It's because of an odd curse everytime they reset or die to load a flower grows on their body and they cannot be removed which hurts them Which how Flowerfell sans becomes friendly to Frisk because they became blind because of the curse and he felt his own sins crawling on his back so he help them out in the long run but sadly they pass away which Flowerfell sans becomes a bit depressed because frisk could understand him the most, and what's he's been through
