I would love to see a video of your entire beauty inventory after all your declutters. Makeup, brushes, tools, skincare, body, hair, nails, perfume and backups ect. Including all the stuff you're keeping as of the beginning of 2022 like any stuff that you've kept separate for videos or stuff entering the try out draw or the daily rotation. I'd love to see basically all your products all in one place - stuff you're currently using from the bathroom shelf, handbags ect and all the stuff not seen in this declutter series because they've been somewhere else. I know this is a lot to ask but it would be really cool to see everything all together and how you organise everything. Thanks so much and I absolutely love your videos

My friends always make fun of how many brushes I have, but I love them all! You're not alone, sister
So, I'm a knitter & crocheter... and we have this sentiment in the fiber community that yarn/fiber acquisition and pattern collecting are they themselves their own hobbies, separate from the actual hobby/craft/skill of knitting/crocheting/spinning/weaving. Brushes don't go bad and as long as the space isn't needed for something else, I'm failing to see the harm. You already own them and you haven't added that many in recent memory. You also got rid of like... 1/6th of what you had. I think you need to stop beating yourself up. What I will say is that I think with the Colourpop brushes, you should do a reckoning with them after you've had the chance to use them for a while and do a review and decide which ones are allowed to enter your collection officially and which can go straight into the declutter bin. This is a technique I've watched Hannah Louise Poston use quite a bit and I've found it really helpful myself... not just with makeup but with my crafting/art tools and supplies too (especially when things are given to me).
I was actually thinking with some of the pretty brushes you want to keep but maybe not use all that often or ever... you could a display box of them with "In case of makeup emergency, break glass" on it. It's a riff on something I've seen in the art community that's usually done with yarn & tools or art supplies and paper. Could be a chuckle and a cute display for the pretty ones.
Me: only owns a set and a half of BH Cosmetics brushes..
Also me: watching an hour of a brush collection where 1 brush is worth more than all of mine combined.

I said to my daughter the other day, coz I'm realistic lol, 'when I pop my clogs sell my Sonia G and kyoduo brushes on Ebay if you don't want them' ... They're quality. I had to tell her the price but I justified it by saying, they'll outlive me! I don't think you should ever feel bad, you do a great job advising us on so many makeup and brush related things and they all have, or had, a purpose at some stage 👍

I looked up the chikuhodo brush and found that Tesshu is the 2 nd generation of the company. His father Kazuo Takemori was the founder, who started as a doll paintig brush maker and then his son started to make makeup brushes
I now feel like i need to go through my brushes. Those double ended brushes from ABH and urban decay are great for special effects makeup because it doesnt matter if they get totally destroyed
Finally, the brush guru. I hope it has some mid range brushes in there. Love your nails, although I don’t know how you do chores with them, or even unscrew lids😀😀😀.

I think because it looks like I still have so many it didn't really feel like I got rid of enough but you're right, it was a good effort

I have such a love of brushes too and just the idea of going through a full declutter is daunting. Kudos to you for doing this! Always like watching declutter content especially after the holiday shopping binge!
I would love a "how to take care of your brushes" video. All yours look so amazing - I spend very little on my brushes because I am very hard on them.
your a professional, so its expected you will have beautiful brushes , we cannot comment on that as this has been part of your working life , as for us we buy what we can afford without knowledge of the beauty world and so we are really happy with out buys , i really love watching your videos and the results of your labours and of course its the reason is , your tools of your trade produces the most beautiful looks , but we all admire you for your expertise,which we all know has taken years to provide us with your stunning looks sorry cannot express myself properly as i would wish but your a star of your profession lets put it that way ! ! thats why we love you Hailey well done for cutting back your brushes it must have been painful , my love liz xxxx

Such a great sort out. Been eyeing my real techniques as I don’t reach for them and no longer enjoy the feel of them. I love double ended brushes for travel, I slide them in my cosmetic case pocket.

Good job decluttering, although I kinda suspect any of the ones you decide to store in a drawer could go too. Maybe try the if I use them in the next year I'll keep them method.
Oh my goodness. I would love a Hakuhodo video.🤤 Edited to add: I love Rephr brushes. My husband bought me a set when they came out with a deal on their current collection. I use them daily. They’re so very nice and great quality.
You did well, 120 is still alot gone. And it's not like you don't use them. Some people collect shoes or purses, you just happen to collect brushes. 💜

Good job and remember that this is your job. Your not the normal consumer of makeup/ tools. You do this for a living. I have more office supplies that I could go through in a life time but it’s part of my job so it’s fine. Lol

hi Hailey , just being a normal , person i bought Nanshy , brush collection , after real techniques those i passed on to my family , but Nanshy are great for me , and £10 per brush were expensive for me and i have managed to get two complete sets now and i love them the only one i miss is a concealer brush , however i am looking , i truly enjoy them but really hard to clean them .
This was so fun to watch. You know so much about each of the different bristle fibers and shapes. I wish i could get to know my own brush collection this well. 💝
I use the brushes I don't like or which don't work anymore on me to paint my art and crafts, I used some just recently to make myself a Krampus themed bell, super happy! I am using it as one of the Christmas decorations! XD
i used my water colour brushes for years to do my eyeshadow before makeup brushes became as readily available as they are nowadays :D
@@siiri2052 ScratchyXD At least the ones I had for art! But still better than those godforsaken sponge applicators which kept disintegrating on me XDDDD
“Only 126” - that’s still like 25% of your collection! That’s a lot for one pass. To me the whole point of decluttering like this is to distill it down to the things you love and use, and you did that. Yes, you will probably revisit in the future, but don’t discount everything you did here-it was a lot!

🎄🎄🎄 Happy Christmas to me! 💀 So very sad to say that Crown shut down earlier in the year. I think they refunded everyone that had a pending purchase. So very sad. They had this one blender that was a MAC dupe that I had always wanted, and I missed out :( Really hoping this Rephr set I've got for Christmas has the dupe!

Admittedly… I can probably account for at least 100 views per video lol I love this collection series! You’ve inspired me to go through my collection and see what I have to play with instead of buying more shit I don’t need!
I honestly don't mind Urban Decay's eyeshadow brushes, and I even bought a limited edition set one year, but I do think they're easier to work with when I'm using a thinner eyeshadow base (like NARS Smudgeproof or UD Primer Potion) than when I'm using something thicker (like MAC Painterly Paint Pot). I also have some brushes from Real Techniques, Bellapiere, and Platinum (which is some random brand I found at Woolies, but they're pretty good, especially for the price). I would like to branch out and try other brands, though, and maybe try to find some that are a little heavier.
Year of the rat was when they stopped using chikuhodu, they did it in order to keep the price down (allegedly) 😞. Shows you know your brushes since you knew there was something off. I’ve been waiting for year of the snake and I’ll still probably get it but I’m sad it will likely not be chikuhodu.

Wait, Tarte limited edition brushes are soft? I have some that I got from their permanent range years ago (I dunno if you can still buy them) that are the scratchiest brushes ever. I have an elf brush that is the same shape and I much prefer it.
You did a good job, plus with brushes its easy to justify keeping them because they don't really go bad. Massive brush collections aren't so offensive. Maybe you could do a 'use it or lose it' brush challenge next year to figure out if there's anything else you could live without.
