Week 1 was a wash no one played well and the 1st drive of that game he was playing well then on the field goal to go up 3-0 it gets blocked then you lose your starting right tackle your ALL PRO LT at that and the team was done. Week 2 he has the amazing second half come back scoring 32 points to win cause the defense still wasn't playing like it was now but lose Barkely for 3 games and the o line couldn't block. A healthy o line or at least average o line play and good running game goes a long way. This kid looks good now but the line in intact and playing much better and barkely back and they running the ball at more committed pace. They finally letting Hyatt play more also which he should have been in way more from the beginning. As much as everyone was talking about tyord and now this kid the offense isn't blowing ppl away. All I say is open qb competition and let's see how it goes as far as I'm concerned Jones play from week 2 in the come back was the best play any 3 qb has done this season everyone else has maintained
Keep in mind that it’s very likely Jones will not be back until mid or very late November considering how late he ended up getting his surgery this year. If the Giants are winning games and the starting quarterback, they choose to start next year is performing well and the team is in the hunt for the playoffs. Let it ride... We are going to win period. Leadership is the key. The Giants need a Leader at the most important position on the team, QB. Davito is in the driver's seat, not because of injury, but because Jones lost the locker room a long time ago. It's Davito's job to lose.
Jones lost the locker room when they lost by 40 points without putting up a single point in the first game. On primetime. Then followed it up two games later with another terrible game on primetime. Then getting blown out in Seattle. It was a wrap after that.
The body of work by Tommy D is small but not minuscule. The kid has that “it factor.” You can’t teach it or scout it. This is why finding a QB is so hard. This is why there are so many mediocre cannon-armed QBs. There’s more to quarterbacking that just throwing the ball. The toughest job for a QB is between the ears: reading defenses, going through progressions, making smart quick decisions, etc Tommy is showing that he is a winner & has those intangibles. If the Giants are healthy they can be dangerous. This is still a young & growing team. Tommy D is creating a a growing QB controversy in NY. This is a good “problem” to have. He could very well be the next Brock Purdy. The 49ers traded multiple picks for Trey Lance which was a disaster but lucked out with taking Purdy in Round 7. Without Purdy they are not the current NFC #1 Seed. Purdy & Lance are a prime example of how hard it is to scout QBs. 31 teams passed on Purdy but look at him now. Tommy Cutlets could be the new starting QB but the Giants have found a very capable backup QB at the very least
These games are getting awful. Terrible play calls, mediocre talent, players committing the worst penalties (Packer player getting hit by punt, Chiefs player lining up offsides ....) flags on every other play, hyper analysis of replay (overturning a Dallas nonTD call after zooming in on the laces of the ball in the middle of the pile maybe crossing the plane giving Dallas a TD), players caring more about end zone routines and being actors in commercials than about playing solid football. Temper tantrums, throwing helmets. Really the NFL has devolved into an absolute mess.
Every team is looking for their Brock Purdy. New York might have found theirs. There's something different about this kid. He's got that winner's fire in him. That story Shannon told about him saying "let it ride" and putting it on himself, that's huge for a locker room. And then you look at the eye test. He's accurate, he protects the ball, and he's dangerous with his legs. We'll see how he does once defenses start getting more film on him, but if he keeps this up, I don't see how you can take the ball from him.
LOL everything said here about Tommy Devito can also be said about Daniel Jones in previous years as well. I personally never saw an issue with the QB position. It was always a team issue (offensive line, receivers, special teams, defense and coaching). Definitely like the hype this kid brings to NY/NJ though.

Daniel jones was never good. His 40million dollar season consisted of 15 passing touchdowns and 7 rushing. Before he got injured, he threw for only 2 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. In 6 games, he averaged an interception, and had one game where he threw for 2 touchdowns. That means the other 4, he threw none while he didn’t finish the other game. What what world is that worth 40 million a year. Jones is probably the worst starting quarterback in the league. I would rather have Mormon Wilson over Daniel jones

I couldn’t even get past the first part of this. Did Stephen A do any research for this? Jordan Love was just one of a hundred question marks coming into the season. His top 2 TEs and entire WR corp are 1st and 2nd year players. There were major concerns, still are, about Joe Barry running the defense. No Packers fan with an ounce of reason expected more than 6 or 7 wins this year, so they’re already on pace to greatly exceed expectations. And did he really point out the turnover difference between wins and losses? Really? So out here dropping the super analyst knowledge that turnovers are related to wins and losses? Young teams are inconsistent. Settle down.
Jones will start next year ($69 m cap hit) and DeVito should be the back-up. DJ will probably get hurt again because of OL malpractice (Neal and Ezeudu). Giants are better off drafting the LSU WR 1st rd then RT in 2nd round. 3rd round take best DL then fill out RB and ST with rest of draft. Use $60m in cap availability on vets with some miles left.

