    Dude isn't getting traded. He has the surgery he wants right before training camp, sits out the year, Buffalo gets next to nothing for him next off season. Not that I think Buffalo wants to do this, but their history of incompetence will prove this out.

    The market currently isn't where Buffalo management wants it to be in this trade. At this point would it make more sense for them to just risk it, let Eichel get the surgery, and be like "you'll have to play here for a couple months." I'm sure Jack playing in Buffalo isn't an option either side wants right now, but it may be the only way to show the rest of the league they'll still be getting the same player Jack Eichel has been. It's a risk, but it may be the only way for Buffalo to get his value anywhere close to what they want to see.

    I kind of disagree with the statement that - "we trade you a bunch of guys but you get the superstar and the star is the guy you miss." • @jasoncrandall73
    @jasoncrandall73 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The Wild with their upcoming dead cap hits were never in the Eichel trade to begin with (only if Buffalo retained 1/3 or more which would never happen without a extra sweetener).
    Eichel with be sent out West but Eichel needs to report to training camp.
    It’s not about winning a trade with the Eichel situation it is about Buffalo wanting assets that fit into the current plan (prospects & draft picks). The team is not on fire they finished just below .500 hockey after their losing streak was snapped with their 5th & 6th string goalies playing. Granato had the younger players playing better & as a team. Take the NYR who said no to their top 6 prospects being included but offered Strome & a few draft picks? Rightfully so the Sabres passed on that & if you were going to take a reduced offer for Eichel then you send him out west.

      I really think the reason why he wouldn’t want to do that is because if I’m Jack Eichel I wouldn’t be close to 100% sure that I’m getting another $10,000,000+ deal once this whole thing is over. He doesn’t really even know for a *fact* that he will be OK to play again. @@hockeyb4886 Yeah. He's locked up at 10mil per for the next 5 years. Even if he really wants that surgery, is it worth walking away from that kind of guaranteed money? He also gets a $10 million signing bonus after this next season. So if Jack waits it out this year in Buffalo he'll get $20 million to maybe not play hockey, and then his no-trade clause kicks in so he gets a say where he gets traded. @@OB197 his NMC means nothing cause you still don't have to trade him unless you get what you want from a team. If Eichel really wants out, he won't say no to any trade outta here. NMC is useless to him

      @@SabresGuy87 a NMC isn’t really useless because he could say “No I will only accept a trade to blank team”, he could easily not get the surgery he wants or Buffalo wants and just stay out hurt till his NMC and he pick where he goes, then Buffalo surely will get less assets then they could now. It happened with Rick Nash in CBJ if I remember correctly, only difference is slight less term and no injury concerns and CBJ still got a weaker return for waiting it out

    Trade Marner and a third line or fourth line center and maybe a first round pick. Then move Tavares down to the third line and put Eichel as the second line center. We need to trade the piglet Marner!

      So you want to pay a guy 11 million a year to play on your 3rd line? The only way the leafs should be in on Eichel is if they can trade Tavares and some change for him. You don't trade a a winger that was top five in scoring for another C when you already have two top line C.

    The pegula family is now wanting a brand new bills stadium funded by the taxpayers 100 percent. Pie in the sky ask as they promote jack eichel to be something that he has not achieved yet. He is way overrated and they paid way too much just like skinner. Bad deal after bad deal. They will end up driving Jack's value down and be forced to take less a lot less. Who wants to pay a player 10 million to sit in the press box ? Kim pegula.

      Yeah, that will give the Leafs roster balance and flexibility. Right, we complain that Marner is making $10M+ and we want to replace him with another $10M+ player with a possible career altering or ending injury. The proper way to trade Marner is to receive assets (plural) in return, not another $10M player. Marner is an overpaid, underachieving player and his salary is killing this team's cap. Eichel does NOT solve that problem.

      @@TheGiua1973 you’re right, if Toronto trades Marner they have to receive multiple assets in return. Maybe a solid defenseman and a winger + picks or something like that

    Go Sabres January 2022 Jack eichel to Toronto auston Matthews or Jack eichel Edmonton for Connor McDavid because players probably want out of their situation because they want to win a championship this is coming from a Buffalo Sabres fan
