I have to say I'm impressed with the new root crops, love the animations and new machines and wotnot. I did especially enjoy your squawk of glee when the boxes shifted on that one harvester, its great to see that it all works perfectly on other maps too!
It's going to be interesting to see what the modders come up with, I'm hoping a lot of the old school potato and sugarbeet equipment will get updates to work with the new crops among other things.
Underrated sound effects when the carrots were falling into the trailer. That was slick
Just be careful mr sealyp with the single row harvesters it looks like you are taking two rows but if you go back over the row you will still have a row of crop in the ground as it’s only taking the greenery off the top of the plants.

the boxes are lovely cute! hubby is utilizing a wagon/auger 😆 as it has larger capacity. But overall, this is super fun!!!!

I reckon the reason why we've had so few mods is because of this expansion and there will be a avalanche of mods this week and next week

The thing with ridging is that it applies one stage of fertiliser (without actually using fertiliser), so by doing that you 1. save money on fertiliser, and 2. it gives you a higher yield.
That is the news we need to hear what mods to get rid of to make this expansion work correctly !!

Thery are really cool. However I am disappointed with one aspect. That is a lack of thought by Ginats concerning the ai workers. They should have reprogrammed them to take into account the working of the machines and instead of the way they normally work, ie up a row and then trun and come back down the next thereby driving all over the crop, they should have had them work one row and then switch to the other side of the field to come back down so they don't drive over the crop in the field. For those that have crop destruction on these machines will be no use at all unless they do the driving themselves. Obviously courseplay will sort this out but I believe consoles don't have that so I look at this as a major issue. I am surprised as well that they didn't add potatos especially to the new planters.
Giants know/are aware that modders will tend to fix their problems they develop into this ancient game engine - at Giants; "sounds like its YOUR problem, consumer - shut up and buy"
I really wish there was some difference between these crops other than yield. It feels like they added one crop in three colors.
In reality you would have the rows with gaps to run beside the harvester and only have 3 or 4 rows then the gap for the tractor and trailer (depending on harvester width and your unloading belt length). I would love to see Garlic added to these as well as I am a garlic farmer and while I do all mine by hand after tilling and hilling I know people have used similar harvesters for garlic and onions, though if I do i will be using a version of a potato harvester probably.
Nice video Mrsealyp I have that dlc too but I'm definitely hope modder do for us some Vehicles who allow capacity for those new roots it's little bit annoying big machine like that and capacity us zero😅🙂

Note to self; when you do an actual test don’t add a front seed tank on the 3m because that is what causes it to seed past the ridges
The reason for the less use in seed for certain types is different sizes of seed
So you're not the only one that had the 3 m planter plant more further than the ridges.
That's not the only thing that's wrong there is no sound to when walking in snow and there's a missing snowmass over the great of the silo no matter what difficulty.
This makes me wonder if you could harvest parsnips and fill up two boxes then you go and start harvesting carrots will the machine fill up the other two boxes that are left with the four box machine.
Giants needs to fix the overlay planting but keep the seed usage as it is and they also need to fix the snow sound not being there and the snowmass not being around the great of the silo.

Mr sealy p. I so hope you do many videos like this when 25 comes out.
I suspect the front seed tanks are interfering with the width of the vegetable planter.
I have the season pass on Pc and PS5 and after trying the new equipment I can honestly say until there are decent harvesting mods I will give the new crops a miss also the vegetable boxes are ridiculously priced considering they aren’t reusable.
When you sell them you get double the money back though!
So... The original root crop gear work with the new root crop? Or is it a one trick pony like pumps and hoses?
You actually aren't doing two rows with the single row or three rows with the double row harvesters. That's one thing I am not crazy about, if you aren't careful you take the tops off the next row but the crop is stil in the ground. You have to be careful you don't miss anything.
I believe the point of the Hilling is it adds a fertilizer application. Not sure how that will work with Precision Farming, probably some preset amount.
It looks to me like the planters and harvesters need their plant/harvest zones adjusted, currently they are a bit wonky lol
The crates and use of them is very neat and I like it a lot. I think modders will have a field day with these new crops…ba dum tiss.
Probably like the grass rolling it wont work with PF. I havent tried it yet, but that is one of the first things I want to check out.

