I had the great pleasure of connecting with these guys a few times, between 1980 and 1985. I was in a band called the "Lonestar Cattle Company" that played the same circuit as "C-Weed" at that time, including the Edmonton "Cook County Saloon" that still exists today. They were a great bunch of guys, with a wonderful self deprecating sense of humor. I remember the first time we invited them for a visit into our Courier 96. The first words out of C-Weeds mouth were, "All the Indians move to the back of the bus"! I knew right then that I was going to like him and his band. We shared the bill with them at a short lived music festival called "The Foggy Creek Call of the Wild Mountain Music Festival". Our band was hanging out with them pre-show, and they brought out a bunch of green tea, and cigarette papers and starting rolling "joints" to throw out to the crowd during their set. Too funny, given their name. Everytime I was lucky enough to catch them playing somewhere they amazed me how they continued to develop, and refine their musical skills, both as individual players, and as a band. They were hard workers. Just my 2 cents.
Good times, good memories. CWeeds, In Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg! Spent alot of money and drank alot of beer. The highlight of living in all 3 cities.