FOR MONTHS, I've been saying that Daniel Jones is just average and didn't deserve that big paycheck. And Giants fans kept coming at me, telling me, "well if you give him some WR's, he can be elite." FLASH FORWARD to this morning.. I'm LMAO. These are the same WR's... and we have a winner in Tommy Devito. Three straight wins. I'm a realist, I don't defend average players when I see it, even if they are on my team. Where are those Giants Daniel Jones defenders now?

Let it ride... We are going to win period. Leadership is the key. The Giants need a Leader at the most important position on the team, QB. Davito is in the driver's seat, not because of injury, but because Jones lost the locker room a long time ago. It's Davito's job to lose.
Jones lost the locker room when they lost by 40 points without putting up a single point in the first game. On primetime. Then followed it up two games later with another terrible game on primetime. Then getting blown out in Seattle. It was a wrap after that.

The body of work by Tommy D is small but not minuscule. The kid has that “it factor.” You can’t teach it or scout it. This is why finding a QB is so hard. This is why there are so many mediocre cannon-armed QBs. There’s more to quarterbacking that just throwing the ball. The toughest job for a QB is between the ears: reading defenses, going through progressions, making smart quick decisions, etc Tommy is showing that he is a winner & has those intangibles. If the Giants are healthy they can be dangerous. This is still a young & growing team. Tommy D is creating a a growing QB controversy in NY. This is a good “problem” to have. He could very well be the next Brock Purdy. The 49ers traded multiple picks for Trey Lance which was a disaster but lucked out with taking Purdy in Round 7. Without Purdy they are not the current NFC #1 Seed. Purdy & Lance are a prime example of how hard it is to scout QBs. 31 teams passed on Purdy but look at him now. Tommy Cutlets could be the new starting QB but the Giants have found a very capable backup QB at the very least
Get a true #1 wr and some oline help next season and ride with Devito!
These games are getting awful. Terrible play calls, mediocre talent, players committing the worst penalties (Packer player getting hit by punt, Chiefs player lining up offsides ....) flags on every other play, hyper analysis of replay (overturning a Dallas nonTD call after zooming in on the laces of the ball in the middle of the pile maybe crossing the plane giving Dallas a TD), players caring more about end zone routines and being actors in commercials than about playing solid football. Temper tantrums, throwing helmets. Really the NFL has devolved into an absolute mess.

Every team is looking for their Brock Purdy. New York might have found theirs. There's something different about this kid. He's got that winner's fire in him. That story Shannon told about him saying "let it ride" and putting it on himself, that's huge for a locker room. And then you look at the eye test. He's accurate, he protects the ball, and he's dangerous with his legs. We'll see how he does once defenses start getting more film on him, but if he keeps this up, I don't see how you can take the ball from him.

LOL everything said here about Tommy Devito can also be said about Daniel Jones in previous years as well. I personally never saw an issue with the QB position. It was always a team issue (offensive line, receivers, special teams, defense and coaching). Definitely like the hype this kid brings to NY/NJ though.
But Daniel Jones has had 6 seasons now. Also he can't beat our division rivals besides Washington. He's not the guy.
@@TheSwayzeee the only reason I can give to not move forward with him is because he’s injury prone now. And Tommy is significantly younger and fresh. I understand he’s had 6 seasons already but any lack of success isn’t only on him but it’s on the whole team. I don’t see any difference in the way Devito and DJ plays-they’re both similar in play. I truly believe DJ would have as much success as Tommy has now with this “improved” team. As a Giants fan, I’m not trying to defend Daniel Jones but lol I’ve seen this story before lol.

Daniel jones was never good. His 40million dollar season consisted of 15 passing touchdowns and 7 rushing. Before he got injured, he threw for only 2 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. In 6 games, he averaged an interception, and had one game where he threw for 2 touchdowns. That means the other 4, he threw none while he didn’t finish the other game. What what world is that worth 40 million a year. Jones is probably the worst starting quarterback in the league. I would rather have Mormon Wilson over Daniel jones

It really great for Tomny having a night but Jones is a different story. I’m not saying Devito is the answer it’s the fact they have signed Jones for a contract that he shouldn’t have to begin with.
Aaron Jones makes a huge difference when healhty in that Offense. This should be noted.

I couldn’t even get past the first part of this. Did Stephen A do any research for this? Jordan Love was just one of a hundred question marks coming into the season. His top 2 TEs and entire WR corp are 1st and 2nd year players. There were major concerns, still are, about Joe Barry running the defense.
No Packers fan with an ounce of reason expected more than 6 or 7 wins this year, so they’re already on pace to greatly exceed expectations.
And did he really point out the turnover difference between wins and losses? Really? So out here dropping the super analyst knowledge that turnovers are related to wins and losses?

Jones will start next year ($69 m cap hit) and DeVito should be the back-up. DJ will probably get hurt again because of OL malpractice (Neal and Ezeudu). Giants are better off drafting the LSU WR 1st rd then RT in 2nd round. 3rd round take best DL then fill out RB and ST with rest of draft. Use $60m in cap availability on vets with some miles left.
Jones always looks confused. Keep devito and get rid of their overrated 40 mil quarterback. The new York fans should demand it.
