Thanks for that. Brushes are definitely one of my makeup weaknesses. I own way more than I need and I also find it quite hard to let go of those I don't use, particularly the more expensive ones. Haven't decluttered any of my Zoeva brushes so far. The struggle is real ;)
Totally get it! Before this declutter I also struggled to get rid of things but it just started to get a bit out of hand. Then I tried three new to me brush brands in the past year and I just knew: I have to get rid of things.
Hi Maaike you got rid of a lot. I don’t have as many, but I do have quite a few brushes lol. I have a lot of real hair brushes from years ago that are in storage (bobbi brown and bare minerals mostly), as I like synthetic brushes for everyday - they are so much easier to clean. I’m someone who cleans my brushes a lot (due to rosacea and eczema) and I’ve accumulated them over time. They have to not be at all scratchy on my skin, or they’re immediately passed on. I gave a bunch to friends ages ago who didn’t have many brushes and were happy with them. Best wishes x
That was a savage declutter Maaike. Fun fact, the brushes from UD and Sigma that come with the palettes I actualy use when travelling with those palettes. The DoC ones I sent to one of your German subcribers who loves those small brushes.
My first eyeshadow brushes were from Wet n' Wild (super cheap, $1-$3) and I've repurchased them because they're perfect. Soft, blend amazingly, hold up for a long time. I love RT for face brushes and tried their eye brushes, but they always seem too dense, not dense enough, bristles are too long or too short. I was thinking of trying Eco Tools next but you're making me wonder about Sigma and BK Beauty! Thanks for all the helpful info!
Zoeva and Sigma have been my go to for years. Great quality at a reasonable price point. I had the same issue with Real Techniques eye brushes. They never fully did what I wanted them to do.
Hi, I love the brushes from the Polish company called Hakuro from the line called "J" - fantastic natural brushes, hand-made, not expensive,. Since I have them I got rid of all of expernsive and hyped brusesh I had. Really worth to buy. Greetings :)
I love my Sigma/ Real Techniques brushes and i found super affordable sponges on stylevana. I want to purchase in the future some from Rephr and BK beauty ! I don't like double ended ones either !
Those BK beauty brushes look very nice, I think I might invest in a few this year :) I recently decluttered my brushes also, kept mostly nabla, sigma and natasha denona... my catrice parrot brush survived the declutter 🤭🥰 Looking forward to the rest of your declutter videos. I like how you put things in ¨Storage¨, a good idea to organise your brushes and get better use out of your faves 👌
Thanks! I used to have all my brushes out but the ones I didn't use much would get dusty and then I didn't want to use them before I cleaned them. I actually decluttered enough lipsticks that I was able to have an empty space up on my vanity so I now have those extra brushes still out on my makeup desk but they are still free from dust and dirt.

Edit:Wow, you got rid of a lot. 👍🏻
Yup! It was just time. Anything I am not using can go. Wait till you see the other 5 episodes.
@@FloatinginDreams I look forward to watching!

I used to use them for travel as well but as you can see I have acquired plenty of travel brushes that I just prefer.
But sometimes I'm too lazy to pack extra stuff when going out after work

Hakuro is on my list to try. But I have certainly tried enough brushes for a little while to come.

Rephr and BK Beauty are both really good brands. They both do brushes for hooded eyes which has been a gamechanger.
