Could we have a "has been" series?? Kind of like in golf they have the seniors... Put them in 1990s cars and let them go wild.
Retired drivers, retro liveries and old cars? I'd absolutely go for that!

It would be brilliant _but..._ older racers' reaction times will have slowed and those cars are worth many millions. I don't see it happening unless copies of the cars can be created.

Good video idea! If you want to return to this idea at some point in the future, go for an - or any! - iconic race of the past and have a look at what happened to them.
Also, small bit of criticism: Saying that - just as an example - Nyck the Vries "returned to Formula E and has raced in WEC HyperCar as well a debuting in Super Formula" does not quite do it justice, I would love a bit more detail.
He's been retained in Formula E for '24/'25 with backmarker Mahindra, but races for Toyota Gazoo in the Hypercar class of WEC, a definite front runner team, where he has already gotten a race win and two podiums (2nd in Le Mans) out of 7 races and 3rd in the standings, as well as making his debut in Super Formula last race.
Again, I am nit-picky, but I feel like that extra bit of detail could turn this video from "good" to "great" :)
Consider this an edit: You actually go into more detail with, for example, Räikkönen; so its not as "bad" as I feared. And I need to learn to watch the whole damn thing first :)
not gonna lie i completely forgot that kvyat's last nascar race was in the xfinity series.. didn't expect to see that make the video 🤣
honestly tho i am glad to see other motorsports benefit from these guys who raced when f1 went mainstream.
seeing how the sport is today and how ricciardo & sargeant have had high-profile exits from it recently, i don't believe this trend is going to end anytime soon

This was a cool video concept. And the “Stoffel Waffle” was nice - he really did get robbed of any real chance in F1, and I’m glad to see he’s finding success elsewhere.

I completely forgot about Jack Aitken until you mentioned his name in the intros. I wonder why did he never get the chance to race full time in F1?
Honestly, so did I lol. No idea why he has been overlooked. Maybe just a case of being a good driver but never quite good enough to take someone else's seat? Or he didn't have the money to pay for one haha.
@@F1Word Jack Aitken lost a good chunk of time recovering from collarbone and vertebra fractures after losing a fight with Eau Rouge and 3 other cars in 2021.
@JontysCorner Ah, I'd totally forgotten about that. It looks like he's enjoying his racing in DTM and IMSA at the moment though.

Out of all of them id take kubica back in a competent car,i think hes still decent not like his prime for sure
