Wires on pickup coil should be soft & flexible like OEM. Cheap Dizzy's have standard non flexible wires which aren't meant to flex & crack after a few months.

Good vid.feel a bit better about my purchase. Putting one in a mild 308 and was sus on the quality but have heard good things about them so given it a go.

I have to say that this one just works. Starts beautifully. Plenty of wallop from the coil, and the curve is consistent and reliable.
The only thing I've had to do is cut the amount of vac advance back, but more often than not, that's different from engine to engine. 👍

Good on you mate, Glad I found you. I saw these online, so I appreciate your review, as i was wondering about the quality too!....Hopefully not made in China! Now I just wonder about that old school canister coil, I might look at buying an E coil, but I'm not sure if that's going to be compatible for the RAE distributor/Bosch module?.. whats your advice on coil upgrades to suit?

Do you know where you can get replacement caps, rotor etc. for these distributors? My one for my HZ Kingswood seems to be a bit taller than the one that came off the old points distributor.

It should just be a standard Bosch unit to suit the electronic distributor, but that said, I've yet to have to replace one.
I'm pretty sure the points rotors aren't interchangeable.

@@thehilltopworkshop If you get a chance, maybe compare your cap to the original points cap and see if they are similar.

@@LiamsGotThis Any other time I would, but this replaced a Mallory dual point.

So how did it go? I am looking at one of the same brand for my HZ Holden Kingswood with a 202 engine. Was it easy to install? Work right off the bat? Still going?

Yeah, still going strong. I've still got to take a few degrees off the vac advance, but that's more down to the individual engine.
No complaints, and very happy. 👍

@@thehilltopworkshop Awesome! What is that red wire/connector for and where does it go? I haven't pulled my old points distributor out yet, but just looking in the engine bay- can't see it on the old one.
