I work for Michelin. Its crazy how much its to make a tires. I love it. Its hard work but it is so much fun watching from the start to the end walking down the process of it.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@HowItsManufacturedno problem. I hope that u have a great day
Same to you :)@@parkey6krinock66
Hope you get a purchase discount. I had to settle for Firestone because the Michelins were $400+ more for a set of 4.
haven't seen a human do one thing in this video, what is hard?
I worked for 4 years in the early 70's in Michelin factories making and inspecting D20 tyres on manual machines which was hard work.
Thank you for sharing your story. Have things in the factories changed a lot since those days?
This is why I never buy cheap tires. They're too important to leave them to companies that you never heard of.
Exactly. It can be end up being a life or death decision as well.
Great videography, technically speaking. Pretty much useless for a technically-inclined lay person who might want to see how tires are actually made.
Really learned a lot. Random pictures in the plant. Wtf
Why not some explanation what we are seeing
10:15
Most likely the date stamp on which the tire was made. For example, a tire stamped 3723 would indicate that tire was manufactured the 37th week of the year 2023, same for one stamped 4413, manufactured the 44th week of the 2013.
This is correct.
For me the best Tyres ever
Yeah they really are!
I’ve ought Michelin tires for 50 yrs no need to switch good tread ware no flats just plane good tires
Hi😁📈
There are 2 Michelin Tire factories in South Carolina. Neither of them is automated. 1 of the factories is over 50 years old and when you are on the factory floor it really shows its age. Some machines are older than the people using them.
Looks like minerva tires
Wow all that machinery, robots and tech and unique materials no wonder the average size 20 inch car tires are $1,000 a set... 😐😑
Mine were $2200! It’s crazy expensive for winter tires
Only Michelin ❤❤
Yes!
They way normal tyres are made is filmed really well, the way large tyres are made is filmed really bad (too long courts, solemnly of small details of machinery without oversight, and without any views of the actual process when it is taking place)!
Thanks for your feedback. We will take that into consideration for our next videos.
*cuts.
About the making of large tyres, I guess what I meant to say was that I was missing any overview
Thank God, I'm not the only one feel confused by those step-by-step visual.
The narrator sounds sophisticated, but seems doesn't in line with the whole process/ description
We always buy Michelin tires never have had even a flat tire
Michelin is #1. Hankook #2.
Agree. Currently running Michelin X-Ice Snow tires on my car
Technically not . The biggest tyre manufacturer in the world by volume is........ Lego . 😁
Car tyre manufacturers
Sure is
These new tires must be recycled rubber.
Loji americanos
I think this channel is being trolled. So many goofy, harsh, and confusing comments.
I wont own anything but a Goodyear or Michelin tire. Little more $$ but it's worth it. I've own cheaper tires, loud! N not that great.
Yeah exactly. You end up spending more on cheaper tires in the long run, plus the added risk.
Why not make smooth roads?
That precisely what we DO. Even so you need rubber tyres for grip (in order not to start sliding left or right and in order not to keep sliding forward in bends in the road or when applying the brakes) and for shock absorption.
👍👍👍👍🇦🇺
To be honest I think Michelin tires aren’t worth triple the money if they aren’t reliable
I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER MICHELIN TIRE AGAIN !!!!!!!!
Why not?
@@jubelet They would not honor the warranty !!!
@@RNP69I don't blame you...these companies are getting really corrupt nowadays lol
@@RNP69u want me to let hr know? Cuz I can do that
@RNP69 Well, that really depends on why it was sent back for warranty. Why was it sent back for a warranty claim?
With global natural resource issues at the forefront, it’s a wonder that i.c.e. motor sports haven’t been outlawed yet. This drifting is a ridiculous waste.
Yep!
Drifting should definitely shift over to Electric. More torque and Instant torque from electric engines is really helpful for drifting.
I would think electric cars would be a little too heavy for drifting.
Ken Block used an Electric Audi in one of his last drifting videos before he passed away@@rickpowers4356
@@HowItsManufacturedthe significant increase in weight of all electric cars will also significantly increase tread wear. Battery powered vehicles are not the solution
