    Hi,I dont live in the perfect house or environment to study.I sleep in the living room where the tv is and my family stays up whole night watching tv and I cant study after school or late at night.The only time I can study is during luch time or really early in the morning and that is really hard since I am not used to that.This video inspired me and I hope I graduate with good grades.

      It used to be like that for me, so where do they sleep? How do you manage to sleep? Is there a library or somewhere else outside of the house you could study?

    • @constanzaoliveros7931
      @constanzaoliveros7931 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can go to a local library and spend 2 hours daily. I used to do it before working and it helped a lot.

    Thank you SO much, Ana! Your tip for "always being prepared" is exactly what I needed to hear. I have a 6 month old and will be studying online for my first semester back at uni doing Paramedicine. I was wondering how I could possibly plan out a study schedule when juggling a baby, so I will definitely use this tip and see how I go. Thank you!

  • @PayneMaximus
    @PayneMaximus 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I used to think that studying in chunks works well, but after I read the book from Cal Newport I told you about the other day, I realized that it's much more effective and efficient to study fully concentrated for at least a certain minimum of time. Being constantly distracted by studying in too small bits like a couple of pages hardly adds to your efficiency.
    I've also learned that in order to have the time and not be distracted by our busy lives, it's critical to choose the right time to do so. I've found out that early in the morning is possible the best time, since nobody will interrupt you (everybody is asleep at that time), although it also works similarly late at night (past midnight surely). This makes it much easier to go into "deep study".

    • @AnaMascara
      @AnaMascara  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear you. I am personally a binge study-er. I can study an entire day uninterrupted no problem. But a lot of people struggle with focusing for long periods of time and so the chunking or the pomodoro technique works really well for many. That is why I recommend it, because I know a lot of people would benefit from using such methods. And studying at night is my favorite thing to do particularly because everyone is asleep and I like the "sounds of the night" - I find it so relaxing. What do you study if you don't mind me asking, Mr. Libra? (since I don't know if Max is your name :-P

    • @PayneMaximus
      @PayneMaximus 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Pomodoro technique is very useful, but I don't recommend using periods of less than 30 mins for most tasks. Studying is definitely one of them, since you can't "go under" and concentrate fully in the blink of an eye.
      Studying at night works fine, it's true that without noise and being everyone asleep is very helpful, and not being interrupted is another plus.
      Max is fine! I'm an Electronics Engineer, and I will be finishing my Master's Degree next year. Being a Libra is the best of all.

    ALSO make flashcards and review them everyday when walking to class. Especially if you walk alone and it's a long walk, do this= good repetition . And if your classes are back to back like mine and I want to review right after, this is a good way to do so

    This is a Brilliant Video which is 100% Practical. Busy people always have the problem in finding time for studying for Exams. I learnt a lot from this Video and I adapted the things you explained to my life. Any big Study material now I can study. As you mentioned, I break it to smaller parts(Chapters) then the studying is very easy. This Video changed my life seriously and helped me to study with fun. Thank you so much for the Video. Please upload such worthy videos.

    I had burnout 2 times in a period of one year... it was horrible, but I pushed myself even more and finished all of my exams with work, relationship, workout... it was a insane experience and probably I would do the same. But... but... I was not capable to function for a week at least after the first burnout... I was anxious, tears, mental pain, apsolute brain chaos... the second I wasn't capable of doing nothing for week again, and I was out for a vacation of 3 weeks thank God... and after that it took me 2 months to recuperate... I payed my tuitions, university, apartment... but honestly I am not aware at what cost because it was a trade off... we will see

      Nooo thank YOU! Haha :D Your types of videos are already awesome so I don't know if I could suggest something better but book videos are always nice. To see what you've been reading or other books you think are good for students or just overall. And maybe a routine video? I don't know haha Because routines are very hard to plan and even harder to stick to it so if you have any advice about that I'd love to know! Once again, thank you so so much! Keep on shinning :D

    • @RTYWLive.Forever

      You simply have to make conscious time to do nothing- or something that you really enjoy. I take a few days (even if I barely have the time) so that I can get refocused and re-energized. Then, anxiety kicks in and I get back to work. The only way to prevent burnout, I've found is to plan at least 2-3 weeks ahead so you don't waste anytime and have to cram.

    College people and others, trust me, I did not know to say no during college, not to parties, but to my then boyfriend, and now I am ten years later still working on my bachelors. If I focused when I should I would have been done six years ago. SIX YEARS AGO! I lost six yrs of life (well actually five) for not prioritizing college for those three last years of college cause I didn't know to set boundaries and priorities. I will NEVER get those six yrs back! Don't be like me! Trust me you have your whole life to have fun! Life is so much easier when you have just your job responsibilities! I took one year off studying when I started working full time and it was amazing, I never felt better. I stopped biting my nails without even trying!
    Do. Not. Be. Like. Me. If someone doesn't understand you prioritizing college and you are scared of saying no to them - THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART!

    Hi Anna...thank you so much for sharing all the tips... you really encourage your followers with your positive attitude and smile. I would like to request you to please make a video on how to complete your targets of study when you are lagging behind... I mean suppose you have set targets for three months and because of some reason you have lost 15 days study time... then what to do to achieve the same day target with the past left topics.

    Hi this is so helpful. Never click the subscribe button this fast.
    Since i'm studying for my college entrance exam while being in school. And its so hard to balance especially with so many extracurricular activities and school stuff that I tend to set aside what's really important. Do you have any tips on how to be motivated and study consistently. My exam is in 1 month.... this is sooo sooo helpful... thankyou for this ❤

      Aww thank you so much for your support Aria. It means the world to me. I really know what you feel, I am currently studying for a really big exam and my daily stressors always get in my way of studying consistently. I did make a video on the topic and I truly hope it will help you out: th-cam.com/video/hf6E86ljg5A/w-d-xo.html ❤❤ Wishing you the best of luck! Remember, even a tiny bit of progress every day counts!

    Great video, thanks for the useful tips, have you ever thought about making video vlogs of your routine?

    • @AnaMascara
      @AnaMascara  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Javier. Yes I did think about that but I wasn't sure if people would be interested....maybe with a voice over it would be less boring? What do you recommend?

    • @sebastianesxxx
      @sebastianesxxx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ana Mascara in my case, I would suggest video vlogs with you speaking in person describing what you are doing , because I like spontaneous reactions I think they can be hilarious sometimes
