Hoof trimming!! Yeah... LOL. Used to be probably a dozen hoof trimmers around here... Between less dairies and old age, there's only a couple left in the whole state 😪 We used to have one come every couple of years, but not anymore. I'm pretty good at making them walk right again, but I don't have a tilt table, just put them in the chute and nibble and chisel... Sometimes they'll let me pick their hooves up like a horse... If they won't let me pick a hoof up and it really needs some work on the bottom, we tie it up.. Always funny to see them walk after a trimming... LOL!!! They figure it out in a few minutes 😎 Kooppertox is your friend!!!!

You gotta take care of your cattles feet. They are just like human's. I wear redwing work boots to keep my feet feeling good . Nice video many farms don't trim the hooves of their cattle. We do our own the same way he does with a milwaukee m18 grinder. My grandfather learned how to from his father by hand back in Mexico my great grandfather was a rancher he took great care for his cattle it's a pride thing for us farmer's.

Nephew has a stall very similar to that. Looks like a cow comfort stall, built in baraboo wi. He makes serious money but works in the heat and freezing cold in manure every day. He has tools to sharpen that cutting wheel. Sander/ grinders make heat in the hood (very bad).
I like the unit your trimmer uses compared to the one that lays the cow on its side. I watch GPHoof, a guy in Scotland and his is similar to this one. Great videos....thanks for posting
That chute set up is slicker 'n owl shit when those cows are restrained and those feet immobilized like that and waist level to boot ,great for the cows and operater , nobody is stressed or injured ! Those cows constantly on concrete need lots of attention and you're seeing to it , nicest cow in the world is bad for her and you if she is lame !! Thanks for the look at this less than glamorous but essential job , bet he's never had to look for work ! Mike Rowe might wanna tag along there ! Those cows are certainly fat and slick , are they none pedigreed Holsteins ?

I know it’s tough in a work environment but a basic interview with the person might be cool too for content. “What’s the basic idea of shaving down a hoof” if the person doesn’t mind that is. No that was the concrete man, we made a groover while the cement is still wet to put grooves in before it cures, but if you need other spots done he has a big machine that grinds groves in

Seems like this guy's hoof trimming apparatus doesn't stress the cows as much as those rigs that flip the cows over on their sides.

6-8 weeks, different ones every time and that way the whole herd gets it done in a year
