    Top video man - super helpful! My most popular vid on my channel is about me trying to work out why my 94 MJ Triton has a high idle and people keep asking me if I have worked it out yet... i think I'm closer to understanding where some potential issues might be now - cheers. I was considering going the weber route and felt like that would be cheating and the people that want answers from my video would feel ripped off 😬. Don't be surprised if I hit you up with an email - cheers again.

    Your video was a huge help. there are times in the video that you state that some of the settings of adjustable screws were close enough to get it running. Do you have a video that shows how to do the final adjustments on the carb once it's on the vehicle

    Great informative video.
    I am in the UK and have recently purchased 1978 sigma with Aston 2000 engine. The carburetor is similar to the one in the video but just be different model.
    I have a question.
    The car is running lean on mid range, I have striped and rebuilt with repair kit and the lean on mid range is still there.
    My carburetor only has one bypass screw the blunt one. Will adjusting this change the mixture at mid range that I require?

    Your video is awesome, thank you! My 1992 L300 2.0l van has Mikuni 32 - 35 DIDTA - 387. Was running like clockwork then suddenly idle was at 1500rpm. Has done 134,000 km. does it need rebuild, or repair. I would like to send it to you. I don't have confidence in the carb repair guys locally. Please let me know thanks Steve

    the Mikuni 32-35DIDTA has 5 mounting bolts to attach to the manifold ...
    4 hexagon head bolts are easy to locate around the double barrels opening, in a rectangle configuration, ...
    the 5th is somewhere, can you help locate it ?

      I have never seen a fifth. Not on any Australian delivery vehicles, nor any Mikuni-Solex I've encountered on a Chrysler/Mitsubishi.

      @@thehilltopworkshop more related to the places than the cars themselves ... California is the first state in the world tmk to mandate emissions reductions & inspections ...in the 70s ...Canada followed .... Dodge, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Plymouth used the Mikuni 32-35DIDTA extensively in their cars/trucks somewhere in the 80s ...it has an extra section to the front right with the EGR valve and a 5th mounting nut on a stud mounted on the intake manifold

    Thanks for sharing a bunch of valuable information. Can anyone please explain the function and working of the power valve?

    • @thehilltopworkshop
      @thehilltopworkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A power valve provides a lean cruise condition while it is closed, then when you accelerate, the manifold vacuum drops and the valve opens, allowing a little more fuel to the main circuit. Hope this helps. 👍

    • @pulikuthjavid

      @@thehilltopworkshop To best of my understanding, in a solex mikuni carburettor, we have a slow or idle circuit, a primary circuit, a secondary circuit, a pilot circuit and an acceleration circuit. Of these, idle circuit and slow speed circuit are driven by engine vacuum transmitted through idle port and bye pass port respectively. And when we accelerate, the primary circuit butterfly gets opened and simultaneously actuates the acceleration pump. So the initial demand is provided through the acceleration pump circuit then maintained through the primary jet leading to the bleed pipe and to the primary venturi. And when the speed increases further, the decompression chamber actuates the secondary butterfly, and draws fuel through the pilot jet and enters the secondary side through the bye pass port and later maintained through the secondary bleed tube through the secondary main jet. So my question is in which circuit the power valve plays a role?

    • @thehilltopworkshop
      @thehilltopworkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pulikuthjavid It enriches the main circuit. A similar effect to enlarging the main jet temporarily.
