I think you're going to like the paracord on the platform for quieting things down. I've been running paracord since 2015 and love it as it never needs to be replaced and it serves as a small toe kick on the edge of the platform, like a reminder that I'm near the edge if I'm not looking down.
Thanks for another great comparison video. I’m running my 3 novix sticks the same way on my 1.0 and 2.0. Sweet Simple and easy indeed! Will be keeping an eye out for your video after some hunts. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas!
Sure is a feature packed stand. I'm really liking it. Have hung it a dozen times on all different trees. But not hunted out of it yet. Will next week. Right now I'm in the mood for walking down hogs.
If you swap out the electrical tape for rubber coat wire to prevent contact noise, you’ll find it lasts forever and silent. Two or three wraps on specific points of contact is golden.
Great review! I have had all of them and the .5 works best for me. The 18in seat is perfect for me and light weight. The best thing about LWCG is so many options. Thanks Merry Christmas!!!
In my opinion the lw assault is still the most comfortable seat for my butt. This pad on the lwcg 1.0 is fantastic though and I'm very happy with it. Might even get the bigger seat for it to see if it combined with the lwcg pad can out do the comfort of my assault
Great video Jason, I think you will really enjoy the 1.0! I run my .75 a lot, but long sets I go back to the Assault 2 as I pack them almost exactly the same. Thanks for the 1st review, looking for to the next one!
Nice to see an in depth review on the biggest names of mobile hunting. I understand why you went with 1.0 stand, suits your hunting style better and your familar to the platform layout from the Assault model. I prefer my Beast platform better cos it suits my hunting style and shooting form better, I have zero complaints about it. This is why we have options, Thanks for the content!
That beast stand is amazing and I had zero complaints about it. U til I started wearing snake boots all the time and wanted more room on the platform. But I will never nock the beast stand it's so light and the long plaftrom is excellent. This stand is more my needs with the wider platform and actually has more room between the cables than my assault and is 2 pounds lighter. There are so many quality stands on the market today. This 1.0 is an amazing stand so far. I'm very happy to have it
@@SamkoTradBow Awesome to hear it, I do like that LWC went ahead and added the machined traction on the platform for additional safety, I haven't had an issue yet with the Beast but its nice that LWC went ahead and added that. I've been watching a bit of your content and appreciate your information on traditional archery. I feel next season I will be confident enough to use my Bear Montana long bow for hunting. I plan to finish this season off with my compound and transition into traditional equipment next season. Thank you for your content, Jason.
I really need to do the mod to my stand so it slides and locks in. Have spent to much time trying to get my stand tight to tree. Looking forward to a update review. It is pricey but like you said, i thought my lone wolf alpha setup was to when i got it.
The cast lone wolf like assault and alpha really benefit from the slight chamfer to let it slide. The new lw 1.0 the chamfer doesn't help much as the points on the back of the platform as so vicious. But it does hand cam very easily so still no need to toe hook.
before I bought my .5 I cut out a piece of cardboard the size of platform to kinda see what it would be like. Stacked books in a kitchen chair to check the seat height lol. I think the limiting factor of the .75 is the width. I have the .5 and it's the same width as the .75 (about the same as beast I believe). I just got the 1.0 but I haven't hunted it yet, only set in the yard once, and it was a noticeable difference. I could and will still hunt both though.
@@bqoutdoors2334 I guess if I had to pick I'd pick the 1.0, however, I have only sat in the yard once. I mean, sometimes the .5 makes my back get a little tight after about 4 hours. The width of the .5 and .75 is kinda tight if you expect to stand up in the rear of the stand and reposition your feet as you turn left or right because you keep rubbing your calf muscles on the cables. You have to position your boot around the cable as well. I haven't actually hunted from or packed the 1.0 in. It felt great sitting in the yard for 10 mins. If I had to pick between .75 and 1.0 at this point I'd go 1.0 for the extra width. I still need to sit in it for a full hunt to see if my back feels the same way or if it's any better. It's not a problem, just kinda feels stiff after a while, probably just me. I went with the 2.0 seat on the 1.0 and .75 seat on the .5. I prefer the larger seat. I'm 5-9 175 lbs size 11 boots if that tells you anything.
