balancing, which translates to buffs, and nerfs, which RSL seems very reluctant to do, when its called for.
But, if Plarium ever wanted to address power creep, they can start by tuning down the stat bonuses of blessings. It blew my mind to learn that blessings can give more stats than empowerment, which seem backwards.

One thing I would like to comment on: Saph was saying how Armanz is bad because he can perma disable a champion with sheep and cd skills. Yumeko/warlord do that for the whole team. I would prefer to have one champion sheeped, than have all my cd's f-ed by one of them. It at least gives me a chance to do something about it.
I mean Armanz is good but he is not broken. There are plenty of more cancerous champs out there in the meta. So I think it's good to give people that don't pull a lot of voids a chance to combat some of that craziness.

Personally, if they nerfed Champs this power creep would be concerning because there would be a lopsided balance at the top. Since they go the route of not nerfing and releasing Champs to balance the game it kind of has to happen. I think it is a bad way to balance the game though.

Don't know about you but when you get 2x max chest on UNM every day and you only see one sacred in 2-3 weeks, it is not easy to do fusion. But otherwise ya power creep is pretty bad. It feels like there is just too much to remember, who does what, who counters that guy there, oh shit I forgot that guy does this other thing..

It is so hard to appreciate most of this conversation. 3 years in and not even a whiff of a Siphi, no mythic, very few Void Legendaries. I just tread water in regular arena, but definitely a fun and lively convo!

Hey Raid, 2 easy ones. Auto target green bars in Hydra. Filter out Max Level champs in the sparring pit selection screen.
I kinda like my Krixia.
Form 1 is basically a lockout champ like Warlord or Basher + Block debuffs
Form 2 is a reset champ like Kymar or Yumeko + remove debuffs
Gives you a lot of options in arena, and even decently counters other Warlord/Yumemko/Basher comps in a go-second.
Power creep is definitely occurring, that's simple fact. However, as a fairly casual, very low spend player who mostly enjoys the pve elements of advancing my account and just staying in Gold V for those sweet stat buffs, I've been enjoying the game as much as ever. Armanz might just be too powerful though; when the game, for me, IS the challenge to progress my account, he's going to make a lot of stuff a lot easier! 😬
It's just hard to keep up with this power creep. Solid champs you used a couple months ago feel weak, so you either have to keep spending money to pull the new champs and/or soul.

Different options to add power to my champions I see it as a very good thing. I can do a bit of a doom tower , sintranos , live arena. I enjoy the game.

then it became a fusion and some titan or hero path in between fusions
now it's a fusion with a hero path or deck of fate for some soul or champ while doing the fusion stuff

I took a break for about 6 months from the game. I get back into it and I’m doing a live arena in bronze and fight against an account with all mythical champs selected. I haven’t played that game mode since.

Moving into the subject... It's madness. A year ago I 1 keyed Hydra Normal for the first time. Last week we unlocked Nightmare Hydra as a clan and in my first run I got 99.6m. This week I reached the turn limit and got 135m. A lot of that is champions but I do have souls and going from 4 to 5/6 is insanely different.
Tried out Bloodline, and I already have 6 (including a repeat) mythic champs. I started last week
HH did them dirty hovering over the hydra clash while talking about the state of the game lol

YST had the same sentiment as I did, when the game got stale late last year. I stopped buying the monthly gem packs because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next in Raid. I do a fusion here and there (i.e. Timit, Armanz and an event or two for souls (which are pretty darn rewarding, as pointed out here in the video)). I think the devs are trying to keep our interest a little better nowadays.
Was so excited when I pulled siegfrund, but his mechanic didn’t work correctly, and even after the buff is still wonky, he will revive, but if he’s poisoned he just dies again, makes no sense, I don’t normally spend money but the prism and primal events get me sometimes now, I did pull my only 2 leggos during knights rev prism because I was seriously lacking there, blade master and kalvalax, so that was nice

I am maybe mid to early-late game. The power creep did not need to be so advanced in the champs with the blessings for the current content in my opinion. The way I have used almost no rares to reach the place I am at now is kinda annoying. The fact that every rarity level increases every aspect of the champ power just amplifies the disparity in rarity power. Increased stats, better and more skills with more diverse functionality and stronger buffs/debuffs, stronger auras, and now massively better awakening buffs with each increase in rarity.
Despite the differences in total strength and utility between rarities, the only thing that changes in fully leveling champs of different rarities is the type and availability of books. So sure, I can more easily book a Reliquary Tender than a higher rarity champ yet she will still take the same amount of time and resources to raise her to 6* (more actually when compared to higher rarity champs that start off higher to begin with), same amount of Minotaur runs to complete her masteries (or gems), need to gear her out amply as well, and on top of it she gets weaker awakening choices. But to get through secret rooms and some Sintranos content, it might still be necessary to go through all this added effort for an essentially low value gimpy champ (speaking generally, not RT) that will not translate to any other area of the game. So the thought of wasting time with any of them is
The blessings giving the HP bonus at 1* is really helping me get through more content than previously, which feels good. What doesn't feel good is the way they are gating so much of everything behind pvp now, especially live arena, with the great hall bonuses feeling utterly out of reach and reliant on competing with people who may be significant spenders or many years into the game. Ramantu seems like a pipe dream. As does Marius. I get it that they are adding content that is not necessarily for me, but for people that have been playing for a long time and need more to do. The thought of ever catching up to them seems to revolve around getting really lucky with pulls, working 2x as hard, and/or 2x as smart.
Champs like Sun Wukong also allowed me to progress in a lot of content, which again feels good. On the flip side it feels equally frustrating being on the receiving end of it, lol. Running into champs like Taras in arena is not even remotely fun. The guy even seems to have a completely overpowered animation and sound effect to rub it in your face how blatantly over the top he is. Like you guys are bringing up, more champs are popping up that are mythical, and at the same time less epic, and almost never a rare in Gold 5.
Another area of creep is gear. So many areas of the game (arena included) reward 5* gear which simply feels bad as the stats are going to be significantly worse than a 6* piece, and the thought of more than a few 5* pieces on a champ seems almost non-viable. I'm not even close to being a high-end player, and still find the majority of gear that I find to be largely undesirable. Maybe I need to buy a 3* lego life set piece from the market for 600k silver, joking.
It feels to me like the power creep is Plarium moving the goalposts which in a way makes me feel like the game is ultimately less accessible to me, rather than more. It's not just a matter of more content to eventually work my way through. It's that the path through involves me constantly competing with others who are more advanced due to time played and/or money invested, in a way that seems impossible to catch up to. That is hard work, skill, and smarts aside.
