- If you are a big fan of KDM, Korean cars and really love retro, vintage, classic cars, you will love this Hyundai Azera or Hyundai Grandeur EV Restomod! To celebrate 35 years of Hyundai Grandeur, Hyundai has restored the original Hyundai Grandeur and turned it into this EV restomod. This new Hyundai, or restomod features pixilated headlamp and taillamp system and a vastly improved interior. And we also had a quick chance to take a look at the Hyundai Pony EV Restomod as well. Hyundai is also proud to present that they have been working on Electric Vehicle development since the 1990s. I really wanted to share this awesome restomod for Hyundai Azera or Hyundai Grandeur, KDM, or Korean car fans! So, let’s take a quick look!

@@gavcom4060 Not when it comes to making them electric. Making them with basic shapes like retro cars would actually make it less expensive for manufacturers to make.
@@nikasukiashvili2622 no it would not, they would have to be completely redesigned to make a production car. You know, those classic cars did not have crumple zones or airbags, or any other safety features. Nowadays the whole body would have to be reimagined just to make regulators happy. No car can just be revived as an electric version, its a ton of work and technically even harder to do than to design a new car, because with classics they have to redesign the car while keeping the classic body shape, which is nearly impossible to do
it has to meet many new standards like international collision standards which i doupt it will given the way its frame was made

I think hyundai is the only brand right now that really gets that people love this cyberpunk 2077 kinda style and im so happy they actually made it into a reality rather then just a fun idea

@@michaelash9792 they took that straight out of cyberpunk haha. But its more futuristic with lots of fluent lines still. I love the old retro cyberpunk style with lots of rough edges, light, and wide bodyparts. I like that some companies do take some inspiration tho haha

Personally, I wish car manufacturers would revive the 80's cars designs with the current EV engines tech. Since in my view the past designs are really nice, I'm sure there is a market for it, hence it would become profitable for the manufacturers.
Maybe, we all could enjoy driving a brand new EV which looks appealing like the old 80's cars!

All of the modern regulations like pedestrian safety measures etc prevent that from happening.
Yeh, I thought about that issue, but I think that with the advancement of safety systems (pre-collusion and other systems) along with composite materials (which for instance could be less 'hard'), car manufacturers would be able to build 80's style cars that would be safe also in regard to pedestrians safety.
So I'm still try to be optimistic that taking all the above into account, we could maybe be able to buy EV's that designed 80's style.

Today's cars are better made. The alloys we currently use are designed not to damage the occupants. While older cars felt more robust and 'metaly', they could often cave in or translate impact to the people sitting inside.. much more dangerous.
The cars back then can hold up in minor crashes but when comes to major crashes, good luck and hope you survive, sure, cars today are made to break but it's for safety reasons.
Modern car design is dictated by computer simulations for purposes of aerodynamics and crash safety. This leads to most cars having the same shape or silhouette. This will only continue

This car reminds me of the Villefort Delamain Cab from Cyberpunk 2077. I love these type of cars like this one for todays future in the 2020s and on. I love futuristic 1980s cars. As a kid growing up in the 90s, i watched alot of 80s,90s sci-fi action movies such as "Total Recall" "The Running man" Escape from New York" and so many others and cars like these bring back memories 😊👍🏻📼📺📼 Just imagine if Lamborghini did something similar to a 1986 Countach.