Awesome videos and great info, quick question I haven’t received the new premium expansion, I did purchase the two-year pass, and have all the other add-ons, but I haven’t received the premium expansion yet ,I go to the PS store, and there’s no place to buy it, and it’s not installed automatically, any words of advice on why it doesn’t download, I’m running PS five, not sure what’s going on
He did mention something about that at the start of the map tour I believe, I want to say it was showing up for him on PS5 in-game in one of the DLC tabs but not in the usual locations like PS store yet.

Watch mrsealyp new map tour, he puts up a couple of slides to show you where to download I tried it and it worked fine
When planting it makes more sense to me to use the 3 meter combo as it will take the same amount of time to complete the field. One pass with the 3 meter or two passes if you use the 6 meter. Plus less HP needed.
its about time and scale.
when your farm gets to the size where doing it all with 1 3m combo gets tedious.
avoid the tools trap.
don't buy another 3m combo to work alongside the original, to half the time.
sell combo and buy 2 tractors and 2 6m tools. run them together.
then you will half the time but also have 2 less tools to wash, maintain and store.
your original 1tractor and 2tools only increases by 1 tractor. by going bigger.
this is the bigger is always better trap.
Also a trap because it fails hard in alpine farming and many euro maps.
Chris S posted a video about an hour ago showing their Colossus harvester doing the Premium edition crops (on PC). I don't know if it works on consoles yet (still not available on my xbox)

@@paulgander1936 I don't know how to link their channel. You could probably search stuff like "Farming Simulator 22", "Chris S and Riley S modding", "Colossus harvester mod for FS22", or "Colossus harvester Premium edition".
My phone keeps autocorrecting Colossus to Colossal...
They will have to submit a update to the mod to get it to work on console, so it will be weeks to a month before we see an update as the wait time for the testing is 2 weeks at the moment
I'm just happy their current design works and they don't have to completely design a new machine from scratch.

Haha, well narry (nerry?) be warned the farmer who tries to harvest two rows at once. Just spent a very long time harvesting red beet on contract with the big boxer harvester and with all boxes delivered and the field empty contract sits at 90%. Looking at the menu map it shows some streaks here and there in field as ready to harvest [not harvested] I'm betting my last 10% is still burried in the ground.
a'i'-workers leave tons of ghost crop unharvested in the field. That's if they harvest at all and not just lift the harvester, race down half a lane and then stop the task with reason unknown.

Probably will need more testing, but I have heard that using the ridger, you won't get weeds (like a plowed field won't have weeds).
Is it me, or are these crops going to be slower to work with than potatoes and sugar beet.

I do like the new map - but sadly the new crops are not viable with the provided machinery. I persevered with a whole field of parsnips - coz I love parsnips - Courseplay managed to do c.25% of the field; if I had had crop destruction on I'd have been lucky to get 10%. Until we get usable harvesters, I'm afraid I'm plowing these new crops back in.
What map are you using for your test map? I dream of such a flat map

Dont know if you tried .. i checked and it wanted . I used the ridge makers to get free fertilizer.. then you can seed regular crop. I seeded wheat. It showed on the PDA map

We had carrots and onions, what was it FS17 or FS19? Could we get the machinery from those games to use for this game?
I know this comment is a bit old at this point but I have to help you understand carrots and onions were only available on modded maps and more often than not modders released (or included in the map) modded sugar beet and potato harvesters to harvest those crops we didn't have dedicated equipment to harvest them like what's included in the DLC this is what they use in real life but at this point we have gotten modded sugar beet and potato harvesters just like on previous games to harvest the new crops
I’ve planted heaps of carrots and they come in small tins. Each tin goes a long way.

