  • It's an import vs muscle drag race at the Irwindale 1/8th mile drag strip for a 70 Challenger vs 95 300ZX. The Nissan has a traction advantage with its summer tires vs all season tires on the Challenger. The Challenger has the horsepower advantage with the Gen 3 5.7 Hemi V8. It's a battle of import tuner vs muscle car, V6 vs V8, 5-speed vs 6-speed, JDM vs American muscle, and high performance tires vs street tires. No supercharger, no twin turbo, just classic V8 muscle car horsepower vs a high-revving JDM V6 goodness.

    That really is a beautiful challenger! The power that thing is pushing out is 300ZX TWIN TURBO territory though!
    Good fun race; the Z is much more of a GT cruiser, the RS5R30A doesn’t like fast shifts.

    Hi Berry, I discovered your channel a few days ago, and as an owner of a 95 300ZX myself I have really enjoyed watching you do a great job give this beautiful car a new lease on life. And not to mention how much this will help others. I have needed to replace my stereo for quite some time now but have never come up with a good solution for mounting the rear speakers. When I saw the mounts you made I just had to ask if you would be interested in making me a pair. Those would be the incentive I need to some tunes back in my Z. I would be more than happy to pay you whatever you feel would make it worthwhile to you. Also, would you please tell me which Pioneer head unit that is? It's a great fit. Thanks. Here's mine btw. th-cam.com/video/nJqmskLiDvg/w-d-xo.html

    About the same rating as an LS3. I got an LS3 EROD I'm swapping into my 90 300ZX. Fortunately, mine is already manual....Since your Z is a 95 you can swap in an LS3 EROD too. I just bought LOJ's kit recently, because they had a black friday sale. I think I'm gonna start doing the swap Feb, Mar. It's too cold lately, so I don't wanna touch it.
    Let me ask you, since I seen you wash your 5 speed tranny in a prior video. What are you supposed to cover when you pressure wash it? I want to degrease mine, and will take it to one of those coin car washes. Thanks. Good job btw on all your progress!

    • @JeffAlgarra
      @JeffAlgarra ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noboltsleftbehind That's what I mean, rebuild the auto or change the convertor. Autos are always faster in drag racing, it will always shift faster than a human can manually change gears without losing boost in between shifts.

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JeffAlgarra That's true but the auto also eats up precious horsepower and weighs more than the manual. I think it's typical for cars of this era for the manual to beat the auto if you can shift right. Modern autos and higher horsepower cars it's a different story for sure.
