    Outside of frost, which is the absolute winner, I only really found use for purgewater for disabling certain enemy attacks and I used plasma quite a lot too but that was mostly cause my favorite bow in the game had it as an element and I found a lot of the most annoying enemies were weak to plasma. I wouldn't even bother building up any other elemental state

      Also I absolutely loved the idea of Berserk and tried to make it work on multiple occasions, but the mechanic was just simply not worked out well enough to be useful. Mostly the controlled machines would just run around not being useful and maybe hit another machines once during the state duration

      @chazmatazzgames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For sure, Berserk can definitely go sideways real quick, and sometimes machines just kind of stand around and don't really do anything at all. But when it works, it can be awesome. If you haven't already, you should give the Berserk Blast valor surge a try. One of my favorites and Berserk lasts longer with it, so more opportunities for the machines to damage either other 😁

    Shock also has an AOE when a machine dies, which is super effective against swarms of stingspawns.

    I'd like to add that plasma is great against humans as it seems to do pretty high base damage to them

    My opinion is that frost, shock and acid are the only elements worth using in the late game (especially with the new warrior bow from the burning shores) with frost being the clear number 1 and shock being the clear number 2 however, the ancestors return is the clear number 1 weapon so I end up using shock a lot more than frost (for acid I’ll often switch to the warrior bow and use instant freeze instead).

      I'd say if you're going for pure efficiency, you're definitely thinking about it the right way. But some of those other elements can be so much fun to use! Berserk is definitely worth giving a shot, especially in the burning shores where you're dealing with so many more groups of machines. And Plasma is for sure worth checking out anytime you're up against a Slightfang 🐍

      @@chazmatazzgames I love using the last argument against slitherfangs and he inevitably ends up frozen anyways however, I might end up using plasma when I do a new run on pc. Plus I like using the final chapter against slitherfangs (people really underestimate how much damage the final chapter does with all elite crit coils).

      @@Bigcountry4415compare final chapter with distant thunder - same coil config.
      I prefer DT, especially from a distance… ;-)

    • @Bigcountry4415
      @Bigcountry4415 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GeertDelmulle I prefer the final chapter for 3 reasons, 1 overriding freeze with shock wouldn’t be that bad, overriding it with drenched is and 2 I prefer the 100% crit chance you get with the final chapter than the 85% you get with the distant thunder and 3 damage over time is more consistent since machines like to get closer and are more likely to doge out of the way at that distance. I would prefer knockdown power to knockdown damage and while the 30% crit damage is good the final chapter is at 175% damage (the elite crit coils are bugged and give 25% instead of 15%) 100% of the time instead of the distant thunder’s 205% 85% of the time.

    Yeah fire status sucks. i still have fun with it for direct elemental impact damage (e.g fire spikes), blowing canisters or grounding regular dreadwings, but not for the burning effect in itself that is just paltry specially on UH (doesnt scale with difficulty at all as enemy HP gets beefed up). Shock and acid are my most used elements nowadays, so does i would say are favorites.. Ancestors Return helps alot with that. Frost is obviously the best but have been using it less because i find it too OP at the stage im at. Get more satisfaction of hitting weakpoints without frost, if that makes sense. doubling damage against skin/armor and completely negating armor is too much, i would rather reserve the big multiplier for frozen weakpoints and only partially negate armor like acid does currently.
    Plasma has a weak status effect but looks cool and can be decent, like fire, if applied for elemental impact damage against machines weak to plasma. plasma spikes above all. plasma state from high build-up of plasma arrows is good for one thing though and that is grounding stormbirds, especially to snap them out of the skydive spam they sometimes get stuck on.

      @chazmatazzgames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm kind of right there with you with Frost. I rarely use it anymore until I'm really trying to take out a machine in one or two hits. Shock is definitely the one I use most, especially with the Ancestor's Return. That's why we need Frost Shredders! 😆

    • @paristeta5483
      @paristeta5483 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah Frost Shredder would just be overpowered but there is an element, which i think would really fit well for the Shredder Mechanics without making it a DPS Monster: Purgewater. Biggest Problem with Purgewater are the oppertunity cost and what you get out of it, with Shredder this mainly falls aside, because you build it up while doing regular damage.@@chazmatazzgames

    I think combinations would be super cool like brittle adhesive to stun your enemy+freezing it or purge water +shock
    (Could leave tracks of shock or build up shock on near by enemys ) u know ? :)

    • @chazmatazzgames
      @chazmatazzgames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would absolutely love it if you could stack elements. I can certainly see where some combinations would end up getting a little too OP, so maybe they'd have to nerf them a bit, but in general the ability to stack elements would take the whole combat system to the next level. Adhesive + Frost or anything along with Berserk would be amazing. Maybe something they'll bring into H3!

