another very _interesting_ detail about frank bruno's boxing is 1. there is a boxer from swaziland (now eswatini) named *tribal trouble* 2. at least in some versions, every character has a little opening theme that plays before you box them 3. tribal trouble's intro theme is *THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT* great video, can't wait for part 2. seems we both had punchout fever
3:36 actually, 4 boxers are copied from punch out, the last fight, Peter perfect is supposed to be the challenger from super punch out, you can tell it’s him in other releases on other ports
There is one old Shockwave Flash game called Boxing Bonanza that I used to play on Miniclip when Flash games were still a thing lol (RIP flash). And that game screams Punch Out!! "Rip-off"/"Clone" in everything.

Actually, Nintendo had nothing to do with Power Punch II : originally, the game was developped by the Australian studio Beam Software (who also did Back to the Future on NES), and was called Mike Tyson's Intergalactic Power Punch. Why the II, though ? I don't know, maybe they tried to fool people into this being a Punch-Out sequel... Great video, BTW ! Hi from France ! ^^
look up vanillabeast retro knock out, it’s like if a spoof movie and punch out had a baby and then found out they were second cousins. the kid’s a bit scuffed, but it’s mostly fine
Man, I am heartbroken that Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting! GBA could not make it to the list. Absolute godsend of a GBA boxing game, but it is relatively first person, your gloves right before you. Great video though! Also! Did you wind up seeing those strange Ashita no Joe games?