It does not make sence to put any money in this dlc as long as you play singleplayer only. Because it is hardly useable at all in singleplayer!

I hope someone comes up with a harvester with integrated capacitiy of at least 50.000L. Because as long as your field isn't billard table flat the hired workers are absolutely useless for harvesting the new crops!!! I did various contracts on different fields with different borrowed equipment on Zielonka and result was the one and only useable harvester was the one with the 5.500L capacity - and only when used manual by myselft. As soon as I started a worker, with which harvester didn't make any difference, it was constantly 'helper xy is blocked by an obstacle until the artificial non-intelligence gave up and just stopped with reason unknown. Also I didn't get enough crop for forfilling the harvest contracts on field 82 and on field 71 (both carrots). The box handling is awful as you can't empty them out into a trailer, so you have to stack them manually on trailers which slip away as soon as you come close to them with the new 3pt-link fork lift thingy which to me speaks volume about Giants quality of programming! If this was a free mod pack it'll be cool but has lots of room for improvement, but as this is content you have to pay hard money for, I have to say this is a PRANK!!!
if you had seen the seeds you would have understood why such small seed containers are used, the seeds are very tiny
I've drilled carrots with a Stanhay precision drill and a couple of kilos of seed lasted for ages😅, and the farm i worked on had all sorts of top lifting harvesters over the years.
yes, you can go incredibly far with just a couple of kilos😅

@@kcINTIMIDATOR the ridger adds a fertilizer state. I have not tested this yet but farmer Klein does in one of his videos.

How much time do Giants think their player base has! New crops ACE, New equipment cool and most of them have a short width what the hell. I haven't got time to mess about.
Don’t buy production chains , if your like me & mr sealyp and think do some contracts , I had a carrot harvest contract for the preseverd food factory and I was dropping the harvest off , and was looking at info box in bottom corner and no carrots where going into the production chain ?

That does not sounds like Giants at all! They are known for their extensive testing and superior quality control. We’ve never had any broken mods or maps on FS22, and I love the fact that days after the console community complained on launch day about the camera collisions they immediately released that option.😂
Is no one talking g about the map doesn't work if you have modds I stalled ! Because my game won't work unless I take all mods out because their is to many to try an figure out !!
I am assuming you are on console, if on PC you could just watch the log file. I would try to think this through, what mods do you have that have something to do with root crops or maybe a production revamp type thing though I dont think you have production revamp on console. Try taking things out one at a time and if it still doesnt work put that mod back and try another. Or...just play without your mods or with limited mods for a week or so until the modders can catch up.
Are you using precision farming ? No than that would be the answer for seeding at those rates

@@rhaines100 Wrong attitude. Giants allows mods into their game. They can't control the conflicts that arise from that. Mods are awesome, they are really what makes this game. But every update this happens. Happens in every game that allows outside mods. It is a fact of life. If you want mods then you will have to deal with it. Or be miserable, your choice. No one really cares. The modders should catch up in a week or so and all will be good...until the next update...
I know I shouldn’t have to clean up my mods since we don’t know which mod or mods that is causing problems
@@rhaines100 Easier on PC, I can just watch the log when it loads and it tells me where it is hanging. Again, your choice what you do really. DLC isn't broken, it just doesn't like a mod or mods floating around in your system. Dump the mods and play or wait it out. Or go play something else...

What trailer on PS4 can haul carrots etc. from the premium update? Can someone please tell me?
Since those two patches we got within the last week all my savegames are broken on XBox. I know it´s the mods and I fixed it. But even within the same map, I could restore one savegame and still a different one on the same map wouldn´t load. I can start some maps without mods, but not others. Is any one else expiriencing similar problems?
FS22 on Xbox got totally smashed with this update, some rumors suggest a patch tomorrow the 15th of November… but honestly think it’ll take longer. Wierd how Giants’ world class testing and quality control missed that…

Try taking one row then try taking two see if you're double the yield
When you see your yield is not doubled go behind the machine look for that dark streak and put your pick up there to pick up the row you missed