@@Cole4737 thanks brother I was leaning towards the 1.0 and you just made my mind up for me. I’m getting old at 39 lol and a bigger more comfortable stand makes sense especially seeing how I shoot a 60 inch long bow. Thanks
@@bqoutdoors2334 No Problem! One last thing. If you plan on using those tie-down points on the platform, make sure you order those accessory straps, they come separately.
Hey Jason I’m sold on lone wolf custom gear it not cheap but it’s a premium stand great video the beast just missing the mark for the money the seat seat so cheap and no backpack straps I think you will be happy
Beast stand also had load stand option just go to genesis 3d printing and get the like $15 little adapter to lock the seat on beast have used mine for 2yrs and love it
Mostly I've been hunting with the .5 tactasaddle and one sticking/ repel. I still have the lw assault and novix helo. That helo is one of my favorites. All these stands are nice. I'd like to try the 1.0. I bet the 2.0 would be nice too with lots of room.
Dan seems like a great guy but Andre is the OG of light mobile stand designers. I added the bow holder waist belt and straps and love mine. Use 3 or 4 doubles and love the shelf feature to set my pack on. I may try one with the mesh seat mod for longer sits. The system is well though out and great for run and gun. Never could get the Beast stand to stop squeaking and the cables were always hitting my boots due to narrow width. The hip belt is definitely worth it……give it a try.
I really like the width between the cables. I also like how easy it cam sets by hand. I will never toe hook a stand. The beast stand was amazing, this stand is amazing the original lone wolf assault is amazing. It's the light weight, super width, that win for me with this stand.
Squeak came from the antler bracket. Overall I thought the construction of the Beast stand was top notch but heard of many others having same issue. My stand was completely stealth stripped. Not bagging on it just giving honest feedback. I still have four Beast sticks and they are great.
Yes, the construction is very nice on the beast, but I agree with Jason that it can be slick and that machining on the lwcg with all the traction looks top notch.
I’m so glad you got this just so I could watch the review lol. Im going to be hunting out of one of these next year. My novix Helo is great but carrying the novix sticks on the stand with my Fanny pack just doesn’t jive. I use the seat like I shelf on mine. So the LWCG stand with the shelf seat and the way the sticks connect to the stand seems perfect. Now I wish you’d just buy the full length sticks and do a review on them 😂
They don't make a full length stick anymore. And the ones they did were only 28. I would not give up my 3 step 32 sticks. Love them. This 1.0 stand is excellent and I'm very impressed with it.
Hi,Jason you ware saying that the stelth cable silencers were coming off! I have used them for a long time and found you need to have the seam on the out side of the cable I start from the back of the cable and rap around it never comes off.
Have you checked out the XOP cold world stand yet? I was thinking of getting that. They are like $450 or less and about as light as the beast stand. I think its just a little shorter and a lil wider.
That beast bracket was terrible. It sucks on narrow leaners and squeaks. Dan said something about it squeaking they were working on a fix. That was 2 years ago. I put a Novix bracket and it was much better. Glad I sold that stand and went with a custom gear stand. Much more feature rich and locks to any tree I put it on.
I really like this 1.0. But I'm not gonna lie, the beast stand was also amazing. Never made a sound and hung on every tree I tried. As does the assault, the helo, the xop, etc. These are all basically the same. It comes down to seat, and platform. For my needs now the 1.0 fits better. There are some features I like more on the 1.0 than the beast. And I'm super happy with the 1.0. But honestly I wish novix brought back the assault and sold it for 350 or less and I would hands down say it was the best stand on the market. The cost of stands today is getting stupid. And cost matters. But I do really like this 1.0
You mean on the beast stand? I never have the buckle touching on the assault. On the beast it happens alot. On the assault if it's happening you might want to try getting the strap tighter before you push down on the stand. I don't know if it's unsafe, but I don't like when my strap is tightly resting against the sharp edges.
@user-wb6dz9bz8g I got ya. I didn't realize that's what you did. The beast antler bracket is much wider than the assault bat wing. That's why your hitting the buckle so much. But I'd rather it hit the buckle than the strap.
