I’m slowly phasing out all my clothes to 100% cotton/silk clothing and I just feel better when I’m wearing all cotton. Thanks for the information!

Depending on where you live, consider adding linen, lyocell, and hemp! Look into them they have great characteristics and from an environmental standpoint they are pretty good.
From your comment I guess you don't live anywhere where you would need wool, but also a personal favorite of mine.
I like cotton but the weather where I live makes it so I need some others in the mix 😅

Great information! Thank you! Let's also not forget that polyester is a known carcinogen or cancer causing. The phthalates in these types of shirts are released into the water during washing as was brought out but they are also released into the air and onto the skin when worn. The skin then soaks up these cancer causing chemicals or you breathe them in through the air! Thanks!

Yeah, and? I was only interested in how polyester was made. More of it is being used than ever before, so let's also not forget that all the "sky is falling" virtue signaling in the world isn't gonna change that. We need clothes. I'm just curious how they're made. We're all still here. The sun keeps rising. The world keeps turning, even with polyester "out there". Just relax. It'll be alright.

@@coconut6839 This material has been used for almost 100 years. It's nothing new. Every single thing we use, own, wear, etc can be deemed "bad" in some way, shape or form. The cell phones were probably all using to post these comments with produce toxic byproducts and contain all kinds of "bad" stuff. Short of going back to log cabins, there is no way to avoid it. Even then, somebody would be whining that cutting down trees to build shelter was "bad". We all just need to live our lives in the world as it is and stop worrying ourselves into lactose intolerance. Just get dressed and don't worry. 😂

I am starting out a clothing brand and am wanting it to be eco-friendly for sure. I have looked into this idea of using plastics to produce my products. Do you have any recommendations of what would be best to use? or can you point me in a direction of anything that would relate to my idea please? :) Cheers

The issue i have is that while Polyester makes for a cheaper option it's also very abundant. It is not a bad material if you remove the ecological aspects. But the issue i have is that it can be hard to find good clothes made out of cotton or wool that is not super expensive. It's just kind of hard to find modern clothes made today that are made 100% of natural materials. Either they are a mix out of Polyester and cotton or they are made 100% of polyester.

The worst possible material you could use on your body, a cheap man made fibre that is easy to use for printing logos on, designers got lazy and started using this silly material because it’s easy to maintain even though it looks silly. Polyester is not fit for a rag.