    I personally really like purgewater just that fact that It disables machines elemental attacks this helps especially when you fight more apex machines later game and you unlock advanced purgewater arrows with the Land God bow which is a plus!

    • @chazmatazzgames
      @chazmatazzgames  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      totally agree! Purgewater can be super useful and is definitely one of the elements that people sleep on the most. Works really good with the Chain Burst valor surge too. You can just instantly shut down groups of machines. And yeah, the TGL is such a great hunter bow 💪

      @Spikklubba 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      especially for certain machines that carry purgewater. Apex slitherfangs for example, blow their purgewater sac, or detonate a purgewater canister when its knocked down, making it easy to shock with my shock shredder. similar with an apex slaugtherspines purgewaer sacs, for a little while i dont have to worry about its OHKO plasma attack

    Don't be surprised when maybe frost will be nerfed in next game

    Frost is overpowered and needs to be nerfed. Long Stagger on Application, Nullifies Armors Damage reduction to the core and provides big bonus impact damage and some damage bonus to Explosive. It also lasts for a nice long time...and is plenty available on the strongest weapons.
    Acid though, is complicated but the most interessting of the other elements:
    1. It does some Damage over Time to Machine Core Health.
    2. Does some Damage over Time (3,5 sec intervalls) Health Damage to Armor Plates ((no tear damage).
    3. It increase the Damage done to the Machine Core Health (the Heallth bar which makes the machine dead when gone).
    4. It REDUCES the damage (namly Impact Damage) to the Armor Pates.
    5. It doubles the Weapon Category Base Crit Chance.
    It also clearly shows the dangers of working in the netherlands, you could get high at work and produce that.
    To 1. Feels like a participation trophy, so you see it does something.
    To 2. I LOVE that idea, it´s just..(For Heavy Machines).about 3,3 Damage per Seconds or 11 to 12 Health Damage to 75% of the Remaining Armor Plates. An Heavy Armor Plate besides Fire Teddy, Slaughty Spiney, and leapy Froggy have 286 Health (and another 286 Tear). On Normal. With an Apex you ad 50%. Very Hard? Another times 82%. ..on the flip side, it ticks for 800! on Human Armor, so besides some UH and Heavy/bosses in VH, 1 tick of Acid Armor Damage = 1 Armor Part gone, and you get 4 o 5 ticks per application. Helmet is always last though. Acid is fun on Erik on the Elevator Fight, for Armor, has only a Helmet and is not weak but also not strong vs Acid. Apply it once, let it run it´s course, then apply it once again, the first tick happens on application, which already destroyes his helmet, so the head is now vulnarble to headshot...oh and with that, i mean on Ultra Hard.
    3. Nice, but coulld still be more of a nullifying effect instead of reduce especialy when
    4. Damage to the Armor Plate is reduced from Impact Damage. It make sense logically, still hate it.
    5. Is very nice, but guerilla most gotten scared of critical hit just before the release, it is stated it doubles all crit chances, still could be just a plain +15% Crit Damage (highest crit chance in the weapon category).
    I think you sold it short for lower level, it´s actually very good there too: It´s more abundand and easier to apply then frost at the early stages of the game. Armor hit does not matter much, so you can less accurate weapon or be less accurate (because of being new) not effecting you as much and finally you can reach some decent (as in notable) crit chances even with green Crit Chance Coils and crit damage also works with Tear.
    So i have written enough just a ittle (un)fun facts about the red headed (sorry Aloy) stepchild called Fire Element: The Base damage in HZD and HFW are actually the same! Yep it´s true, looked in up in the HZD files... the difference is, it scales with Fire elemental Coils in HZD, but no scaling in HFW.