Because of the design for toe caming. I have been hanging over 100 stand a year for 30 years. Never once needed to toe cam a stand. Chamfer the brackets and it drops down and locks in. A t9e cam method requires a person to get into an unstable stand and then do un safe maneuvers on an un stable stand to make it stable. Then the method puts massive overload of stress on the seat post and batwing bracket. If a stand has to be toe hooked the maker of the stand failed in the design.. fortunately this one doest require toe hooking. If it I did I would sell it.and I can for sure toe hook a stand without any personal concern. I'm a monkey in a tree. But the principle of it is bad. The method is bad, imagine trying to tell someone thats new to tree stand hunting they had to do all that. Imagine how many people would hang it and not toe cam because they didn't know and would be left sitting in an un stable stand. I hate toe hooking because it's a bandaid on piss poor design. But fortunately I have never had a stand I had to do it on. This one included. If I did I would sell it and bitch to high heaven about the horrible engineering. That's how much I hate toe hooking.
I sold my beast stand and sticks to go back to my Helo and og lone wolf sticks. Nothing beats the original lonewolf sticks in my opinion. I’m gonna start to carry my stand the same way you do I actually like that idea. But man I almost think the lw assault looks better than the 1.0
With what's available today I think the lwgc 1.0 is at the top of the list. However I do still believe the original assault is the best stand ever made. Shame it's not available any more. Shame the days of the assault being the best stand available and for on 229.00 are gone too. Prices of these stands reaching 700 bucks with shipping is crazy. But the 1.0 is a feature packed excellent stand and I'm really like it.
@@SamkoTradBow have you ever tried the XOP? I seen they have one for around $200 brand new and looks like it has a lot of room. The one thing I don’t like about my Helo is how narrow it is. I have hardly any foot room
Price of all these stands today is astronomical. I promise you this. If novix brought back the assault and had it for 350 like thier other stands I'd buy it in a heart beat. This stand is amazing, the beast stand is amazing, but dollar per performance nothing will ever match the original assault stand.
They don't make a 32 inch stick. I won't go to minis. Love my 3 full length sticks with one aider. They are super fast and simple. With those sticks I can be in the stand 17 feet high and ready to hunt in under 4 mins. And my stand and sticks packed up to leave in under 20 seconds.
@outdoorsmanofmichigan3858 yep but those are not available anymore and for the price I could by 3 sets of novix 32s. I love my original lw sticks. Don't think I will ever change them out.
@@SamkoTradBow what do you mean? They still have the 28” sticks. Shipping in 3-5 business days. They are under compact sticks- 28”. You should try them. They are super nice and the packability as a system with there wolf pack is simply amazing. Feels like nothing on your back it’s so nice and tight. Much more foot room and comfort. 5/16” hardware. They are bombproof. Won’t have to worry about replacing the sticks like you do on those old lone wolf sticks from that screw head eating into them.
I have an unreal amt of sits in my beast. Got a .75 this year. It definetly bites the tree harder and is way!!! Way!! Way!! quieter. I doubt you will have to chamfer it.
I did hang the 1.0 a dozen times already. And I already chamfered it. The 1.0 has to be hand camed to set it. It doesn't slide even with the Chambers. But hand caming it works great. My beast stand never made a sound and I loved it. But definitely like the extra width of this 1.0!
I’m really surprised you are selling your Beast stand. At one point it was the best stand ever and you’ll never need another stand again; it was perfect.
And it was. Until I moved to Georgia and started wearing snake boots all the time. Need more room between the cables. Even called hunting beast to see if they were coming out with a wider stand anytime soon. They were not. So I looked elsewhere. I need room between the cables now. The beast doesn't have that. But it's an amazing stand and I loved it for every single second I was on it for over 200 hunts in the time I owned it.
We need room with any boots, I think they might have overlooked that when designing. Or custom gear is just truly better. Which I think it is. And that’s unfortunate because I would rather give my money to Dan. But neither are getting any of my money any time soon. The assault is what I have and what I have to work with.
@garrettstraffon608 if you already have an assault I don't believe you need a new stand. This 1.0 is amazing and feature packed. But honestly I still believe the assault is the best stand ever made personally.
