- The Headless Mule is a ghostly entity from Brazilian folklore, a terrifying being that haunts travelers at night. Its body is that of a mule, but without a head, with a pair of bright eyes and burning flames coming out of its neck. Its appearance is considered a bad omen, a harbinger of death and misfortune.
