I’ve been doing my channel for 10 1/2 years. I got to your point about 8 years in. I had done a video every Friday. Many times rushed. I didn’t really announce a slowdown but I backed off. The algorithm seemed to penalize me a bit but that’s the TH-cam life. Glad you took a break for your health. See you in February.

Those of us of a certain age will always watch the vids of both you and Michael though - so there's that :) Retention has gotta calm the nerves a bit - click the bell folks! Maybe "we" were all conditioned to like content like both of yours through those old computer shows on PBS and having suffered dipswitches as a way of life. We don't have cycles for the constant goofy stuff of other channels. Young folks like AuroraTech give me hope for the future. If I had a wish for you, it would be that you got money for every CHEP cube printed hehe.

Your channel is the gold standard of what I expect from a good quality technical TH-cam channel. You give in-depth and uncompromised information and advice. In addition, I truly appreciate that it's always about the content and doesn't add the unneeded fluff and flare. Anytime a video comes out, It feels more like I'm sitting down with a good friend to talk about interesting topics then it does with other channels where I feel like I'm being sold something. I'm glad you're going to give yourself the time needed to make the channel work for you and what you need it to be in your vision. We're all here because we like what you're doing and how you do it so never change. I'm glad you're going to get some much needed rest and relaxation.

I agree with every word of this and couldn't have written it better myself. No other channel on YT has this level of integrity and he absolutely should be taking breaks when he wants/needs to and setting his own pace. He's well and truly earned that right.

I have always looked forward to your videos and they have often helped me in the past. If you happen to do a topic I'm not interested in I just move on, just because I'm not interested doesn't mean someone else isn't.
Like you I have a lot of unfinished projects. I have a new SV08 still in the box, I ordered it under the launch promotional pricing in May. I had major spinal surgery in June and spent a lot of the rest of the year in rehab. I live alone now and do all my own household tasks so that in combination with the rehab and such means the printer is still in the box. I have three other printers and use them frequently. I'm 70 but figured I wasn't too old to learn Klipper!
You definitely deserve a vacation! Have a great one and I'll be looking for you on the other side!

I’ve just launched my TH-cam channel (last year but I’m taking my time with it) and I’m always amazed at the dedication and perseverance of long-time TH-camrs such as yourself. I came across your channel early in my 3D printing journey and I’ve loved all the things you’ve pointed out here. No nonsense, get-to-the-point videos that are informative and trustworthy.
I hope your break is amazing. I’ve had burn out before and it can take a long time to recover if you don’t catch it early. I’m glad you’re taking time to catch your breath and refocus.
I’m currently taking the rest of my break to get my office/workshop in order. And my list is similarly long with project ideas. But I’ve long believed that the state of my office reflects the state of my mind. And it’s a mess. 😩 Here’s to starting fresh in the new year!

Hey Michael, I just wanted to share that I only started watching you about a year ago when I got my first 3D printer. I could immediately tell that you are a wealth of information and had outstanding values. I've gone through many of your playlists like OnShape and you taught me how to make all sorts of items around the house. I haven't missed any of your videos since I started watching, even if the video isn't for me it's clear that if you think it's valuable enough to make a video on it's going to be interesting and I'm going to learn something. Thanks for all of your work, and enjoy your break!

It's the kind of thing that I would have shown in my classroom if I was still a teacher. I've learned so much from your channel. I've been passively interested in fdm printing for a few years but I only had a resin printer for my table top miniatures, but I got my first fdm printer about a month ago and I have watched so much content to learn about it and yours is always one of my favorite channels to learn from. I do want to say as someone who has asked about the TTR channel, the content excites me and I enjoy seeing it, but I personally never have an expectation for you to be doing that too.
I love that you're someone who has an interest in formula racing, it often gives me a smile to see what team or driver shirts you've worn during a video in relation to the current events in F1 and I remember having a good laugh when your question was featured on an episode of The Race technical podcast. I think its a lot of fun to get to see you engage in something you have a passion for as a hobby and to me the TTR videos are a bonus where we as the viewers get to see you engaging in your own hobbies. The idea of finally getting to see you eventually have a track day with this car you've been working on for over a year now is a lot of fun, but I really hope that channel and its content doesn't ever actually impinge on your enjoyment of that hobby.

I have always appreciated your channel and content and bringing the forefront of the reprap community. You were my go-to for easy to follow guides and suggestions and just staying in touch with the community. You kept the reprap spirit alive, I'm afraid it's an end of an era but cheers to you and enjoy what you love!

Thank you for your videos, i joined to this hobby watching ur videos about Ender 3 and all others. Watched even when it didn't concern what I needed, but I knew I would learn something new because you are able to teach other people and you are in good. No Ads - love it! You are a good person, I wish channels like yours would follow suit and provide such good materials as yours. Relax and happy break! THANK YOU!

Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy. Thank you, Michael, for your commitment to the community first and foremost.
Also, waiting until a project is ready to show instead of forcing yourself to a 1-week schedule will definitely be better for everyone.
    Enjoy your holiday break.

Long time watcher, first time commenter - I started 3D printing just over 3 years ago, learning my craft on an FLSUN QQ-S Pro (currently rocking a Creality K1 Max) and your website "Teaching Tech 3D Printer Calibration" was an absolute life saver for me in those early times. Your other videos (too many to mention) such as the OnShape tutorials for an example were also great for me. Been a fan of your work for these past 3 years and never once found you to be a shill for anything - always found you to be completely open and honest with everything you have done. Really can't understand the hate as you are one of the rare ones who truley embrace the whole 3D printing community and what it's all about. Enjoy the break - you have certainly earned it, and looking forward to everything you release in the future :)

I've been watching for years and still enjoy it. If possible, I would like to see an update mid next year (although likely this time next year) on how the work/ life/ projects balance is going. Been attempting to work on that myself. Hard part for me is the energy levels

Take heart in knowing that most of us 'get it'. I'm very new to designing and 3D printing and have landed on your channel multiple times when searching for a clue about how to do something. I'm still trying to figure out which channels I actually need to subscribe to without overdoing it and being buried in too many channels. You've won me over with your dedication and explanation of your self-imposed standards for maintaining an unbiased view of products and suppliers. I have just subscribed. I look forward to going back and using your previous videos to keep learning, and look forward to your future videos. Thanks, and enjoy your sabbatical!