@@garrettstraffon608I never had an assault, but I did get an echo and helo from novix. When I got the beast stand, I didn’t think it was “better” than either of those stands. There were things I didn’t like. To each their own. And that’s proved by the facts of what Jason says here. His complaints weren’t really the same ones I had. And when I got the beast stand and started hanging it side by side with the helo, I sold the beast stand and ran the helo stand. Which is similar to the assault, just not as wide. Which as Jason says in these videos, is becoming more of a deal breaker with him. That and it’s appearing as traction as well. The only “big” difference between the assault and the 1.0 honestly, it’s the packing friendly features that I would even say if the biggest difference. The seat design with the medium or I guess is now standard to the 1.0… it’s flawless. It has an over sized pad (same one they use on the larger seat frame) but I like how it covers the edges.
Saw those. John and James both use them. They are like a rubber watch strap. For me the speed of these is much faster. These I just pull and hook. The other ones I have to fish theu bring back up then buckle. For me these tsrp straps are much much faster and easier.
@@SamkoTradBow I used tarp straps for many years. The five seconds longer it takes is well worth the added versatility of the titan in my opinion. Then again I still roll my Alpha 2 ...If it ain't broke don't fix it!!
Saddles aren't new they pushed them years ago there's way too much going on with ropes and not knowing which directions deer will travel depending on the wind there is too much movement trying to get into a shooting position.
Big price difference between both stands there's a local guy selling a new 1.0 with 4 20in mini sticks with cable aiders with pack system with carry belt and and a side kick bow holder on Market place for $850 firm price never used doesn't Novics carry replacement plastic stoppers that's the same as the original Lonewolfs.
I made the mistake of sticking my nose in to the politics that happen between novix and lwcg. After hearing both sides I decided to get out of the way and mind my own. I'm just a consumer and not getting involved in the behind the scenes.
If mean price between the assault and the new 1.0, beast, etc that are available today your right. Prices are just crazy. You could buy 2 assaults and a set of sticks for the price of high end stands today. I miss the days of the assault. But since those are gone I ha e to be objective and honest about what's available today. In today's world this 1.0 is outstanding and offers a ton of features I really like.

@@SamkoTradBow unfortunately the price of everything has gone through the roof. A deer mount cost $700 now.
@@deerslayertv1139 very true
@@SamkoTradBow have you ever tried the XOP? I seen they have one for around $200 brand new and looks like it has a lot of room. The one thing I don’t like about my Helo is how narrow it is. I have hardly any foot room
@@deerslayertv1139 the xop stand as excellent and amazing prices. The vanish is basically the same size as a assault or lwcg 1.0 for 1/3 of the price.
Great video. I have to say for the price, you should get free straps, lol.
Price of all these stands today is astronomical. I promise you this. If novix brought back the assault and had it for 350 like thier other stands I'd buy it in a heart beat. This stand is amazing, the beast stand is amazing, but dollar per performance nothing will ever match the original assault stand.
I was dumb enough to sell my assault 5 or so years ago. Dumb dumb.
@sarafayelawton652 sold many things I wish I had back too. All part of the game of life. You are not alone in that feeling
You should try their sticks!
@@SamkoTradBow they make a 28” stick. Its not 32 but close enough.
I meant steps on the sticks having to be replaced
I stick with my realtree hotshot 17lbs for 60$ or Muddy viking 15lbs 😂
@@Crayz919 perfect
Toss those tarp straps and get yourself some Titan straps. You can actually adjust them! Thank me later!
@grantdau8574 love the alpha! Still have one. It's the only stand tina or Bella will hunt out of. Big and roomy and still light
@@SamkoTradBow I'm 100% with you on the original LW full sticks too. Here in part Iowa where I hunt, I carry three but only use two 90% of the time!
@grantdau8574 yep they are so fast and pack up very right and together either the folding steps. And they are the same length as the stand basically.
In two years he will be telling you how great the next stand is. #anythingforclicks
Sorry guess I should of stayed with my api baby grand stand I got in 1993. Cause I publicly said that was the best stand ever too.
Just buy a saddle and be done with the BS
You will never see me in a saddle. I a stand guy 100%. No offense to saddles but they are not for me.
Lolll… that’s like saying just starting banging dudes.
Saddles aren't new they pushed them years ago there's way too much going on with ropes and not knowing which directions deer will travel depending on the wind there is too much movement trying to get into a shooting position.
@raymondjones6024 yep saddles were popular for about 6 or 7 years in the 90s. Then disappeared.
I can’t get behind this company.
How come?
Why?
