@18:00 notice there is a hole behind the face plate, generally white with a black (-) down the center. This is where they adjust the calibration at the factory before applying the face plate. If you want to adjust the pot at a later date the owner can choose to make an opening in the face plate for screwdriver access to the resistor while operating the unit.
I agree with your 3 stars Pros - Smart and rotary selector design. AC/DC Voltage and Resistance/Cont/Diode separated by OFF. - Practical slim design Case and leads. - Brass sleeve screw inserts. Cons - Price. - Battery access, wish there's a separate battery compartment. - Should be the common CR2025/32 instead of LR44. I have a few Sanwa too. They are nice quality meters. Great review sir. Do more Japanese TMI please. Hehe
Completely true 👍 The battery access definitely could use a revamp. For some end users popping the case off could be traumatic..and I mean that in earnest! More Japanese multimeter reviews coming your way !
Nice review. Decent quality pocket DMM. I've found that most of these slim pocket DMM's won't test LED's, possibly due to them using the button cell batteries. But I think that can be forgiven, since this is meant for portability to use in the field. I like Sanwa, I have an analog VOM made by them. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for with their products.
Spot on! Sanwa is definitely a name you can trust. I guess we are spoiled these days and when a certain functionality is missing we can be very unforgiving! This little pocket multimeter does alot and its built to last.
woowww!! tiny, gorgeous yet trusted meter.. i don't mind to slip it in my go-to bag, don't mind at all. btw Darren, i think you forgot to put the failed led test to the cons list.. 😉
So true, shame on me! It was a big beef of mine and definitely should have been on the naughty list. Thx for keeping me on the straight and narrow! FYI, the diode voltage output was only 1.5v, unfortunately that edit didn't make it either.
You can request some multimeter companies for a review unit, show them what you got!; OR : they contact you themselves after watching over the internet who is doing good; OR ; sometimes you buy them yourselves or most of the time, I think.
A bit dissapointing in LED test.. It's a function that i use a lot. Anyway, except the previous fact, the Japanese quality is a guarantee on its own! ❤
Quality is much better than the Sanwa CD771, and that was a good size meter, but sadly it showed more chinese quality than Japanese. The build quality in this one is indeed surprising, but kinda expensive considering what you can get for the same money - even so this ones nicely put together and im not even too put off by the no light diodes as most smaller meters wont do it and I dont feel most coin celled smaller meters diode ranges are really intended to light diodes anyway but rather to just test common diodes-? Put this quality in the CD771 and now ya got something-!
Good Multimeter, a bit pricey although the build quality and PCB design seems top notch for the price, would have liked if it passed the LED test, nice review though 👍
Another great review, thanks Darren! I do think, however, that you were in a bad mood when you reviewed that Sata!...lol! The lead lengths were about the same as this one but you hated em..lol. And at least they made "some" attempt at flip-over hinges. They do now make an auto-ranger for under $17 here: www.ebay.com/itm/Compant-Digital-Multimeter-LCD-Auto-Tester-AC-DC-DMM-Amp-Ohm-Diode-Continuity/402225872133?hash=item5da687bd05:g:SysAAOSwVPBeloJG on the EM3082 option button. I know you will hate it though as it has the same opener...lol! But the dial.....we can always stab it with our pocket-knife and twist it.....lmao! The Sanwa is now $50 US but even that is a tough price, i would think, for most....for what it is. I will stick with my little Micronta 22-171A if i really need a very tiny one. Thanks Darren!
You might have a point there..Definitely not in the same league as SANWA build quality wise but I've definitely seen worse! Good idea about the pocket knife...hehe 🤣

Accuracy is amazing......for a pocket meter...
Definitely loving the Sanwa accuracy 👌
Very nice pocket multimeter, accurate and rugged.
Agreed! , its a really nicely designed pocket multimeter.
Great video...I am looking to make a micro tool kit for repairing scissor lifts in Highrise buildings. This is going to be an awesome addition.
¡Hola a todos! Saludos desde Monterrey, Nuevo León, México 🇲🇽

More Japanese TMI review coming you say!? Hurray!! Long live Darren Walker.
@@yusdiy Awww shucks 🤪
Thanks Darren. I have to admit that the quality is very good. It's too bad that the diode function doesn't test LEDs.
Agree 100%
Super..... Cute multimeter. I loved it ❤️
"Olá a todos." Very well. :)
Another good review.
Gracias!
Is this available in India?
Please mention the address 🙏🏻
Where can I get get one

I thought you were going to be a japanese fanboy at first but this is a good review.
Oh my god, a product with logical engineering, I feel weak!

@@KeepOnTesting 1.5v? ooh no.. why sanwa.. why?

Your link is now US$ 49-49, Still a little bit pricey in my opinion. Best wishes from this side of the pond.
Definitely the best price/seller Combination, he always ships fast and safely. CHEERS MY Irish friend!!
The date marking is surprizingly similar to Kinpo/Citizen/Inventec scientific calculators. Isn't this thing made by Kinpo???
Good question, I don't know who the OEM is for this meter...but I'll dig 😉
All the best stuff is made in Japan.
A bit dissapointing in LED test.. It's a function that i use a lot. Anyway, except the previous fact, the Japanese quality is a guarantee on its own! ❤
Yes the LED surprised me as well! LOVE the Japanese quality 🤗
Please do a video about diY shielding. ;)
Great idea!😃👍
@@KeepOnTesting There isn't any video about that on TH-cam
@@Jose-Ribeiro Yet ! 😀👍
I love how the leads have a dedicated compartment....Why can't other manufactures have this in mind? I'd pay a little extra for a solid design
Nice pocket meter! Very tempting........ must not order.... must not order....
Resistance is futile.. 🤣
that not to bad master Darren sold.
Great 👍 Sanwa quality!

Great point...absolutely love the attention to detail in this little pocket multimeter it shows you that Sanwa can still put out great instruments!

VERY disappointed in the led/forward v drop tests. And at that price, too!
Agreed, it should've performed way better in the led/diode test.
Gimme da meetah!!
Whoops, wrong channel... =P
