Thank you soooo much Anita I have been struggling with this for over an hour! Your instructions are clear and very easy to follow so glad I found your channel!
I’m learning to sew and working on matching patterns on the fabric. The walking foot has been really helpful to use because the fabric stays where want it. It didn’t come with my machine (not a Babylock), but was really worth the investment.
Very clear and concise explanation on the ways to use a walking foot. I use it on my quilts when I am putting the layers together. It works great! Thanks for the instruction.
Thank you so much . I searched for a video showing how to install a baby lock walking foot , mine didn't sew correctly it skipped stiches , your video was perfect i didn't remove the screw so I will do that crossing fingers it works !
I love my walking foot and that metal guide for even distances between lines for top quilting and yes I am a quilter and I wouldn't know what to do without my walking foot. Thank you Anita for your great video it is appreciated. I am so hooked on my walking foot LOLOL.
I have two walking feet. But one is designed like an invisible zipper presser foot, but has a hole to use a guide. My question is how does the zipper walking foot look like?
Thank you for your smile! Thank you for your excellent videos. I am a new Baby Lock owner and you have shown me so much. I am looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you!
@@AnitabyDesign I tried it yesterday and it is perfect for the fleece I'm working with.....did I tell you....I did my very first buttonhole yesterday 😉
I’m so grateful for each of your You Tube videos on using the Baby Lock Soprano! I got my new BL Soprano 2 days ago and started watching the first few videos just before that so had a good familiarity before I opened the box. I’m enjoying and appreciating each one. Love your clear, concise, detailed teaching style!!! Thank you so much, Anita! You’re such a blessing! 💕✝️🎉🙏
I’ve been quilting for awhile but this video has been very informative. Thanks for doing more videos on the Soprano. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas 🎄
I love 💘 your channel.. I've taken a 9yr break from sewing. And my fiance got me a Baby Lock Jubilant for our anniversary and I love this machine.. omg 😲 if I had this 15yrs ago ooh sewing would be easier..
So helpful!! I set mine up on my older Kenmore machine but I haven’t used it yet. I want to do quilting for small projects like bags and pillows. I definitely need a guide. Seeing that part fills in so many blanks for me. 😂😂 thanks Anita!!
Thanks so much for the great instructions. I just got my walking foot but was unsure how to install it. Your directions were very clear and concise - Thanks again!
Thank you for this tutorial. Quick question; do you have to keep the stitch length at a specific number when using the walking foot attachment? From the video it looks like the engagement dogs move back the same distance at the walking foot presser so that makes me wonder if you can adjust the stitch length when using the walking foot.
I have this machine and can’t seem to get the auto threader to work when using the walking foot. Does it work on your machine or does it have to always be thread manually? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for this video . I tried th walking foot for the first time yesterday and I was so disappointed . I got the open toe one as I could not find the closed one . I mainly need it for stretchy fabrics , satins and velvet either stretchy or non stretch . I am having hard time stitching straight with a normal presser foot so i thought I should try the walking foot but i don’t see much difference which really frustrates me . Am I doing something wrong ?
Hi Athey. If you're have trouble stitching a straight line with an all purpose foot, trying different feet won't solve the problem. Things to consider: 1. Are you using something as a focal point (seam lines on machine, magnetic attachment for seams, painter's tape)? You need to use something to align your fabric with as you sew to make sure you're sewing a straight line. 2. Are you looking at the needle while sewing? If you're focusing on the needle, you will never get a straight line. Establish a focal point and keep the right edge of your fabric running along that focal point as you sew. 3. Check the presser foot tension. If the tension on your presser foot is too heavy, it will pull the fabric to the left, making it hard to sew a straight line. If all of these are in order, then I suggest just practicing over and over again until you can sew straight.
@@AnitabyDesign thanks so much for this detailed answer. I do all of that but I will also check my presser foot’s tension. That might be a problem . I am self taught so sometimes I don’t know if I do things right ,But thanks for taking the time to give me those tips
Hi Deborah! I use a stabilizer when I sew the hems on knit garments, even when I use the walking foot. I like to use extra precaution to prevent wavy hems. I don't used stabilizer with the woven hems though.
Ok Thank you Anita, now I know the difficulty I was having! This helped and now I corrected my error, Thank you!I’m new to sewing, watching your videos really help. 😊
Thank you! Anita May I ask if there anyway you can do a video of the different types of stabilizers for different fabric or projects! So many types and tapes very confusing for a beginner like me and perhaps others. That would be great and helpful.😊
Hello Anita. Was wondering if I could do quilting stitches while using my walking foot. I made placemats which are three layers and want to try different stitches. Does the walking foot only work for straight stitches? Thanks for your videos. I watch quite a few of them prior to purchasing my baby lock soprano.

Hi Stacy! Oh yes indeed! I always use the zig zag stitch with my walking foot on knits.

I agree that a walking foot really helps to prevent fabric from stretching.
Great info. Can the walking foot stay attached to the machine or only when sewing the fabric you demonstrated?

Hi Matt! Yes, you can absolutely change the stitch length when using the walking foot. I do it all the time.
I have a hus walking foot can I use it on my Verve babylock machin
I'm not sure.

Yes, the auto threader doesn't work when thee walking foot is attached. I thread my needle by hand when using this foot.
Could I use a small zig zag using the walking foot for a finishing on a ponti knit?
Oh yes, of course.

I love your videos!!!
Hi Jennifer. No, it's too large.
Will the walking foot help with sewing in a straight line? I have been sewing for 2 months and my fabric shifts to the left.
Hi Natural Nicky. No, sewing a straight line is a skill you have to acquire through practice.
I noticed you didn’t do any back stitching you don’t have to back stitch with The walking foot
Yes, you should always backstitch where necessary.
Thank you🙏
You’re welcome 😊
